I new to this thread and I needed it. I remember back in March, I think, watching this. This woman literally does makeup like a 10 year old playing with mom's makeup. Purple mascara on one eye, and whatever the fuck on her forehand. She then managed to fuck it up and continued to draw more and more to balance it lmao. Her fans are eating it all up like yaaas queen purple mascara on one eye. She really didn't want to do a normal beauty routine while that was the theme of the video, but wanted to be all quirky and different like a 14 year old.

I can't believe Vogue put this up on their youtube. She put on a moisturizer, then a primer, and then tinted moisturizer on top of all that. She must be soOOOoo greasy at the end of the day, and especially after a concert where she's moving around and in front of blinding lights. Why would she do this to herself?

Her application is so wtf at times. She sprays the facial mist close to her face, tightens her lips as she slathers lip balm on, and is just smearing all of her products on her face with her claw hands. Step 1 should've been wash your damn hands and clean under those nails. Or use a brush or something good lord.

Then there's this:

How is this "beauty secrets"?! Vogue, seriously what the fuck.

This is what happens to people that have nice skin their entire life and now decided to have a skincare routine because it's trendy. Lol the editors were probably "Wtf is this? Is this satire? Should we post this? -Yeah of course you should, it's Elon's wife, remember?" Girl, just use a moisturizer and anti age shit and call it a day, but you had to be different.

I also think that they gave her some clemency because some (dumbasses) give Grimes shit for her... fuck I dunno how to put this in polite terms, but, Grimes has a very unique facial structure among popular singers/celebrities -- she doesn't fit the (distorted and stupid IMO) norm of 'beauty standards', you get me? So I think Vogue are like "look, we're championing this different-looking woman and her offbeat idiosyncratic makeup style!" even if this makeup honestly just looks awful.

I quite like her facial structure personally and I think she's cute in a 'Slavic Pixie' kinda way, and I think her earlier, Art Angels/VIsions era makeup suited her a lot better..

I’ve seen like 37 different ways that their baby’s name is supposed to be pronounced, and I’m so confused.

Idk, I think Elon paid Vogue to feature her, Grimes appeared in shit ton of online interviews early this year talking about everything from her diet to her album covers, but she never made a single hit. I think Grimes is just average looking if you give her a regular brown hair and clothes. But I still like that normal looking people are getting noticed for their art and eccentric looks rather than being oversexualized and attractive.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/elon-musk-grimes-change-babys-132940580.html

Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk and his partner Grimes have changed the unusual and largely unpronounceable name of their firstborn child. But anyone hoping that X Æ A-12 might be replaced by something a little more conventional, is going to be disappointed.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, singer Grimes confirmed that the baby formerly known as X Æ A-12, would now be known as “X Æ A-Xii.”

Grimes gave no explanation for the change to using Roman Numerals, but later responded to a post asking if the alteration was made to comply with a California law that holds only the 26 letters of the alphabet can be used for child names.

“Roman numerals. Looks better tbh,” Grimes wrote.

Still why?

Tbh they have to be trolling with the name at this point. Which is kinda just... sad because Elon loves to try and be a quirky edgelord who's also a CEO, while grimes is weird middle school quirky that's endearing as a musician but not as like a social media figure. (which the trolling is making her and elon out to be kinda)

I always knew Grimes was qUiRKy (I am actually a fan, loved Art Angels) but she's increasingly becoming less 'oh so weird artsy musician' and more 'never grew out of weird middle school anime phase'... which I still want to support because at least she's having fun

But oh my fucking GOD that vogue video is so ... it's kinda embarrassing I won't lie. It's kinda like when a middle schooler first discovers makeup. I don't care that her makeup skill actually isn't good, she doesn't claim to be a makeup artist or even an influencer. it's just fucking weird that vogue really put this up. Like it's ... bad. Not even avant garde or quirky. You can have really editorial looks that are still clearly well done.

On the topic of Vogue championing 'non conventionally attractive/eccentric' celebs, I think she's quite pretty as well. I actually like how bulbous her nose is, it gives her face a lot of character. I hope she never changes her face tbh, she has a fresh face

Let’s hope she just sticks to what she does best and gets better at it with practice.

https://www.vogue.com/article/grimes-selling-soul

As if the pop-culture space needed an extra dose of the uncanny right now, pop singer (and bizarre baby-name bestower) Grimes announced on Thursday that she would be selling a percentage of her soul as part of her first online fine-art show.

“I didn’t want anyone to buy it, so I said we should just make it $10 million and then it probably won’t sell,” Grimes told Bloomberg of the work, which is included in an exhibition titled “Selling Out,” appropriately enough. But one only has to look at Grimes’s partner, Tesla founder Elon Musk, to remember that eccentric rich guys absolutely do exist. There’s no word on a buyer yet, but Grimes ultimately decided on a price of “best offer” for her soul.

people buy the dumbest shit for a LOT of money, i just. dont want to believe this is real. this article is making me feel like 2020 has finally lost it. its not creative, its not meta, its not ironic, its a dumb joke that middle schoolers make. but i guess shes representing her audience.

...... i pray that it's still fake.

god. that's just... are you serious.

your baby's name turned into a joke for social media. it can't be genuine, because they are not the 'dreamy, tortured, quirky, spiritual' individuals they want to be. get a grip, both of them.
