I don’t understand how those exposed celebrities think that they just write an apology letter, quit the idol groups and announce that they’re retiring from the entertainment industry will just solve all their problematic actions or their punishment will be less severe. Just receive and accept your punishment, don’t even think of hiring lawyers, get the heaviest punishment and maximum jail time based on your crimes. Also, even if one of them shared, request for prostitution, or arrange sexual escort services, every of them should get charged for the shared crimes. If any of them gets freed or bailed, just imagine them repeating the same crime. ugh

i honestly think in their cases right now, they are being dropped like hot potatoes by their management company rather than their method of “coming clean and taking responsibility” that you’ve mentioned being a personal choice. Like they’re actually being terminated without discussion. Those company gotta wash their hands, save face, and protect their names in times like this as early as possible you know.

With the guys from Highlight and FT Island’s case, i think they admitted last minute because they knew that they’ll be named sooner than they think since JJY went when he was summoned by police. But boy, they were dropped, banished and exiled by the companies after the admission.

i do find it frustrating how they think reflecting over their faults would absolve them of their crimes in the eyes of their fans. Uhm no honey, what you did was criminal. You know? It’s illegal?

Also I have seen people using this scandal to promote their girl groups like commenting under scandal articles saying shit like "stan unproblematic loona!!1" trolling or not STFU. so disrespectful.

okay that is really disrespectful, just bc their fave idol isn't in the same spot as them (the one with a scandal) doesn't mean they can just say something like that, troll or not. what if just a what if their idol will have a scandal someday i bet they will be the first one to leave their stan.

just as a small break from the scandals - mamamoo's comeback is sooooo good. the song, the vocals, the outfits, everything. (my all time favourite girl group tbh)

People are really jumping the gun saying YGEnt is over. If anything, they'd just replace the CEO position. They've done it with Google, Tesla, Starbucks, etc. When you have a conglomerate that makes money regardless of stock dips, it's easier to replace higher ups then just throw it away. After all, YG isn't just Kpop, they have models and actors too. Worst case scenario YGEnt would go off to be shopped to investors and re-branded. It happens all the time

My unpopular opinion: I honestly dislike the way that kpop is progressing as a whole??

I started listening to Kpop in 2014-2016, and I love the feel and sound most of the groups had at the time. But now it's getting super westernized and it sounds too similar to the music here in the US that I really don't enjoy. My music taste is kind of weird and I don't consider myself a kpop stan anymore because of how the majority of groups are sounding lately.

For example, I really enjoy SEVENTEEN'S old music like Mansae, Pretty U, etc. Ever since 'Don't wanna cry,' the only song I've liked of theirs that is recent is Clap. The rest has just been..not my taste. Hell, BTS has good music but sometimes I just can't bring myself to say I like songs like DNA and such.

Yeah, Idols should have to be 16 at the youngest to debut and 13 at the youngest to become trainees male or female. 8 year old trainees and 13 year old idols are disturbing. Give them atleast a bit of a childhood.

I feel like it’s especially messed up for girl groups, whose target audience is mostly older men.

imagine being a 13yr old idol at a fan sign and having some grown man come up and fawn over you and act all weird when you smile at him YUCK

Mamamoo are extremely talented but their music is like either super tacky showtunes or watered down rnb.
