    • Clarifying How To Use the Report Feature   06/29/20

Hello. I have noticed a great deal of confusion regarding how to use the report feature and what is expected regarding reports, so I am making a clarification announcement to users who may be unfamiliar with how the report feature works. Please note we have this rule regarding reports: 16.  Do report. Do not make frivolous reports (such as "I don't like this person"). Frivolous reports will result in a warning and possible ban. a. When reporting, please give a reason. Reports citing what rule the post is breaking and giving some information are way more valuable and will get the issue resolved faster. (Reports with no explanations sometimes require mods to go through and skim the entire thread to find out what's going on. Please save us time if you can). b. Don’t waste the mods’ time. Report people for breaking the rules, otherwise don’t report. [Rules in their entirety can be found here.] We also have a wonderful tutorial on how to use the report feature created by one of our former moderators which you can find here. In essence, we enforce the rules as they are written. In a rare occasion there may not be a direct violation but the user is still conducting themselves inappropriately and how we handle that is up to the moderators discretion. We do our best. We also encourage you to use the report feature to report posts that have been edited down to nothing or if you double posted and would like your double post hidden. Also, please note that we do not provide updates on reports. We get far too many to be able to keep up with every one. You are welcome to message a moderator to ask about your report, but please know that we cannot and will not divulge any information on whether we banned the user you are reporting. Simply that we have taken appropriate action. I hope this helps provide further clarification on how to use the report feature. Should you have any questions not clear in these instructions, please feel free to message me or Nyx. Thank you. *Please allow up to 3 business days (as we tend to be slower on weekends) for a response and for reports to be cleared.

Someone on GG pointed out that her saved Instagram stories for David under the name "beeb" is gone. I had seen it within the past two days, but she must've gotten around to finally deleting it. So I'm assuming they have broken up.

And, as I've been wondering since she started showing him on her channel, what is she going to do about all her videos with him? Is she going to address the breakup because she was so public with him?

I intially thought that it's surprising that she has low standard in men but I think it says a lot about her.

I just think she's young you guys and she's just trying to figure all of this out. We don't know what happened in the relationship. For all we know she could have wised up and realized she could do better? Or he broke up with her and did her a favor? Either way it could be the best thing for this channel.

Did they break up on the trip back? Last I saw they were visiting her family after New York and then there was talk of them breaking up here. I'm definitely glad it won't be all "WE HAVE SEX" all the time now, but I do worry she's going to complain loads about NOT having sex now in every video. Still annoying when she's a fashion focus.

does anyone else find it kind of strange that Jenn Im is following David but Ashley is not?

Anyway I hope she really did leave him because from the GG thread on her apparently he’s kind of a sleazy guy. I’ve always felt that he was kind of a bad match for her and she was more into him and enamored with him than he was into her. From the beginning of their relationship he said he thought influencers were stupid and he had no respect for them but turns out Ashley is one. It just shows how he has no respect for her job whatsoever. And he also said that he didn’t find her that attractive when they were first talking so I thought that was pretty messed up (this was from a deleted ig live). And for all the people saying this is her first relationship, he was her third relationship and I really hope she finds someone who is more in line with her personality and respects her as a person and cherishes her because I think she really deserves love and not a bunch of sleazy dudes.

i hope she uses this breakup as motivation for her videos and she gains more confidence

Well this is her first relationship as an actual adultier adult...Now that she was in her final stretch of school, really looking to move out on her own without flatmates etc. It really changes the dynamic of a relationship as opposed to begin in the early stages of school, potentially living with parents and so on.

Anyway I don't think they had a great time in NY, their other trip was also a bit of a disaster from what I can remember about the video. I'm guessing their differences were magnified and something happened. Well, we will see in the future. I guess IF anything did happen she is keeping it a bit more private to work through it herself first.

I was rewatching her older video and she said that her name - bestdressed - is cause she was voted as best dressed in high school. And idk... she always tells how horrible her hs style was?

I think in her junior and senior year her style probably progressed. Again she is from Suburban Maryland so I don't think she had any stiff competition with other girls lol

I'm really glad to hear she's out of that toxic relationship. I was a huge fan of her videos but when she started featuring David in nearly every single video and dropping sex jokes where it was unnecessary, I found her extremely unbearable. Break-ups suck but I do wish her the best and now that she has all this spare time, she can focus on her confidence, her goals and the future of her YT. There's a discussion over at GG of how she can sustain a Fashion Channel. I truly think she can if she really puts all her time and effort into creating unique and fresh ideas instead of churning out "Thrift flips, how to style etc etc".

Everyone had a bad style in high school. And those "best dressed" or "most handsome" kind of votes that end up in the yearbook are rarely an accurate representation of reality lol. Those votes tend to go to the popular people, which makes me wonder, was she popular in high school then? Because she always makes it look like she was a quirky, underdog, nerd. Teenagers are dumb, what else is new? Everyone in her school most likely dressed pretty badly and she might have dressed slightly better than them. I remember i used to wear purses in my senior year when most girls just wore backpacks and apparently that made me fashionable lmao.

Slightly off topic, but I don't follow a ton of fashion youtubers. I'm just wondering how that kind of channel is sustainable unless you have a LOT of money and sponsorships? Like isn't it impractical to buy new clothes every single month, and they'd have to expand to other kinds of content? Or do most of them burn out after a few years?

I know a specific channel called "Wear i live" (she has great style btw, recommend her), and her main focus is sustainable and ethical fashion. All of her hauls are thrifted or from sustainable brands. She has struggled to grow her channel for the past 2 years or so even though she puts out content consistently. I can't say if its specifically because most people aren't into fully sustainable fashion or if its because her content is not good enough (she puts out very boring, repetitive videos sometimes even though she can also do very good ones). I've said this before but it is hard to grow a fashion channel that is fully based on sustainability, mostly because there is only so much thrifting videos you can do before people get bored and sustainable brands become really expensive unless you are being sponsored by them constantly or you are rich. I do know of another channel on sustainable fashion which is "Dearly Bethany" and i think she is a better example on how you can put out new content without buying new clothes every week. She gives actual good advice on clothing, fitting, quality, trends, realistic but stylish outfits, and brands to invest on. She doesn't thrift at all though, she mostly buys sustainable brands that are very expensive for the average person but her content is still very good.

Ashey is not sustainable at all though. I think she is already showing signs of creative burnout even though theres so many topics on fashion she could do (but you have to have a good consistent style to begin with, and she doesn't have that). Ashley has been running out of ideas, which is why lately she's been putting out very irrelevant content quite often (david, "i have sex, im cool",etc).  She doesn't have David anymore though (i hope), and i don't know how long she can rely on the vulgar liberal girl trope exaggeration before even her worshipers get tired and stop watching her.
