i love mamamoo and all but that MAMA performance was not it. I don't mind the crazy neon outfits and hair but its just looking rushed and weird.

BTS having yet another mini concert just made this thing boring af. also wish they could have just given them all their awards at once instead of being boring throughout the show.

Jyp needs to stop trying to be  relevant and also let his artists rest. Half of GOT7 and Twice looked dead.

also, mnet needs to stop doing got7 dirty. seventeen too. i know it's rigged af (txt getting ROTY top fucking kek) but it's so annoying how they removed seventeen's nominations and got7 video from their channel.

Oneus performance was really good tho, that was fun to watch.

Mnet is just in love with BH at this point, the disrespect to EXO, BP and deserving rookies over and over just shows it to the limit, its a BH show, at least when it was YG's it was entertaining cause they have more stage presence, Im not even bothering anymore with award shitshows since they literally made EXO cry on live stream, I-

Speaking of Mamamoo and Moonbyul. With Moonbyul and Wheein's performance with JYP on MAMA, I wonder if fans who say Moonbyul can sing better than other gg main vocal, and would have been main vocal if she weren't with Solar, Wheein and Hwasa, are actually serious. Who exactly are the comparing her to lol

I actually liked Mamamoo's MAMA performance, outfits and all <.< but that was also the only enjoyable part for me.The stage schedule was shitty (as in many groups would've deserved more time) ,the obvious favouritism and mistreatment of other groups,as per usual. Can Mnet please fade into irrelevancy?

As much as I like BTS as a group ( I enjoy their variety content),I'm getting tired of them being milked for their fame.We get it,from underdogs to Korea's most renowed boygroup. At first it was a nice change to see a bg open up about their struggles on their road to fame but now this fake-woke shit is getting tedious and just comes across as phony and disingenous.I'm not saying that they didn't suffer through all of it,but I think such thing should not be exploited to garner sympathy.

I’m sorry I feel out of the loop, can you explain?

Sometimes K-pop just feels disingenuine to me, because at the end of the day, aside from the few idol groups that get some artistic freedom, 99% of every thing we see is chosen by some group of higher-ups for the sake of making a profit.

Like I'm happy that there are so many girl crush groups recently because I enjoy it a lot more than super-sexy or super-aegyo which I feel aren't the best portrayals of women. But the same time, girl crush is only popular because that's what's making money now.

I wonder if sexy concepts become really profitable again how many "girl crush" groups will be forced to drop their "feminism" and become sexy. Because it's all about the $$$ at the end of the day.

Still mad respect to the idols for working so hard every day but most of them probably have very little power actually.

very ironic. remember when at an award show (cant remember which) the producer said that they would give awards more fairly from then on?

I think that was MAMA the same year EXO was crying? Or was it another?

negl, this was basically how it was with other groups like EXO and Big Bang when they were in their prime, because award shows love kissing up to whatever the biggest company in the industry is at the moment.

kinda funny tho how the same people who brag about how many daesangs/awards whatever their faves have won are the same ones suddenly getting annoyed over kpop being a monopoly as if it’s something new. MIMS

That's literally what I said in my comment but thanks ;)

Also the point of my comment was that things like "girl crush" aren't in style because the 50 year old male producers are feminists and want to spread a good message, it's because right now "feminism" is something we can commodify and sell to young girls with open wallets.

Kpop has realized that women are a bigger marketplace than men and that's why there's suddenly no more super sexy girl groups. AOA went from bootylicious to fierce gunslingers when they realized that's where the $$$ is in 2019. You can still view it as a good change but it's still just capitalism at the end of the day, unfortunately not people trying to spread a wholesome message through music.
