Manaki

Mana & Venus are both ridiculously naieve. Hopefully these past few days have been a lesson to them. If they want to be together, they are going to have to face some sobering facts.

It's not about the age difference, or job choices, or language barriers, or even VISAs. You should be a whole, independent, happy, and loving person, BEFORE entering a relationship. Venus has one of these qualities (loving), and nothing else but a boat load of baggage. She should deal with her own life, and not drag Mana into her mess... but... that's easier said from an outsider's perspective. Any support is hard to pass up, especially if it's a first time romance. Butterflies AND help? Who could say 'no'?

That's assuming she has romantic feelings for him. And, that she is getting fed up with Margo. Either way, Mana is a fan boy... and Venus is mentally 14. Sometimes, it all looks so bleak.

She might like him, but I think she's probably forcing any real romantic feelings because it could be an out for her to get away from her baggage. If that's the case, it's stupid, because then she's just going to get into a very samey situation with him.

I always thought that some stuff where very real and others very fake with those too.

I really don't feel too bad for him. It's not like Venus or Margo is holding a gun to his head he can leave at anytime. He just doesn't want to.

tbh he seems a little dense if he thinks Vargo really cares about him. It should be obvious they're using him for a visa

Manaki could be a huge crutch, as far as Venus goes, for trying to escape Margo.

I tend to agree with you... If you are using someone as a crutch, there is probably not much time for you to develop genuine feelings. There is probably WAY too much going on, and at the most, you are thankful to your crutch. But love... love does not equate to just simple appreciation. There are many other layers to love, and a lot depend on coming from a whole, and happy place.

Venus is not whole, and probably not happy.

I humbly disagree about the romantic feelings. Venus has the mentality of a, say, 14 year old. A guy waiting at ~Tokyo Disneyland~ to meet you is a very romantic thing to her and I have no doubt Manaki being the first boy allowed to dote on her has her invested and interested in him. It's not so black and white. She can have romantic feelings (or some form of affections) and also see him as a way out of her situation. In fact that's makes him even more endearing to her because now he's the hero in her story.

tl;dr: first loves are confusing and often shallow, Venus is emotionally stunted and experiencing it for the first time.

fair enough.

I don't think anyone can speculate on it really, because it's all behind closed doors.

I think Margo is trying to convince herself that Manaki is a bad person, to try to justify that Venus should of stayed with her. I mean... There's no need to say such accusations. I don't think what she's saying is true.

ofc and she does not. she is just a sick old woman leaving a nice life THROUGH HER DAUGHTERS life. And now that actually venus got a life margo is feeling the slap of reality. she was making her daughter do things that she couldnt do cuz of her age. Now her daughter is the boss of her life and margo is feeling helpless. I was quick enough and i saw that video on instagram before it went down(deleted by venus herself obviously) and margo started crying wishing venus the best even if she left her. I dont feel sorry at all for margo. im glad that she feels that way.

Even if Venus's love is childish and naive, I think that, as long as Manaki is good to her and genuinely loves her and wants to help her, she can learn how to interact with others and that will be a vast improvement from being with Margo. She's already an adult, what she needs is to learn she can and should do things on her own.

Let's be fair though. Manaki isn't a boy, he's a man. Hopefully that means he's either mature enough to be a good husband rather than a creepy fucker who lured a young girl away from her mother.

That being said, I believe that Venus is at the age where she should be allowed to make her own mistakes rather than suffer for the mistakes of her mother. If her first marriage and relationship fails then she'll learn that life just doesn't always work out that way.

Hopefully if that ever happens, by then she will be able to make a stand for herself and see for her own well being.

MAYBE I'm being overly optimistic here... but I think that Venus can thrive if guided by the right people and surrounded by healthy influences.

I hope that her relationship doesn't fail, but getting married at like, 18 years old, kind of seems that it might.

I agree. I mean Mira put herself into a dangerous situation trying to stay in Japan.

This is a really old thread and should get updated, but this topic belongs here right now:

Now that Venus is openly gay, how do you guys think Manaki feels and what will happen to their relationship and also him in the long-term future?
