Why is he always so vitriolic when it comes to Lilly Singh? There's always some scary, deep-seated hatred in his tone when he talks about her (he already posted a video years ago commenting on something she did, and I remember him being quite harsh). What's going on? Is it because she's a woman and successful? Lol I don't like using this argument, and I never do, but...he always goes full incel-mode on her.

I mean, to be fair, that's literally what dogwhsitling is and how symbols work. You can find the 4Chan thread where the ok sign joke started. Nazis created and got in on the joke and people who are savvy with that stuff tried to warn others of the potential dog whistle and people didn't believe it. Then a Nazi who murdered fifty people used it in his court hearing and it became cemented as a potential symbol of hatred. That's how symbols work. We assign their meaning, and the meaning has now forever been tied with a mass murdering spree. So now it has a negative connotation, same as the happy merchant meme and Pepe the frog, same as the rising sun flag and the Nazi swashtika, same as the Confederate flag and same as the iron cross. Nobody would have an issue with these things if bad things didn't happen in association with them. So, I don't get why you're irritated with the ADL here. They're not listing things to arrest people over, they're saying if someone spray paints the meme merchant into a synagogue or someone who shoots up a black church in the future with that hairstyle may have been influenced and may have been following along with a group of people who wanted to see it happen.

It was long overdue for him to go on a break tbh, i don't think it will last long, but imo he needs at least 2 months to clear his head and focus on his mental health and behaviour.

I'm glad he deleted twitter because so many of his tweets got him into problems, he is just not made for commentary stuff because he is being passive agressive on subjects when people who he isn;t a fan of are involved and he never gives out the full information.

Also, does he still keep in touch with Brad? I haven't seen them interact at all ever since he quit.

I mean, if you never look at the tweets, same as me, why assume the words of people complaining about it. At that point you have no idea if people are upset that she's just talking about past girlfriends and her family's culture. And maybe discrimination she's faced. First time in this thread and I’m always gonna say what I normally say when pewdiepie is brought up in discussions about him being a controversial/problematic figure:

I remember when I was younger, I was watching him play the last of us, and I swear to god I saw him hold back from calling one of the black characters the n word. I was young so mind you, this was before I even got into being socially aware of anything really. I was just a kid that wanted to enjoy a video. There was this black character, a young boy, who was taking to one of the main characters, Ellie. Pewdiepie kept trying to say “get away from her” and saying anything related to not liking him and not wanting him to talk to her. It got to a point where he was edging near to calling him a word, and then finally he said “get away from her you n-“ but stopped there cuz he catched himself.

i felt so uncomfortable as a child, especially as a black one. of course, I shoved it in the back of my mind bcus I just wanted to be entertained and enjoy his videos, and also I don’t think I validated me hearing that. it wasn’t until a controversy of him saying the n word came up years later that I knew what I saw wasn’t in my head.

I was trying to say like is too extreme to call him this or that when he has friends in the spectrum, not like his actions were right or anything. His behavior was obviously wrong, but I won't call him a nazi or a racist since I think they are kinda like strong words (in my perspective). I still think he is condescending af, he talks like he has better morals than anyone else after he apologized but he keeps screwing up in the same things.

If you really think being friends with someone whose a person of color or being friends with someone whose on the spectrum stops you from being racist or a nazi then boy do I have news for you.

Those very same men go home to wives, daughters, and sisters. Or in the case of incels, spend their life being angry that women don't want them. Why would they even want girlfriends if they see women as so subhuman?

Being kind to someone on a surface level has never been mutually exclusive with bigotry. Felix having surface-level friendships with individual POC isn't a strong indicator of his views and tendencies.

There was tons of talk of buying him followers from tons of people. I feel like if Youtube got rid of a bunch of bot accounts suddenly his subscriptions would drop.

They are lol. People on his subreddit have been making jokes and memes about how many throwaway accounts they made to sub to him.

Youtube won't do anything because their platform will TANK. Pewdiepie is not the only one with fake subs.
