That date with herself video is a re-upload from her Japanese only channel (which I’m presuming is no longer a thing as she’s abandoned most of her alternate channels as quickly as she started them).

I know it’s a really weird thing to say ... but it’s really gonna bum me out hard if Venus actually does become a hooker. Like, bum hard:alpacadone:

I don’t see her going down that road, personally. It seems like she sees herself more as a “businesswoman” with a company that puts together and promotes “events,” and maybe being a “Celebrity Manager” of some of these girls, like Margaret 2.0. She’s apparently trying to sell herself as a “world-famous Youtuber” despite her past events showing her following in Japan is pretty small, i.e. very few people showing up to see the “famous Youtuber.” And if I recall the few who did show up were non Japanese weebs. It doesn’t seem like Japanese people give much of a shit about Venus Angelic.

Maybe she can attract more people to this upcoming event with these other girls, although I wonder who would be interested in paying $46.50  to see them wearing yukatas since they both make their living either shaking their butt cheeks onstage or showing their naked boobies on Patreon.

It’s kind of amazing to me that she seems to think money will just magically come to her while putting less than minimal effort into what she’s trying to do. Showing up to events looking unwashed and greasy with no makeup and clothes that look like she slept in them. I mean at least wash your hair, trim your raggedy nails and put on fresh clothes for gods sake. I’m talking about the most basic hygiene here, that is apparently too much of an effort for this girl.

Well, Venus's youtube started off as dance videos and she seemed to want to be an idol at that time. Even later all her videos were always tagged with "idol", "gravure", "u-15"(which means "under 15 y.o. gravure"), an even her "living doll" pictures were often creepily suggestive, that's not even mentioning that horrifying video in a Japanese sports uniform, so is it even that weird that Venus probably always wanted to be an idol or a talento, no matter which kind? Though there won't be any novelty even if she really becomes a gravure idol because she won't be the first non-Japanese to do that, remember that girl from Beckii’s group who later became a gravure idol in Japan, and she was more popular than Venus in Japan, and yet hasn't achieved much with her career.

You mean Kelsey Parnigoni? She’s that @kerupani/@misty_burlesque person who is appearing at Venus’s upcoming event. She’s a dancer at a place called Tokyo Burlesque these days.

I'm late, but am I the only one who feels as though the only reason Venus tried to get a job as a bar girl is because she gets free booze and can drink on the job? At this point I wouldn't put it past her lol.

I dont understand why she keeps on lying about getting a job..is she embarrassed about her reputation or....she still hasnt got permanent residency?

Like the managing a girls bar thing was a lie, and the managing jvloogers thing is a flop and may be a lie too..

Who is she trying to fool with this? Venus just finish your education and get a student visa, that is easier than these fake ceo jobs you keep talking about.

Look what other events this @kaisen_masaya pub is hosting, lol

E317F605-274D-41ED-95D7-807B6C95D2E9.thu

a “Changwon Girls party” also featuring 3 girls for 5000¥ admission and all-you-can-drink, last Saturday. ahahahaa

Also on 8/8:

1432E20E-2702-4339-843D-04124E194A7F.thu

with the same 3 girls.

So this is something they do regularly. @Salty Salaryman can you tell us what is a “Changwon Girl”? Changwon is a city in South Korea so I guess they’re South Korean but is there some other significance?

I think she meant Gemma Cruel, regarding Beckii.https://www.instagram.com/gemmatokyo/

This Kelsey Parnigoni/kerupani/misty_burlesque person is a former idol too.

Kelsey Parnigoni is (was) a Canadian idol based in Japan. She was a member of Hajirai Rescue and a founding member of Jelno!. She left Jelno! in late 2014. (I have no idea what any of these groups are, I’m just copy pasting from this Jpop website.)

At any rate, she’s now a dancer at this burlesque place in Tokyo and making an appearance with Venus and some porn-y cosplay girl at a pub next week.

To be honest I don’t care if Venus becomes a hostess/e-girl/kyabakura/whatever and I think most people don’t IF that is what makes her happy and what she really WANTS to do. But then she should be honest about it; I can understand that people worry that she just does it because she desperately needs money

She most likely does it because she wants to learn how bars work. This Izakaya thing does not seem like a real job she does regularly. It looks more like she tells them she's a youtuber who can promote their place if they take her for a day and show her how bars work. I doubt she applied for the position or created a resume or attended an interview. She just says youtuber and they take her. That's very different from a real job reality.

It's the same as the malice thing. She said she did it because she wanted to see how a start up was like. She had no intention of going through with it though (probably set on the advertisement thing & just using the malice manager as a stepping stone). It was more like a test to her, and according to lolcow, an anonymous former friend claimed she screwed him over in business matters and wanted to f him. This seems likely after her own comment of using the manager to learn how 'start up culture is like'. As for malice not working out, she blamed the manager as not being experienced enough and letting her post whatever she wanted. She takes no accountability. Like your momager is too controlling. Then when someone let's you post whatever malice content you want, they are also bad. Can never win with her.

There is a really good interview with a former JAV actress Emiri Okazaki on youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfVwr2F26mQ&t=48s) and she talks about why she and many other Japanese girls became porn actresses(except for money reasons) -  because they wanted to be famous but didn't have any particular talent and opportunities that would make them famous and porn is a quick solution. She also said that many worked hostesses/kyabakura before going into porn. It certainly makes them happy in a way but she also talked about what happens afterwards and what she understood years later about happiness and such.

I'm worried for Venus because it seems like she's out of her depth right now and susceptible to be taken advantage of by all kinds of people. She's obviously going through a rebellious "I'm old enough to take care of myself" but she it still 22 (23?) and without wanting to sound patronising, 22 IS very young. That's the age most people get out of uni, start their first jobs as an intern or entry-level position and slowly learn how the world works. The advantage of that is you have many years in your 20s to fuck up but the consequences of your mistakes are usually very harmless. 22 year olds do not start companies, hire employees and try to run multiple business models at the same time. That is a recipe for disaster, especially when the person still needs a lot of help with MH issues.

Venus only has substantial work experience entertaining people in front of the camera. Her unique selling point was a mixture of cutesy weeb culture with an off-the-rails real life story. She's the living embodiment of a broken soft girl which is what resonates with so many people. Her channel was still active and her best bet was to continue producing content to satisfy her audience. She could have taken inspiration from current SM trends and rebranded in a lofi style, explored themes like minimalism, environmental issues, 90s nostalgia etc. Tokyo is a goldmine for filming unique content like that.

However she was clearly in no place to revamp her channel and is fairly out of touch with the rest of Youtube. I'm fairly certain Malice was genuine at the time but she's backpeddling after the huge backlash. Youtube culture seems quite different in Japan compared to USA/Canada/UK etc. I feel many companies see Youtubers only as a small step above hostesses, idols or enjo kosai. In the west, companies tend to view Youtubers as access portals to a younger target audience that can't be reached through traditional media. So even though many Youtubers end up quite commercialised, it's on a fairly harmless level. The things that Venus are getting involved with in Japan seem slightly more sinister, she's portrayed almost as "bait" for people to visit a bar, restaurant or event.

Of course, Venus arranged everything herself and not the victim of a manager or agency. However she probably doesn't realise that she can only operate within the existing ecosystem for online entertainers in Japan and she needs to be extremely savvy and self-aware into order to make choices that will benefit her.

I mean, Venus doesn't have much to offer for companies in Japan anyway, the only appeal she has is her Ytube subscribers (which is not much by today's standard) and foreign looks, she got no skills, not much audience left, the only thing she can do that I see she did well before is going to places, filming it then edits

She can improve in acting since she got into that play but even then we can see she doesn't take it seriously, even though that can be a stepping stone for something in her career

(Oh she did design the costume as well, but has Venus shown interest in fashion design other than buying it then post on Insta?) Venus can do loads of stuff, but seems like she needs quick money for booze or something

It's like you have to hand her money to make her do it but I think there are loads more Ytubers they can choose to do that

I don't get why she doesn't use some makeup for her videos and that king of things... does she wanna look bad on purpose? I mean, she doesn't even have to be good with the makeup... just some some mascara on her eyelashes, some pinky color on her checks, lips, face...

Her face looks so bad with no color, and her lips and eyebags are dark/purple.

My skin is so pale and my face usually looks like if I were sick or dead lol, so sometimes I use a bit of makeup when I wanna look good.
