I wonder why this guy thinks his viewers are basement dwellers. I mean, what is he trying to prove? Pretty sure 90% of his viewers contribute to society where else he's just an angry old man.

I have been watching his videos for over 5 years now. I also lived overseas for a decade (in couple different places in Asia / Middle East, but not in Japan). I can say that Ryan seems more interesting than most the people I encountered overseas and he could hold his own in a conversation and would be alright to hang out with.

At one point I came to a cross roads in life and Ryans videos helped me make a choice. I was heading down a path where I would have become him. A permanent expat, with no roots back home, and I was debating starting a youtube channel. I ultimately decided I didn't want his life, or atleast it would not be my first choice and I decided to move home. It was his specific life that I saw as my potential future if I lived overseas, and the problems I would have supporting that life post retirement when the income stream dried up. So Ryan served as a cautionary tale to me and I moved home. If shit hits the fan and it doesn't work out I can always go back and pick up where I left off. Ryans life isn't too bad, I'd say hes happier than most and maybe even happier than me, but its the longevity.

Ryan will have an amazing 15+ more years, after that it gets dicey for him, once you reach 60 overseas its hard to get jobs, hopefully he can get a bit of social security, even if its just 1k a month, he can find a country somewhere to live a modest life.

Ryan is complaining again. Not sure if he's trolling. Uganda is too sunny? I don't think that he's ever going to be happy. :-(

He's sweet towards animals, makes nice music and is living with a kind lady with a positive attitude.

If he's genuinely feeling off and not screwing with his viewers, I wish him the best and I hope he finds happiness.
