I'm sorry I just don't get it yet why popteen signed up dakota in a molding contract where there are much cuter and more energetic (on and off camera and also on tv shows) girls other than her! being a model for a well sold magazine world wide is not only about being stiff and acting as if you cared is about showing your true colors. and Dakota faked hers the same way she faked her face, personality and tits.

The popteen models are really posting so many pictures with Dakota today, and with captions "she really looks like a mannequin" "she's such an angel" "dakota is as cute as always", so suddenly like that, I imagined Dakota standing behind them, glaring while they posted the pictures

But, seriously, I think it is nice if she is gonna hang out with them more. She would definitely be more interesting posting about hanging out with friends rather than ... whatever she posts about now

^seems more like for gaining popularity, it's weird that she suddenly interacts with them so much when she wasn't very relevant for popteen anymore

@SulaSkrimsli Thank you! Its not the one I was thinking about but a good example! Here they also just bump into the recording. In the other one it was more clear because the camera was not focussed on Dakota all the time but when it was directed on her it seemed like suddenly Dakota was interesting for the other girls but after it moved on they just left too.
I cant find the one I meant. It was behind the szenes so is hard to find it when you cant see Dakota clearly before you click on the video. Butl ook this video at around 5:00. Maybe its just my feeling towards her behaviour but for e she seems really uncomfortable. At 7:00 she is sitting behind her popteen "friends" (but I have to say it is almost one year ago)

I know in the other forum there were people saying she is just shy but I think she doesnt get enough support from the othet girls.

She definitely has no idea how to socialize and become genuine friends with others. In both videos, it seems like she can't just let loose and it's probably because of all the pressure she's under. Maybe she didn't realize that becoming a successful and lasting model in Japan requires more than just looking cute. It's definitely harder than just being internet famous where she had more control over how people perceived her.

I agree, but I also think that it's the cultural gap at play too. Feigning sincerity is a big part of the ''kawaii'' culture in Japan and many foreigners, including myself, are so completely out of touch with it that we don't know how to fit in when faced with such a situation.

Endless compliments, looking genuinely interested, acknowledging the most insignificant feats, clapping, squealing, encouraging anything and everything, etc etc... The things you have to do to seem ''socially successful among girls'' are quite challenging and are usually never done in the western parts of the world to be honest. Pair that with Dakota's social awkwardness and this plays out.

Personally, it takes practice, lots and lots of practice but the other thing, is which I notice with Dakota, is that she is tense and trying to fit in but is unsure on how to do it. All she needs to do is relax, smile and go with it, sometimes that's all it takes to start being cute with sincerity sometimes. If you get what I am trying to say.

You guys are wondering why she cannot befriend any of the other Popteen models and pity her for them 'ignoring' her. The fact is that Dakota seems to be a really rude and self-centered person. My friend is a model in one of the show she worked for as well and she told me that Dakota never talks with any other models, AT ALL. She looks always very upset and annoyed. Actually i met her in the backstage, while waiting for my friend to pack and leave the building. I've seen many of the famous models leaving, they all looked tired (the show was few hours long so they were pretty much working non stop the entire day) but noone of them had that kind of look on their face that Dakota did. She looked at me as if she immediately assumed she is way better than me and just in general it was easy to tell that she isn't a good person. I'm pretty new on this forum so I don't know how much do you guys know about her but I just wanted to add that she is super short irl and she smokes quiet a lot

Slightly OT: smoking is not overly good for looks, especially if their whole world and career revolves around it. I get that she gets stressed and it help relieves it but it leads to short lives and a very slow, painful death, my Grandmother went through it and it's the one reason why I will never smoke, despite being stressed to hell.

Though, I had a feeling she would be like this but she doesn't seem better than anyone else, imo...

Wow! You actually saw her? If she smokes, that would explain why her teeth are so yellow... I always wondered about that. :s
