    • Be a moderator! & Reports Announcement   03/07/19

We're aware that PULL needs more moderation and attention, so we're actively looking to expand our mod crew! If you're a regular user and intend to stay this way, then rest assured that we're working on improving PULL for you. In order to do this, we rely on user reports, so I'd like to take this opportunity to ask everyone to report posts you think break a rule, disrupt discussion or shouldn't be allowed.  There is absolutely no concern over getting too many reports - we get a handful of reports per week. More reports would be great because it helps us figure out how our users want the forum to be - leaving criticism in threads doesn't make it easy for mods to find your opinions. Furthermore, don't worry about being a "snitch" or too harsh - a report doesn't mean action will be taken, that's up to the mods. A report really only tells us to look at the comment and to gauge the community atmosphere. Often times, peer pressure or established community atmosphere will dictate the direction a thread takes, and criticizing certain posts can be uncomfortable or downright futile when the majority disagrees with your view. This leads to groupthink and degradation of thread quality because the loudest/most active users get their way. So reporting is a way to quickly and anonymously (to other users) give feedback to the moderators. If we don't get this feedback, we think everyone's happy and there's no need for change. So use this feature as much as you'd like to help shape PULL into a more constructive community again. If you'd like to be a moderator: Click here for the application form.

I'm a few episodes into BNHA and I'm honestly struggling to see the appeal? Idk the plot seems kinda cheesy and boring. Does it get more interesting over time?

Paradise Kiss: I'm glad Yukari and George didn't end up together. I didn't like them as a couple at all...

And I couldn't stand Miwako.

You know what, I want there to be a girl who gets all the hot guys! What happened to the reverse harem? I want to see a male version of Aqua! There is currently Meiji Tokyo I guess, but I mean like a true reverse Isekai version.

Inuyasha

but i mean yeah i get what you're saying.

there seem to be a lot of people that don't like nanbaka, including someone i know who rated it a 2...

meanwhile, i found it entertaining, it's a bunch of stupid antics and not exactly the most cohesive show plot wise, but episodically it is enjoyable for me, so I really fail to see what people see that's so terrible about it.

also, the art is surprisingly good considering i wasn't all enthralled by the art style before viewing.. but it looks soo much better animated and the oversaturated palette does the show a favor, unlike many other shows with high saturation colors.

PMMM is a great show, but its Western fandom invites a slew of elitists who can't accept anything less than a masterpiece. That's what happens when a show starts out really strong and written by someone very talented with a high budget.

Mahiro getting a girlfriend came out of nowhere and the fact that they never bothered to show how he and Mimori started developing feelings for each other is just lazy writing. Sure they had some connection when they first met but Mahiro was in love with Aika. He was loving and angsting over her from beginning to end but at the end of the series he has a new girlfriend all of a sudden?

When did he have the time for this?!

The same reason a lot of crappy stuff spawns more crap while good shows and etc. get cancelled, popularity, it's why franchises like Pokemon or Dragonball can be lazily made and keep going.

Also not to sound elitist here but it is really a casual anime that appeals to young people, American and Japanese alike, because of the MMO setting and the self insert Kirito and his harem of cardboard cutout characters.

SAO is just a .hack bootleg

it really bugs me when something becomes a hit, it will spawn a bunch of forgettable bootleg shows and I can't tell if people lack self-awareness watching rehashed shit or they don't mind watching the same cheap trash

it also bugs me a lot that it only takes a subversion of whatever hit theme (loser-otaku-in-another-world/lowkey sisterfucker) for a show to be called "well-written" nowadays

i want to see more anime with monster girl/monster boy characters that aren’t fanservice. i absolutely adore monster girls and monster boys, but i can’t stand the massive amount of fanservice that is typically associated with them. a bit of fanservice is okay (because it’s a normal trope in anime) but too much grosses me out. i’m looking at you, monster musume.

While I can see the appeal of Kaguya-sama, the joke and characters really are nothing special. Asobi Asobase is comedy and fluff done right AND better.

The crunchyroll awards were their worst in 2016, when erased and YoI won fucking everything. YoI was only special in peoples eyes because it was one of the few anime out there with a male x male relationship that didn't portray it as abusive yaoi banter. Lest people forget that No.6 did that first. On a technical level it looked nice, but in terms of sports anime stories, YoI was nothing special and didn't deserve to sweep the awards that year. As for erased, I read the manga and was seriously pissed at how they adapted the villain, it was pathetic and made me drop My initially mediocre score by two more points. Also the villain was the only one I was rooting for in that series. Like YoI in an art level it looked nice, but unlike YoI eraseds story sucked absolute ass and paved over multiple details that the manga had- dangled hideous pedophile fujobait towards the end episodes in front of the viewers faces with the villain and satoru... I just can't with that show. It could've been better, and a-1 ruined it. I know a-1 doesn't have the most stellar track record, but they have done better shows than sao/erased and shit beforehand

OT but still anime related: I really like the designs of the characters in eromanga sensei and oreimo, even if I can't stand the shows. I also think if they weren't fetish bait, and actually had plots that weren't overshadowed by fetish bait, they wouldn't be entirely shit shows. The "students penning light novel" premise of eromanga isn't utter shit and could've been okay if they didn't pander to drooling creeps all the time. It's sad because both shows are a waste of good character design. And some of the girls who have potential to not be shit, like the book keeper girl in eromanga, or Muramasa, or even Megumi once u take away the fetish bait, are reduced to nothing or totally shit pedo pandering. Like I could've seen Megumi helping Sagiri try and go back to school and leave her room in a sweet and non creepy way, but I guess I shouldn't expect anything. What I'm saying is that if you take out the incest and gross fanservice pandering there is story potential for a slice of life school series that does not suck ass. But of course, they have to pander to the gross masses of weird Japanese pervs. Given that the author himself seems like kind of a creep (of the original LNs) I'm surprised I can find any redeeming factors beneath the oversexualized grody nonsense

YOI plot wise was pretty repetitive. I liked the anime, but it wasn't memorable or life changing. It's pretty obvious that if either Victor or Yuri were a girl, and it was a boy x girl romance then it wouldn't be as popular. I agree with you on No.6. It did everything YOI did first but not a lot of people know it.

I liked the live action of Gantz, I thought it was well done for what they did!
