    I feel like this has merit to it since there's been plenty examples of Mei dropping people she doesn't agree with in the past. However, if Sei has been the guy she's mentioned on and off in the past two years, there must be something that keeps drawing them together. Whether its Mei begging Sei to take her back after a tiff, Sei giving her another chance, Mei hiding her true self and Sei being drawn to her sweet facade, its really hard to tell why they would still be together after so long. More importantly, they like each other enough that Sei moved across the country. Is she really so shitty to drop him like any other friend when he doesn't comply with her demands? If so, her shitty personality really has no boundaries.
    Needless to say, if Mei doesn't post about any large shopping sprees anytime soon then I think we know who closed his purse strings...

    I bet they would have broken up eventually anyway, but quarantine must have been the catalyst. At least in their apartment it seemed like they had their own spaces, but at her parent's house they were probably always together. They don't seem like a good match...Sei appears to actually work hard and Mei is milking the lowest effort hair videos she can possibly make. Disappointing.
    Speaking of her hair video, I would have expected a little more! It was pretty short and most of it was a timelapse of the stylist putting the bleach on. Idk about anyone else, but my favorite part is seeing color being put on, washed out, and then the new hair being styled at the end. She was probably there for a while and the video was so short. Then with a half-assed ad at the end lmao.

    A cheese stick lmao!!!! I totally get what you mean though because without muscle definition there is a sort of...softness to the body even if it's thin? I would be interested in this content if she was actually successful in gaining muscle mass. My concern is, if she decides to go this route, that using sponsored protein powders and meal-replacement shakes willy-nilly could have much more serious effects on her health. Promoting clothes and makeup is very different from promoting nutritional/fitness items that have a larger potential to negatively affect a person's bodily systems imo.

    Y'all are analyzing the evidence on whether they broke up and I'm just thinking about how Mei unfollowed Sei and removed posts like...this is so childish and immature lmao. What did I expect though

    I definitely got the vibe she was kinda bumming around the house and didn't work or go to school, just because she was always going out for Starbucks or shopping for a new transformation video. It's true college is not for everyone and even if she did decide to go, she's totally allowed to take some time off before starting. Honestly I watched her over a year ago, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt she is totally fine as a youtuber. Just kinda bland to me

    I watched some of her hair videos when she dyed her hair pink. She came off as generally entertaining, but nothing unique or so interesting that I would subscribe and watch more. Maybe I'm just jealous of her looks, but I kinda wrote her success off as her being very pretty. She is also very obviously from a well-off family if you look at her house in the backgrounds of some videos.
    Not sure about brattiness because I don't watch Brandon's videos, but all of her "changing myself into a different person" makeover videos gave me the impression she was struggling with her identity? Like she wanted to try so many different personas and looks because she wasn't comfortable with who she was. Could explain the self-deprecating humor (low self esteem).

    Based on this, I am TOTALLY hoping his next video is "How a poor Yale graduate got a job at D.E. Shaw" or something similar lol!! Perhaps while at Yale, Sei met some important classmates that have connections? He came off as so relaxed and genuine in the video its pretty easy to tell he would be an enjoyable person to be around. He probably made lots of friends.

    The weird thing to me is that I thought he studied humanities? And only took 1 course in CS or took none at all (i don't quite remember)? While it is totally possible to learn programming on one's own time and get a CS or "tech" position, my understanding is that most large companies would not hire someone like that unless they were REALLY good at what they do. As in, they have loads of experience freelance programming or absolutely ace the technical interviews with a mind-blowing solution. Since Sei did not mention he spent hours practicing programming, doing leetcode/hackerrank problems, other programming experience etc. to get his skills up to snuff, it feels like something does not add up.

    I happened to study CS at a college in the Midwest and my friends/classmates have been offered 80k/90k starting salary on the high end and 70k as the mid-range. Of course, the cost of living is much lower in the Midwest than on either of the coasts. If 120k is offered at entry-level based on someone's alma mater, that's crazy! Just because someone went to Yale doesn't mean they are great at what they do... am I missing something? 0_0;

    Lol similar to how Mei mentions right away that she went to college at 15 in the Heroine interview and several other videos? Seems like her and Sei are a good fit
    I agree we are looking at him through the lens of Mei, which is not very favorable to Sei. I am totally open to changing my opinion about Sei based on what he decides to present through his youtube channel. All there is to do now is wait for him to upload another video I guess? I don't feel like I have enough information to decide what he is. Tbh I feel like Mei could redeem herself as well if she just cut the crap and started being honest with her viewers again. And you're absolutely right he could leave at any time and learn from being with her. I'd honestly laugh if he eventually becomes more popular than her

    Wow, watched Sei's video. If I happened across him any other way I would believe he was a genuine youtuber talking about his life experiences. He comes off so much more relaxed and natural than Mei in her videos!
    Because of everything discussed here I feel like if Mei is truly aware of the forum then Sei starting his own channel could be a way of dispelling the "Sei is rich and buying everything for Mei" theory. Like, I feel this channel popping up is definitely caused by Mei's influence. I don't follow Sei closely but I know he has an IG, does he otherwise interact on social media often? He claims in the video he got into Yale "due to luck" and it's "outside of one's control". He also says his parents could not contribute to his tuition and he needed a scholarship to attend college. Do you believe this story? I am not sure what to think yet.
    Additionally, he says, "I took 14 AP exams, all of them got 5's or 4's. I also scored 35 out of 36 on the ACT...I think". (For those unfamiliar with the AP exam, it is an exam taken in high school with a score out of 5 and generally colleges award credits for scores of 4 and 5. Sometimes just 5's. It's a way to "skip" classes in college and save money because you prove you already have the qualifying knowledge, therefore can move past the specific class to the next level.) I mean....without receipts this could all be untrue. Unless he is really smart, which is not out of the realm of possibility. But since I went through AP exams and the ACT myself, I know how unlikely it is to score so high.
    Also this is just something that bothers me but the decoration on their console entirely changed for Sei's video. I get that he doesn't want a girly feminine backdrop but...seeing as how its empty it really feels like they use it as a prop lol. It hurts me knowing that thing is so expensive and they sit on it for aEsThEtiC during their videos...
