SHIT MIRA SAYS

I've watched for almost a year now and have not yet seem this "attitude" problem you mentioned. Sometimes she can express a "know it all" attitude, but I think overall she's okay, and even cute, in her videos. I wouldn't watch someone every week if I thought they were an asshole..

Mira's main problem is, from my perspective, that she is unable to build strong arguments to defend herself. And, without wishing to offend anyone, I think it might be because of her level of education. I believe she studied up until high school (please correct me if I'm wrong), and afterwards has dedicated herself to making money by hard-work labor (waitress, hostess, etc.). She has taught English because she is a native speaker, but -apparently- has made no effort to learn the basics of teaching. She lacks humbleness, as noticed in her Japanese test's video, and considers herself superior to other's way of thinking based on the idea that experience always trumps theoretical knowledge. Her only studies after high school have been around Japanese language, and yet, she diminish such teaching institutions. Overall, she believes herself to be better because she lives in a highly-technological-developed country, while being oblivion to the fact that neither the society nor the government consider her as "part" of their country.

It is sad, because you can see that she is trying to succeed in life, but she lacks the necessary tools to do it. She could become a great vlogger, but she is unable to understand how or what you need to do so. The variety of the videos' contents just proves that she is unable to go "deeper" into a topic (skill usually taught during college/university) and doesn't understand the helpfulness of using resources to validate your arguments (aka researching, proof, etc.). Her sole way of living is based on the idea that "hard work = success", "success = money/status" and "unable to achieve success = life being unfair to her". Or so it appears to be.

I think it would really help her to focus on something in her life and pursue success in it: you tube, a job with possibility to grow, or school, are great options.

Yes, not to offend anyone here either... but i do feel that a 4 college or university program is a very valuable experience. It builds up your Human Capital... gives you the tools and skills that you need to success. I feel that Mira's parents, might have gone out into the work force after highschool and thought that it is alright for mira to do so as well. Canada has many educated people, but there are still many people that believe hard labourous work = money = achievement. I do not blame Mira for not going past high school, children usually follow in their parents footsteps or are influence by them to a certain extent. There was one video where she said in Canada parents don't pay for their children's education .. when you turn 16 or 18 you have to go out and make you own life or else people will make fun of you... This is simply not true ... there are a lot of parents who support their children's education, even those who open an education fund for their children so that they can use that money for university. However, she just commented from her own experience... I feel that she does realize the value of education... b/c most japanese have degrees but she just tries to downplay its importance or act like she doesn't care.....

:harharplz: lol

after attacking sharla... and losing subbs she has been acting a lot nicer ... in her videos especially.. she use to be more rude

(ot: there is such a thing as a house husband when my mother got very sick my dad became a very good house husband and taught all us girls how to clean, cook, and take care of ourselves.)
on topic time: She has a history of saying things that will get her the most attention. when she was on yt under the name rainbow rants she would literally make rants about everything even if they contradicted each other and did not make any sense. I'm sure this was how all the jvloggers caught her she just doesn't cover her tracks/remember what she says, chick just wants attention.

Wait, she had a TY channel before Kanadajin3? Does anyone have any links to these videos?

I can imagine her pestering Japanese plastic surgeons begging them to give her a single eyelid surgery and ram her nose into her face or something.

''I was a Nihonjin from the start da yo. Mukatsuku haters. Anyone that's not Japanese is racist. LOOK AT MY EYELIDS!!! I HAVE NONE! NIHON BANZAAAAAAAAI!!1!!1!!11!!!!!''

she probably stands in front of her mirror with pictures of her ideal Japanese beauty standards taped to it while she tries to force her eyelids to recede or flatten her nose. It's depressing to think about how much she must actually hate herself :/

In light of the recent events, I'd like to add poteto sarara into the cluster of weird shit Mira says.

She can't even say sarada. Which would still be weird, but at least the correct version of the word. :rageplz:

And why is she using the Japanese version of an English name? It's potato salad ffs. You're speaking in English. Your piss poor subtitles are in Japanese. Under these circumstances, saying poteto sarada is completely unnecessary. If you're so willing to mix languages up, why don't you go ahead and add English words into your Japanese subtitles?

''Todayはpotato salad作ります!とってもtastyだね!!Homeでeasily作れるからpreperation timeの事がworryしなくてもgoodよ~!''

Yeah... I didn't think so.

Hear, hear!

It always irks me when she suddenly uses borrowed words like messeeji (message), sutoreito paamu (straight perm), kondishinaa (conditioner) etc. with a Japanese accent while speaking English. It's one of the most annoying things ever. :rageplz:

She reminds me of this. But in a weird dual layered way. She takes an English word, finds the borrowed form of it in Japanese and uses it with that accent while speaking English, which is where the word originally came from. To be honest, it's quite unique. :derp:

It's like a French person using the English pronunciation of croissant while forming a French sentence. Weird.

She's sort of doing the backwards version of the language snob? I'm not sure how to describe what she did lol

I'd describe it as a "Japanese is superior to all else you scrubs" snob

And I've seen both of those videos before, love 'em

It's really weaboo to me. All the weaboos I've met will say the Japanese pronunciation of loaner words when speaking in English.

I only find it appropriate to do when you're talking in English to a Japanese speaking person who may not know what you're talking about at first.

Really Miranda?

''When in Rome, do as the Romans do.'' is your favourite phrase? Really?

Then might you care to explain why you pronounce English words with a Japanese accent in the middle of an English sentence?

That's not how any of the Romans/Japanese/English did it. You're just fishing for attention. :notimp:

Besides, that quote is probably the most irrelevant quote considering you are the subject of the matter.

You do absolutely nothing the Japanese way, yet claim to be one. You lie, you backstab, you attack, you're loud, you're brash, you never stop to listen understand what people are trying to tell you, you immediately turn vile if anyone else dares to utter their own opinion and on and on and on...

I'm pretty sure that's not how the Romans (or any sane person) do. *drops mic*
