I don't know much about LV, but I'm pretty sure the price range goes around 1000-15000 USD for a big one.

I've seen (probably) authentic LV tote bags in second hand shops like 2nd Street for 10.000¥ which is less than 100 USD. So a wallet seems pretty affordable if you're not hellbent on purchasing a brand new one.

I love the fact that David Suzuki, who is a brilliant academic, is Japanese-Canadian. He's the boss in the bottom left corner.

If it was anyone else I wouldn't bat an eyelid and applaud them for the recognition. But Mira being, well, Mira... I'm urged to notice that she's included a Japanese-Canadian in the Canadian part of the photo.

She's trying to prove to the ~haterz~ that being Japanese is a nationality and not a race, just like Canadian. Except Japanese politicians repeatedly refuse to accept refugees on the basis "Japan is a one race nation" (Shinzo Abe's words) So sorry Mira, you can't become Japanese. But nice try.

I highly doubt you'd be able to purchase fake goods very easily in Japan. Isn't the country really strict with how those goods are imported and exported? I heard somewhere that you can get into some serious trouble if you bring your fake LV or other designer bag into the country. Knowing Mira, it'd probably be second hand, or a gift that she kept from when she was a hostess. Except, I thought Mira had never done fulltime work in Japan? My bad~

Ugh. Honestly, I don't get what this obsession she has with wanting to be Japanese so badly. There's a kind of privilege that comes with being a foreigner in Japan (I don't mean this in a bad way). There's nothing wrong with being a white Canadian living in Japan.

I wouldn't even care if she got citizenship, others have done it.. but the fact that she's trying so hard to have people call her Japanese, in the context that she's just like a racially Asian, ethnically Japanese person, bothers me. I don't know why, maybe because it reeks of desperation.

I also found a really good website that probably Mira may have browsed through (I'm only assuming), it had an article about Lafcadio Hearn aka Koizumi Yakumo being the first foreigner having a Japanese citizenship. Interesting enough....this whole website has a lot of good information about becoming legally Japanese (citizenship by naturalization), so I wouldn't be surprised if she did come across it.
