I recently unsubbed her because she was giving off this vibe like a really sexualized feel to her videos especially when she did that voice you know the "hi chief" or whatever. It's like ok we get it you want to cater to a male audience but god is it cringey

She's a massive weeb, like how Shine's a massive otaku (I'll give Shine benefit of being called an otaku because he's grown up in Japan and is Japanese, so he's not appropriating his own culture, ergo he technically can't be a weeb; still cringey though). I've looked into her stuff briefly because I sub to Joey, and let's just say that most of her content isn't aimed at girls (forget that I'm bi lol). She's also super clickbaity from what I see of her video list. The thumbnails are also... dubious... she's that close to making her channel softcore. Idk if we have another Jessica Nigri on our hands or not.

I feel like she just never outgrew that teenage wannabe cringe phase, but then again, neither have most YTers who have hit their 20s. Joey is a bit better in that regard, but I think he's still figuring himself/ his personality a bit. Shine is a disgrace for someone hitting adulthood.

Yeah, I find it very cringeworthy how she tries so hard to look sexy. I agree with you guys, her thumbnails and pictures in general are very disturbing to look at. All those "look how sexy I am!" poses make her seem desperate.

Her videos' humor falls flat sometimes and makes them awkward to watch. I prefer her to AnimeMan though, he comes off as pretentious and arrogant. I think it's cringey that they're that in a sexualish way in the public eye together even though it's fake.

as for her Vocaloid videos, they've appeared in my recommended videos list but I've never watched them because the titles are cringey in themselves(# of perverted vocaloid songs, # of sad vocaloid songs) and make Vocaloid seem smaller than it is, and I assume she's just gonna feature Crypton Vocaloids -.-(Hatsune Miku, Rin and Len, Etc)

When they do pop up in my recommended list, I can't really get through any of her videos without skipping ahead or just closing the video altogether. Something about her seems too tryhard to be cool and sexy and it makes me cringe.

And not to be a hater, I still jam out to a few songs, but just the fact that she churns out Vocaloid commentary/"Top 10" videos in 2016 is kinda cringeworthy. Like.. gurl. Leave that in 2012.

I'm a huge fan of Vocaloid and UTAUloid, so I've seen Akidearest around on YouTube in my recondmended list as well. According to a Tumblr blog I follow called terriblevocaloidshit has posted a video in which when asked if she prefers bishies, baras, or shotas she replied that she cannot choose between the three options given.

Does Aki understand that "shota" is the male equivalent of "loli" and that it's often used to describe an underaged boy in a sexualized context? I sure hope that comment about being into underaged boys was a joke, but even so it's still a tasteless thing for her to laugh about. Especially since there are many real life female pedophiles who slip under the radar of causing harm to children just on the grounds that they are female. Joking about being into shotas, at least in my eyes, is just further normalizing harm against underaged boys and fueling the stigma that "women can't be pedos!!!11!!!1!!one!!!"

You make a good point about the creepiness and tasteless "comedy" of many anime Youtubers as well as anime fans as a whole, and I wholeheartedly agree with you 100% on that. The "otaku" fandom has it's fair share of problematic problematic people and unfortunately Aki is catering to that side of the fandom, whether she realizes it or not.
