She never got someone to create her thumbnails either. I don't remember what her reason for that was but I bet it's the same reason she's doing her own marketing images now.

Considering how much she prefers to edit her stuff herself, she should think about picking up a graphic design course or something like that.

For some reason I think she actually might have hired an editor this time. Remember her horrific thumbnails? Unless she learned how to do it she could never do clean cut outs and lines. She probably hired a person and heavily insisted on her own vision and design.

I do like the collages but it’s definitely not a brand level more of personal project level.

I think her SEO (at least for the cafes) is actually okay. Her main target isn't locals, it's expats and tourists looking for things to do in HK. Considering that she can't speak any Chinese, probably the smartest part of her business plan is her target audience.

If you're a tourist or someone who recently moved somewhere, your searches are far more location bound than anything else (e.g. if I just moved to London, I'd search 'best cafes in London' instead of 'best [specific] cafes in London', unless you have more specific tastes like you want to go to a comic book cafe or whatever).

The deciding factor for this business is if she made it budget appropriate, i.e. if she took into account that not everyone's married to a millionaire.

SEO isn't just the topic of the blog. It's about the descriptions of your webpages, headings, etc. Machines don't read your blog, you need to tell it what to read and display. How she has her headings styled is very unfriendly for digital eye and reader tool (for people with poor/no vision) complicated. Also, the part that starts with "We're toats..." is where your SEO goes. It's just pulling from what she has written on the page, which means she hasn't actually done it. She's not going to show up at all on the first page of Google with this because it's being read as filler and not direct communication from a human. They also don't match from page to page.

The wig looks so cheap on her, she had a much better looking one before. It was black, I think.

I also can’t get over the fact that Hong Kong is crazy right now - there was tear gas in almost every district yesterday, tonight won’t be much different from what I can see, and she thought it’s a good time to show off some of the shit she could afford and yet got for free.
I get why she doesn’t want to speak up - she could have been eaten alive on her Weibo account, but I rather don’t see her at all than see those stupid freebies.
Maybe I sound bitter but it’s annoying seeing someone in the same place like you who talks about amazing bath bombs while 500 meters away from me there is tear gas right this moment.
She probably doesn’t even realize how sheltered she is.

Sorry, rant over.

The free stuff and gifts are completely obnoxious. Two apartments, money to spare, no real job or volunteer/charity work, but look at what these companies give her. It's nauseating.

BeautyPlus_20191113154738126_save.jpg

imagine if Taylor took a stand against the trend of rich people getting free things by paying the companies for these products

imagine if she donated their retail prices to a charity

imagine if she up-front told us she donates a certain amount or percentage to a charity every month or year

imagine if she went to volunteer somewhere every week or even month

imagine if she had an opinion on something, and not just because it's trendy

imagine if she and her husband - who contribute to impossible beauty standards - funded surgery for people with cleft palettes or established a place where low-income HK people could receive free clothes for interviews

imagine a Taylor who was not so obsessed with herself, and everything that Taylor could do

it's a shame

This might be an unpopular opinion. She should NOT by any means make a statement about the protests. As someone who is a social media influencer (and in China) there's no saying what can happen to her if she speaks up. I think it's seriously not a good idea for her to say her opinion online, despite the fact that she likely does care about what's happening. I mean, it's not hard to miss if you live there. China has done worse to actual celebrities who spoke up about communism and China, then retracted their statements out of nowhere. Expecting her to make a statement about it is ridiculous.

That said, I do think it would be nice to see Taylor do something charitable. She does have the extra money, and it would really show her in a good light. I barely watch her anymore as her content is too cringy. I think her doing something for a cause would make me rethink just how engrossed in herself she is most days.

I hate everything about this.

This look is so incredibly ratchet, I never want to see this wig again.

Honestly if she didn't wear that wig and the baseball cap, tied her hair in a ponytail and wore some smarter shoes this could've been a look. But instead, looking like a wannabe Kardashian again.

And yea... I'd rather her say nothing about the political situation in HK. It would be the dumbest move on her part, and she should just stay quiet both because she's not an expert in the topic and it will not do her or Tom's business any good. It's basically a catch 22 bc no matter which side she comes down on, she'd just be flamed by the opposite side.

Also she already said something in one of her videos a few months ago where she herself stated that bc she's not an expert, she knows it's not her place to say anything (and then I think she said something generic about wishing everyone safe). Taylor's far from stupid; after seeing how netizens reacted to that one article on one of Tom's sites, I'm sure she doesn't need a PR specialist to tell her what to do in order to avoid controversy from here on.

I never said she had to say anything about the protests. Don't you think there are other ways of supporting HK or the world that don't involve politics? I can think of many. Donating blood, clothing, food, or water isn't political. The protests and unrest in HK affect people who work there, elderly people, homeless people, students, children, animals.

But Taylor's silence and PR boxes, her selfies and her "lifestyle zine" tell me all I need to know about her concerns.  And before people say she never discussed serious stuff: she kind of did, a little. When it was profitable for her.

I suppose it is harder and harder to have respect for someone who has all the resources in the world, with very few responsibilities, but whose volunteer/charity work is almost non-existent. This great business of hers = recycled photos and blog posts cobbled together from old videos. I noticed she took the cringey videos of her mom visiting Tokyo down, since she spent a chunk of the time taking her mom to big chain shops and doing timelapses at Starbucks.
