Felix could be able to get a Specialist visa (since he has millions from what he does) or if he starts a 'company' here as a shell for his YouTube channel, that's another legal avenue. Keira i thought was on that specialist visa as well when her working holiday ran out.

I thought that was an off handed comment, I didn't think he has seriously considering buying a house in Japan.

Ok, so since it's quieted down some, I think I can share what little I learned while attending the youtube hanami this year.

I saw Kat from katlovesosaka.  I thought she had left Japan, but apparently she just deleted her channel.  She has a new one called Kat in Japan or something like that.  She said she wasn't going to make anymore videos, yet this channel exists and seems like she makes vids . Idk.

Also, I learned that Erica (panda goes to Tokyo) and her boyfriend broke up, but she pretends like they haven't.  She will say she does things with her boyfriend but there are no pictures of them together, and other people have confirmed that he has not been with her for a while.  All so very strange.

Also, I talked with Victor and he doesn't get why people leave the community to make their own community and it seemed like he was hinting at TC and those who joined them.  Like, a couple TC people showed up to make an appearance, (probably to do a colab) and left.  They barely stuck around.

All in all, the hanami was very fun! It was sponsored by goose island beer.  Phoenix kept pushing it whenever he was on camera and told everyone to #gooseisland on social media, but behind the scenes everyone said it tasted like shit and no one really wanted any.  Since Phoenix was bleeding money for the event, I think he took any sponsorship he could get.  And despite the crappy beer, it was still really fun and I had a great time.  Didn't even realize the time went by.

Shame I couldn't go this year. Stuck in the land down under til next month haha

I remember Kat from the Mira drama. She seems to be a bit of a drama queen in her own right but it could just be me.

I've had goose island quite a few times. They have a bar in Chicago's airport which I go to during connections, and they sell it readily at the gas stations in Cali. it's not bad but for the unacquainted craft beer eye, it might be a bit too much, especially the IPA. IPAs are really bitter beers for those who aren't accustomed to them. But yeah I did see on social media that Zach was pretty much pouring most of what he had into the hanami. I don't think Zach would just take any sponsorship though. I saw a few videos of him drinking goose.

He said it's gotten tricky recently because of what Logan Paul did in Japan's suicide forest, now American (or western?) youtubers have a black mark on them

https://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/index.html

These are the types of visas available to live in Japan. This has nothing to do with Logan Paul, being a Youtuber doesn't qualify you for any kind of visa as you are a freelancer. If you get a visa by just being a Youtuber, you're scamming immigration in one way or another. You could set up a company for your channel or something, but currently a business manager visa takes over half a year to get and you need to rent an office, you need a Japanese bank account, you need a sound business plan etc etc etc. Just "making $$ from uploading videos" doesn't work.

It looks like TC has been able to jump around some loopholes and make it happen even though "Youtuber" isn't in any kind of visa category, but without a Japanese company (at least one like TC) behind you it's 100% impossible to self-sponsor a Youtuber visa (thank God). I assume that as time passes, companies like TC trying to pull one over on immigration are going to make the visa process even harder. I'm sure they are listing these Youtubers as company employees, not talent....because that's the only way they could get these visas, and yet, these Youtubers are not companie employees and are not even earning $$ directly from the company sponsoring them. It's legit illegal what they're doing and I hope they all get caught.

Have you watched Emma's recent video? Seems like her visa expired and she didn't notice and TC hired a lawyer for her. Now she has the normal 3 months long tourist visa and can't work, so she had to take down videos from the time where the visa has already expired and can't stream because it could be considered as work.

She mentioned something that TC was involved in her old working visa. Seems like TC really is only a company that provides visas to their "influencers" after all.

I just mentioned this on Emma's thread, but I'll say it here too.

This just seems to be testiment to the fact Tokyo Creative isn't run that well. How do you employ influencers without being aware of their visa status and even checking in on them. If you've had an employee for nine months on a visa, wouldn't you then make sure they've started their process so you can update your records?

(Also, how can you be on three different types of visas and not know how visas work Emma?)

TC hired a lawyer for Emma? Wow... I underestimated TC's funding. When I was getting my visa a few years back I had to go through an expensive process. Filing paperwork itself costs a good deal, and the lawyer fees are high here.

How do you simply forget that your visa expires soon? Losing focus on it and the deadline getting close, okay, but completely forgetting about? Those people need to check their priorities, especially since they're bragging with being experts on visas... (embarrassing)

So... They've basically turned her 'dumb mistakes' into fodder for a video so they can get more traffic and all? Ok...

Now Osharegirl got lipfillers too... Why are lip fillers such a trend? Did I miss something? Are beauty clinics giving out free fillers for foreigners?

Imo for her it doesn't make that much difference but as long as she's happy...

For the visa issue, do u think its all for drama? Japan is very strict with their visa policy, I dont think Emma can get away having an expire visa for months without the immigration finding it out, could she?

Well, I don't watch her, but her lips were pretty small to begin with. I'm not surprised she wanted them done. I mean, at least she's telling everyone immediately?
