The prom I had, it was interesting. There was a school sponsored prom yes, but right after we (Friend group) rented a big hotel room that costed like 4,000 and we just partied there all night. We had fun and just went off! It was an amazing day for us

Mine was about 9 years ago. I almost didn't go because I thought I couldn't afford the ticket or dress. However, a friend of mine had an extra ticket, so I went. For my dress, my mom and I found this organization at the time that gave prom dresses to girls who couldn't afford one, and I found a really beautiful purple one (which I still have). I matched them with silver shoes a family friend lent me. My mom did my hair, and my older sister lent me her camera to use for the night. While at the prom I didn't dance, but spent the time talking to friends, eating and taking photos with people or the decorations. The theme was like a winter wonderland, which I thought came out really pretty.

I did get a little annoyed with a few people wondering why I didn't dance, but I ignored them. They seemed surprised I was there in the first place though lol which was funny to me.  I stayed until the end, so I didn't regret going. I went home afterwards and just talked with my family about everything.

I went to 3 proms in total and they weren't all that. The first one was memorable since it was our first prom night but the other two were eh. It just depends on the people who you're gonna be with tbh. The only fun thing about prom is the rave-like dances, which only takes 2 hours of the whole event lol.

It depends whether you want to go or not.

Australia calls them "formals". Some schools have an annual dance that they have with other schools but I didn't have that, so it was just the formal. I went and I don't regret it. It was a full day of pampering and getting ready with my friends, my friends booked a hotel room in the CBD for a sleepover but I didn't partake in that. The venue had a waterview but once it's dark, you can't see that. Food was crap. The risotto was so undercooked, the rice was crunchy. I never wore that dress again. I'll never really understand why one of the girls from high school chose that same venue for a wedding 2 years later.

My sister didn't go to hers and no regrets. She's never really one to be social and she didn't want to spend the money.

Super boring! The best part was dressing up fancy and hanging out with my friends. I'm glad we went out to dinner before hand because the only refreshments given to us were fruit cubes and ice water. Also the theme was "casino" but the only thing they did was give you a pack of cards at the entrance

I wanted two things out of my senior prom 1) Cha Cha Slide 2) cake, and I didn't get either of them. :alpacamad:

OMG, my formal was so bad haha, it was mandatory that we had to go so we could get our highschool diplomas (is that what they're called??) dancing was mandatory and I was the only one who didn't have a partner so I was the only one sitting out, the food was cold trash, my dress was custom made and was somehow fitted wrong so the top of my bra was poking out and my false lashes weren't glued on properly so I looked really funny, the venue sucked and served really weak alcohol (we were all 18), couldn't fit all of us in and I tore a bit of my $200 dress on some construction stuff.

But, it was nice hanging out with my friends and we took some nice ass photos together that I still really cherish, so that's a plus.

Well, I didn't get to go to prom because I was homeschooled junior/senior year (due to my crippling anxiety,,,amongst,,other reasons), but even if I wasn't no one would've asked me anyway, so I wasn't too worried about it.

I didn't go to mine either, but I am from a cheap school where most students were not super well off so I know it was cheap. I have never been into parties, but what I like about weddings and events like such is the pretty decor and fancy or cute setting. Since I knew my school wasn't gonna have anything like that, I didn't bother. That was 8 years ago, and I still haven't felt actual regret. I think that part of the Pretty In Pink movie were Iona tells Andie that her friends has side effects from skipping prom was kinda funny though.

I wasn't excited to go but my friend insisted that I come but I didn't enjoy it.  I'm an extremely shy girl and was very uncomfortable wearing a dress since it didn't have sleeves and I felt naked. Also my classmates forced me to dance and it was so awkward for me. I ended up wandering by myself in the garden most of the night.

I didn't go to mine too and I think I was the only one XD. I don't regret it at all, because I can't stand loud music and most people weren't nice plus I don't drink alcohol and I heard the food sucked. The "games" they played weren't funny to me and I wasn't willing to pay 65€ for a ticket + 200€ for a dress, when I would not have a good time. The parents were there at the beginning too and I would have to hang out with the friends of my (ex-)friend, who were koreaboos and I was angry at my friend and she didn't noticed at all. I had the best day of my life at home instead 😂
