Nah man she is nothing like Angelina. Angelina is actually quite pretty. Sissel looks plain. then again I live in Scandinavia so I'm used to these type of girls. In Korea it seems like as long as you have a sort of childish face and you're white you can get away modelling for some W concept stores lol

About her forehead....LOL I thought I was the only one xD

Yes people LOVE baby faces in East Asia I’ve noticed! Whereas in the West girls with baby faces are seen more as cutesy/childlike and less attractive. I think Sissel would be very pretty if she changed her haircut to have bangs bc her forehead really detracts from her beauty imo.

OT: I don't think that Angelina girl is all that pretty. She's pretty but a bit plain too. There are so many models more beautiful than her. She would never be as popular outside Korea.

neither would sissel lol all these so called «models» in Korea that are W concept models and not high end only move to an asian country because they aren’t popular in their own home country (too plain looking). Sad though as it almost seems like «oh I can’t find a job here let’s move to Asia as a backup because they will hire anyone as long as they are ok looking and white»....dunno I feel like it’s a shot against Asia

I find Angelina extremely beautiful, she has a natural “girl next door” quality as opposed to striking/ unique beauty imo. I just don’t like her sense of style or haircuts :/ She looked way better a couple years ago when she dressed more feminine with long hair, i think it suits her more.

Why is she so f*cking cringey.

I need that filter though, clearly makes below average girls look awesome😬

I discovered her channel only within the last couple of weeks or so. She's cute but seems a bit boring... basic?

Does anyone know if she can speak Korean? It seems to be a trend with lots of people moving to Korea / Japan with no language knowledge.
She looks like she knows what's going on when getting her hair cut and the hairdresser is speaking Korean, but she only talks to him in English.

Pretty sure she went to Korea with only the ability to say "annyeonghaseyo" and is now in Korea with the ability to write instagram tags in korean.

But honestly I went through her videos and Instagram.... I think she can type some? but I'm positive she isn't good enough to understand a korean hairdresser. (though I have not seen the video in question)

None of her posts on Insta are written in Korean and when she does respond in Korean, it's correct... but It's so simple that even google translate gets it correct. For now I think it's safe to say she's just a beginner if anything.

lol papago that's affiliated with naver is the most accurate in its translations so I'm deadass sure she's using that. Plus simple phrases....anyone can learn that by living in Korea by now. I would like to see this kboo type longer sentences than just that.

So, it seems like she didn't actually move to Korea until late 2018? According to her Q&A video (that another member here linked earlier in the thread) she said she "doesn't leave for a few more months" and the video was posted March 14, 2018.

I liked her when I first saw one of her videos on her vlog channel, but after seeing her main channel and insta I just can't stand her. She's just another fake girl trying to make it. In that same Q&A video, she states that she doesn't want to study the language, or study at university, and she doesn't know what she will do longterm.. just "entertainment" (again like others here mentioned earlier).

I'm quoting myself but I found the answer to my question, no, she does not speak Korean. This is what drives me crazy, is all the people moving to countries like Korea and Japan with zero language knowledge. These are the same people commenting on peoples videos "English subs pls!" "pls speak English!"

HOWEVER!!!!!! She says that she doesn't speak Korean and that she doesn't want to study in Korea, but she has posted numerous things on her instagram about starting to take Korean lessons in January 2018, and made a post about how she "should learn the native language" in May, two months after her "I don't want to study in Korea/I don't know any Korean" confession.

I also found another post way back in 2016 which I think is her first time visiting Korea. Why did the Korean Bros call her to Korea? What was she doing that's so special? Her early instagram days are flooded with k-pop makeup tutorials, talking about kdramas she's watching, and she has been using random Korean hashtags for words like "fashion" well before moving to Korea. Also, her Korean tags are super basic. "foreign model", "stylegram", "fashion model"

Here's the video in question. It took me forever to find it and I thought I was going crazy, because I could have SWORE her youtube only had a few videos on it, then I saw the linked channel which has 100s of videos. I thought her vlog channel was her main channel and had no idea about her main channel. On her main channel, she shows her hair cut but only shows the worker speaking English. On her vlog she shows him speaking Korean and her not answering him in return. Everything on her vlog channel is in Korean. Korean titles, Korean thumbnails. This is why I asked previously if anyone knew if she could speak Korean but it seems like it's all a front. She doesn't speak any Korean in the videos here.

All insta screenshots that correlate to what I'm saying are in the below.

She doesn't come across fake at all to me, she looks like a down-to-earth girl. It looks like she cares about her looks alot, but there's nothing wrong with that.

pretty sure she means one of those fake kboos that tries so hard to fit in with the korean society by putting korean hashtags on IG and acts like she knows Korean when in reality she doesn't know s*it.

Hidden Content

lol bascially a kboo deep down that tries to hide that she is a huge kboo that has only moved to Korea because of kpop and oppars. I feel sorry for Koreans in Korea lol they get our weird and shitty westerners.

She did a video with a photographer about being a model in korea and she basically admitted that she doesn't fit the standard of beauty in her country but she "does" in korea... I guess that says everything.

Let's face it, the westerners that move to korea to be "entertainers" either have a weird race fetish, or are narcissists (or both).

I think she's cute, it's more about her attitude like gwiyomi stated. She has the same fake front that every foreigner that moves to Korea has. She's a "model", no real goals, doesn't learn Korean, does k-makeup, post about k-dramas and k-pop, etc.

Most of the Koreans in Korea don't realize it. My boyfriend is from Korea and has mentioned to me numerous times that they looooove hearing "oppa" and all of that. He says in America (and perhaps other western countries), it's really easy to see through them however since Korea is still really 99% Koreans, lots of Koreans have yet to meet proper westerners and aren't able to see through the super cringy koreaboo fetishes which is really sad. They think "wow!! these Americans love Korea!" and roll with it.

Yes!!!! I love her Korean features she fits the Korean beauty standard so well :haiplz:

anyone follow her back when she was “howtobecute” on Instagram? this was around 4 (maybe more) years ago. i was a kboo and was fascinated with ulzzangs, and she ran an insta page where she gave tips and stuff to become an ulzzang. she started YouTube and rebranded everything, and now the page is totally gone. i loved her page back then but now i cringe 😂 i have no screenshots from back then but here is a screen shot from a blog/page talking about her:

Edit: this mess of a comment from an earlier vid
