It says she's used 700,000 yen this month.  

 

Other way around-- she spent like $2k and has $6k remaining

 

Actually, it's pretty easy in Japan. You just have to live here for 6 months (minimum) and go to any department store. If you have your bank info and stuff you can get a credit card within minutes. The interest rate would be terrible, though.

 

Thanks for the update, my information must be a bit old. I remember a friend complaining they couldn't get a credit card without a local guarantor and other nonsense

No problem! :alpacacrush: It was probably more difficult in the past.

I think you only need a guarantor if you want to rent an apartment in Japan. The renting part might be difficult. Lots of foreigners get rejected from renting some apartments here purely because they're foreign [even worse if your citizenship is not from a developed country]. :alpacaheadshake:
