Day 6 and MORE CAFES

Yes it's a struggle which should tell you there are other more popular drinks amoung Koreans to order. How about you make a video on popular foods amoung Koreans maybe you might dubunk the myths surrounding foods Koreans eat since I know there are assumptions that all Koreans like certain foods which they might not due to kdrama and kpop.

How many videos has Sharla done on Korean cafes or cafes in general?

I'm confused why she thought that was so complicated (obviously aside from the fact that she doesn't speak Korean, but her friend did it for her entirely anyway). Where I'm from in the U.S. it's standard for boba shops to ask for sweetness level, ice level, and what toppings you want. That's just... how boba works...

Maybe a unpopular opinion. But in my opinion there's nothing wrong with liking mainly the pop culture side of a country, that doen't make your interest any less genuine than people who are interested in historical buildings or museums.  but... At least do something INTERESTING with it. Mix it up a little, and stfu about Pokémon for one video, come on! your interests can't be THAT limited. Talk about the Otaku culture, the very obsessive ones that go into hikikomori the casual ones, the 'shaming' that can come along with it, the history of it. Current subculture fashion trends, favorite and or upcoming video games/music/anime,Interesthing/rare gadgets, internet trends/scandals. Even her interest in pop culture is soooo limited, how many videos can you make about Pokémon? I know she once said she used to play saxophone. That would've made a interesthing side of her channel, Q&A about music the saxophone, beginner tips, tutorials/covers, just a story about how you got interested in it. So sad she lacks any sort of passion.

I think this is a great idea as well, but Sharla strikes me as someone who thinks otaku culture is gross. Nakano Broadway is as far as she went because it's cheap and you get a lot of Pokemon shit there. Did she ever go to Akihabara? Ikebukuro? Why did she never visit themed cafés in Tokyo?

But yeah, she does lack any kind of passion and I think she's only into Pokemon for so long already because it's easily available all over the world. She'd never be interested in any other anime because that means effort only to watch it. And now she's not in Japan anymore anyway, so she's gonna drop everything Japanese that's not available in Korea like a hot potato.

Same thing in Canada (Vancouver at least), all the bubble tea (we call it bubble tea in Vancouver) shops have those options when ordering. Very few stores I know don't have such options but they are usually independent stores: they aren't big named stores from Taiwan.

I find that interesting since I consider Pokemon part of Otaku culture but then again Pokemon is aimed at kids and has less die-hard fans so that might be it. I'm surprised she never bothered going to Ikebukuro since it's really nice there and less male-dominated compared to Akihabara imo. She's simply lazy and if she plans on dropping everything Japanese while she's in Korea I feel like her content will be even more boring cuz it seems she doesn't know much about Korea or what it has to offer.

Sharla gives me the impression that she's the type of person that could make any country seem boring

She probably did go to Ikebukuro in some of her videos (I remember something about a matsuri they randomly walked into there), but she never showed the otaku aspect of it. At least not that I'd remember, the only thing that stuck to me is Nakano because she kept going there constantly (and personally I really didn't like it there). The thing is, she always said that there's nothing to do in Japan for her anymore after ten years but that's such a bullshit excuse for being lazy.

Maybe I'm the only broken ass student here?  Why nobody is wondering how she affords going to every café out there every day? But hey, she doesn't have money to travel lol

Every beverage costs around 5 dollars, if I did like her I would have no money to eat now

Sharla just commented this on Taylor's new video. I'm not sure if it's:

a) just plain hypocritical;

b) low-key admitting she's only collaborating with certain vloggers for views/popularity boost;

c) being delusional enough to think nobody notices she's only collaborating with certain vloggers for views/popularity boost;

d) all of the above

What a strange comment, especially from Sharla (who often has one other youtuber in her own vids). Is she jealous of Taylor's popularity and trying to lowkey sabotage her growth by keeping her from collaborating from other youtubers?

What gave it away? :haiplz:

A new thing on the list it seems: Pokémon, cats, tea, G-Dragon and Korean cafes.

(OT: autocorrect tried to turn that into G-wagon lol. The Patreon would have to do very well for that.)

I actually thought the deco phone case cafe from the other day was kinda cool. If it was a unique cafe like that maybe once a week or something I wouldn't mind so much.... honestly with how much she seems to love them, she could probably make a series of it. Like 'Cafe of the week'. Then we'd know when to expect it instead of expecting it with every single video and unsubbing instead. :P

Sharla easily could designate one day of the week to introduce interesting cafés on. Something like "Café Tuesday" and then she makes a proper ten minutes video about one single café, showing what's special about it, the interior, the menu, a short review of how she liked it and maybe the area around it if she can't fill the ten minutes. That actually would be interesting and nice though, so I doubt she'd ever do something like that.

OT but aren't there like, staple household faves? Like a certain food that close to everyone in a country has?
On topic: We have some of that here so it would be fun to see that being debunked. Would be quite an interesting series but then again.. That would require minimum effort and that's not exactly Sharlas gig.
