Hi all, I paid the server bill for the month so the site can be archived, sorry for the mess, didn't realize there'd be such an uproar. The site's in read-only mode. Happy archiving. Here's a link to a user-made PULL discord server: https://discord.gg/vZFEm75

My friend if Miranda can learn Japanese (arguably really poorly) you can do it.

Set yourself small achievable targets, it's a hard language to learn!!

I think it is because she lives in Japan, if she hears it every day she will learn fast.

There's also that. I went to Ireland one week once and my English improved so fast. So I think that you could learn at least the basic of Japanese in a month if you live here.

I do get the question tho. I’ve been studying Japanese 1,5 years now and still can only hold very basic conversations. I do think as well that it’s because she moved to japan and probably got support through her agency to learn the language. I have to say after I watched an interview, I noticed that her pronounciation is reaaaally good. That also plays a big part in sounding very fluent.

Japanese is a very difficult language. minus the grammar, they have a ton of words for just one meaning, which you all have to learn.

The only way to get good quick is to really do AJATT, or move there and be immersed.

if you study very casually expect to take atleast 5 years to get into the intermediate range. and that one is incredibly difficult to surpass as well. I have been stuck at it for over 5 years. I am a very casual learner, and my goal is now mainly to just stay at my current level.(Mid intermediate)
