Oh! Thank you for that! Sorry and excuse my ignorance but again thank you at least I learned something today, I didn't expect that.   :D I don't get your reply, when did I ask this - how to pronounce it? but I think you didn't read the article, they didn't mention Huang but Ayche. Sorry, maybe that's just me. I'll read that article again.

her real name is Wendy Huang. She changed her Facebook name to "Wendy Ayche" because "ayche" is how you pronounce "H" and she did not want to put her full name on Facebook I guess. Or maybe she hates her last name. Or maybe it makes her feel special. Who the fuck knows.

She was not born as Wendy "ayche". I'm sure her Chinese parents gave her a Chinese name since she was born in China. You can't believe everything that's written on some random article. I don't know how to make it more clear to you sorry.

Here, why don't you have a look at her LinkedIn profile - https://au.linkedin.com/in/contactwendyhuang

That is what I am saying, who the f*ck has that last name? I know she's Wendy Huang, I just got surprised when her name actually changed Huang into Ayche. What's wrong with Wengie? She change everything even her last name, I just don't get it. @Lindann thanks for the clarification 9_9

it might be so it's harder for people to search for the 'old' wengie (pre plastic surgery etc) since that would be a really bad look on the companies that hired/sponsor her

Her Chinese name is Wenjie Huang. That's what's showing on her Chinese weibo account. I guess Wengie was from Wenjie. I thought Ayche was Max's surname for one second but hang on.... haven't seen him in her videos in a long time and she's not wearing her engagement ring in the most recent vlog either. She's back in Sydney. And where is Max!? He's still on Reacticorns but those videos can be well pre-filmed.

(sorry for my bad English)

Yesterday I found this topic and, honestly, I was shocked. I stopped following her after her channel turned into that DIY monter. Specially after de video about how to lose weight fast (that was horrible and damaging in so many ways).I remember following her and even being a fan a few years ago when I was going through a really cringy koreaboo phase (I still like kpop and kbeauty but not in that stupid way...the shame is real)

Anyways, I remember wanting to be like her so bad. She was so cute and so thin and so perfect. Or so I thought. I can tell all the influence she had on me. I really thought she was naturally that perfect because I admired her so much I never thought she would lie about photoshop or plastic surgery. And I know that today many little girls still admire her and want to be like her. Probably, they even feel bad (like I did) because I they want to be that pretty when in reality there is more plastic than skin on her face.

I am really dissapointed she never said those things clearly.

Another thing I want to say is that I never noticed how bad her makeup skills were. No wonder why she stopped doing toturials... Thinking that I followed her tutorials makes me cringy really hard.

I'm also quite new to this thread. And here's my story *dramatic sound effect from Law&Order: Special Victims Unit*

I used to follow, like her and kinda admire her looks during her ulzzang phase. I wasn't that aware of Korean beauty ideals at that time, so I was't like "HOMAIGOSH DAT V-LINE SO PURRRFECT!!11!" but I found her really cute. I'm actually quite naive, so I never noticed how obviously she had too much shitty PS. I'm ashamed to tell I thought of her as "naturally pretty"... but now I gag at every picture from the side with her wobbly jaw... yikes.

Thanks to PULL, I wasn't only able to know the truth about her looks. But I spent some time here to scroll through the beginning of her "tumblr unicorn"-phase (took me quite some time to find her first life hacks-video lol). Because I REALLY needed to know how that had happened.

I wasn't subbed to her for a long time because of her boring content, but when I came back... Holy F*CK! Her main channel is now like every youtube/tumblr/internet cancer COMBINED! It shocked me how much of a sell-out she became because I honestly couldn't believe it...

I really wondered what had happened to that cute and "sincere" girl. But when I read you guys were talking about her fake giveaways... F*CK. It suddenly dawned on me.

When she slowly started those giveaways, I remember I took part in one. It was only on her blog though, I think. I only saw a handful of comments on her blog (one of the "activities" that'd get you more chances to win) and I didn't need to use Facebook, so I figured why not? It was about some (expensive?) lashes, you could decide between two different sets and I liked both. And wanted to experiment with fake lashes lol.

Long story short, I read her whole entry and fell for one of her tricks... She said you'd get an email from like the provider of the blog or something? Some automatic email, but they can OFTEN be fake emails with a virus or something. I don't remember her exact words, but she made sure to emphasize it A LOT. And she made it sound like her fans told her that to prevent others from responding to those "fake emails". I thought it strange how many times she repeated that fact, but assumed it must be a real problem. And that if I'd win, I should never ever answer those emails because she said she'll announce the winners on her blog. It was clear she only wanted us to react IFFFFF she does.

Guess what happened.

Right.

Nottin'

I was disappointed but idk, I just assumed not enough people participated so she decided to cancel it... But now I think she did it on purpose.

I WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY WON BECAUSE I GOT THOSE EMAILS GOD DAMMIT!

I didn't know Wengie was such a snake... :alpacadone:

No wonder she changed so much, went from boring to absolutely hollow... It's a shame she is SO GODDAMN TREND-DRIVEN. I can honestly of the life of me NOT understand that kinda mentality. How f*cked up must she be...?

TL;DR: I'm not that sour about not winning her fake giveaway lol but I'm shocked of her snaky-ness and disgusting character. 'Nuff said

New to this thread here, so...

Have so much to say about Wengie but basically it has already been said before

Can't remember if anyone has ever pointed this out before but OMG "______ HUG!!!" at the start of each video is absolutely cringey. You're freaking 31 ughh

Even when I try to put myself into the shoes of her demographic (aka tweens, little kids) it still creeps me out

I am also someone who has lurked every now and then without bothering to make an account. I actually used to really like her. I always knew her makeup skills were pretty much non-existent, but at least she seemed chill.

I really hate the type of Youtubers who are super energetic, loud, fake, and childish. Plus I don't care for DIYs and life hacks since most of them don't do much other than waste supplies and space.

I kept following her content and was subscribed to her for a long time (well, maybe it was only about a month... but it sure felt like a long time) after she changed her entire personality/channel simply because I used to like her videos. I actually don't care much about how she changed her content to match her new target audience. Whatever makes her the money, right?

The only real thing I am kind of annoyed about is how she ignores people asking for beauty related videos and has pretty much turned into a new person overnight (which I am sure is 1000000% a fake persona).

I suppose this also has to do with the fact that I despise grown-ass women (and men.. if there are any) suddenly going on about how magical unicorns/rainbows are and how much they LOVE them. I, too, once had a unicorn phase. I thought they were the best ever. (Although my obsession was because they had pointy horns and could stab people, but to each their own.) This phase lasted about a week or so. When I was 8 years old. They act more childish than actual children!! Does this bother anyone else? Or is it just me?
