    • Clarifying How To Use the Report Feature   06/29/20

Hello. I have noticed a great deal of confusion regarding how to use the report feature and what is expected regarding reports, so I am making a clarification announcement to users who may be unfamiliar with how the report feature works. Please note we have this rule regarding reports: 16.  Do report. Do not make frivolous reports (such as "I don't like this person"). Frivolous reports will result in a warning and possible ban. a. When reporting, please give a reason. Reports citing what rule the post is breaking and giving some information are way more valuable and will get the issue resolved faster. (Reports with no explanations sometimes require mods to go through and skim the entire thread to find out what's going on. Please save us time if you can). b. Don’t waste the mods’ time. Report people for breaking the rules, otherwise don’t report. [Rules in their entirety can be found here.] We also have a wonderful tutorial on how to use the report feature created by one of our former moderators which you can find here. In essence, we enforce the rules as they are written. In a rare occasion there may not be a direct violation but the user is still conducting themselves inappropriately and how we handle that is up to the moderators discretion. We do our best. We also encourage you to use the report feature to report posts that have been edited down to nothing or if you double posted and would like your double post hidden. Also, please note that we do not provide updates on reports. We get far too many to be able to keep up with every one. You are welcome to message a moderator to ask about your report, but please know that we cannot and will not divulge any information on whether we banned the user you are reporting. Simply that we have taken appropriate action. I hope this helps provide further clarification on how to use the report feature. Should you have any questions not clear in these instructions, please feel free to message me or Nyx. Thank you. *Please allow up to 3 business days (as we tend to be slower on weekends) for a response and for reports to be cleared.
    • Reputation Has Increased!   07/06/20

Hello. You have been asking for it and it is finally here. We have increased the number of reputation given in a day from 25 to 50. We will see how well 50 works out and if that is enough. Please continue to provide feedback and we will reevaluate as needed. This change has been added to the site changes thread located here. Happy repping. Thank you.

her trip is all over the place. how can she take in the experience if they stay in one place just for a day? How can you enjoy something if you are running from a place to another?

I bet she will say that she visited all europe once this trip is over and, I'm sorry kenna, but you didn't. You saw a museum, after a museum, after an airplane, and a lot of bnb rooms.

Thought I’d answer your spoilered question below as someone that’s autistic and loves to travel! This is all based off my own experience btw, I can’t speak for every single autistic person out there:

For context, aside from a few cruises and travel within my own country (USA), I traveled semi-solo to China the summer of 2018 (total of 2 months, I stayed with a host family and did stuff with them, but also went out and traveled around by myself/with strangers on many, many occasions) and I will be moving to S. Korea completely alone in autumn of 2020. I like traveling with people but I prefer to do so alone, at least initially, if that makes sense. Making local friends is very fun for me!

I tend to suffer from pretty severe anxiety overall, a lot of it related to my diagnosis, but, for me, two things factored into my ability to be able to travel and have a good time: 1) My desire to learn languages and other cultures is high enough to make me want to do it regardless of the discomfort I feel, so I have enough motivation to be willing to put myself in an uncomfortable situation if I think I’ll be a better person from it, and 2) (this is the way more important one) The typical societal pressure/knowing certain aspects of the culture that would normal be put on me is negated BECAUSE I am foreign, which is a big help for me. Let me explain.

In the USA, I am expected to automatically know what certain body language means or that you shouldn’t do such-and-such when you talk to so-and-so, which, as an autistic person, I had to pick up more manually, and has made a lot of life stuff difficult for me. Sometimes, people even get mad if I don’t automatically understand those things! Abroad, though, it’s automatically assumed that I’m learning the cultural stuff and body language and whatnot, so, in a way, I’m given a pass, even encouraged to keep learning about those little cultural intricacies. It’s both a relief from that typical pressure and motivation to learn more, for me, since I don’t have that guilt of “Not Already Knowing”.

Basically, locals of the places/countries I travel to won’t expect me to act like they do in the first place, which is a relief to me as I don’t have that daily pressure, but at the same time personally motivates me to learn more about said body language/intricacies of their culture just to have a better cultural/life experience overall, even if they won’t ever EXPECT me to do so. I hope that makes sense 😅

If anyone has any more questions, feel free to let me know ❤️

Edit: I hope her friend motivates her to step out of her comfort zone and try to eat more things that aren't American pancakes and sugary foods

She’s made so many more posts displaying the beautiful things in London and Rome than she ever did in Japan. All that time her fans asked her to show some real Japan content to no avail and now she’s churning out the pictures like mad.

I guess places are only magical and worthy of photos to her for the first week or so until reality hits.

If you've been keeping up with her stories but never interacted then she probably saw that activity and got paranoid. -_-

Eh, maybe she just wants to have short burst experiences and see as much as possible in short days. She won't see everything, but she's already seeing waay more than I ever did. Restaurants, landmarks, museums. I don't really fault her for that, I think arguments of "why is she not staying longer, she's not absorbing the culture properly" are in a little bad faith. While I don't doubt she's going to come back The New Euro Expert because she was in Rome for two days, until she does that I'm holding off. And hey, it's not like she doesn't give us plenty of opportunities to judge- she wasn't in the continent for two days without comparing countries and having to defend herself to her "antis" lol

its making me wonder if she got some type of european travel package deal, that would explain hopping places and going to known tourist trap places.

Kenna took more photos in the 7 days she has been in Europe than the literal months she has spent in Japan. Calling it, but she will probably move there because she feels like she doesn't have to create content, it's just there (like how she felt with Japan but then quickly became disenchanted). She wants it to be as easy as possible for her to just snap pictures and try to make content (and money) without putting effort into it. Culture vulture to the max.

i'd gladly take kaila's pictures anytime compare to kenntruck's lifeless pictures, the brown filter is too sad.
