Lmfao I thought that too but then again he's got some weird fetishes. I really wish he'd leave her alone though he's so awful.

LMAO, but on the other hand she's a vulnerable young lady with body issues, quiet and sweet, probably easily manipulated AND makes him feel like a big strong ~Intellectual Hero. That's probably sending mixed messages to his Oniboner

The entire public reception to Eugenia’s anorexia and attempt at recovery has left me so cynical. I absolutely hate that everyone did absolutely rude things to Eugenia literally just to make themselves feel better. I understand there’s a helplessness to watching a sick girl kill herself and being unable to do anything to stop it, but it shows society’s true nature that everyone was more focused on forcing Eugenia making them feel better rather than Eugenia herself. And then Eugenia goes into recovery and once again society pats itself on the back.

Like I already knew this was how society worked, that its morality is shallow at best, but seeing it depicted so vividly and callously with Eugenia is nauseating and disappointing.

I am in no means support Eugenia's behaviour but I felt nauseated when YouTubers hopped on board with the wave of her issues to gain fame. She needed support and compassion as much as anyone with an mental illness does. She might have been aware but at the beginning YouTubers were as supportive as what they have recently presented. I hope she recovers and it isn't too late for her. The only person who seemed genuinely concerned about her for me was pewdiepie. She was a bad influence on her young impressionable audience but let's not forget that it was projection of what she was to herself. I still believe she tried to make her audience confident or at least happy. It was a recipe for disaster imo.

I don’t know why but I just keep thinking that she is seeking treatment because something happened, maybe she collapsed and the doctors were like, Eugenia you are close to death. Or she’s in a coma or worse she is actually dead.. I dunno I just got a weird feeling about it.

I think this will probably be the end of her social media presence tbh

I noticed since december Eugenia wasn't so active as usual. She tweeted, streamed, made videos of course, but gradually less and less.

So maybe then she decided to go to the therapy? And ended up at inpatient treatment?

We don't know anything, we don't know if she ever comes back.. I don't think she's dead, because her friends (like Jaclyn) would say something. We can only sit and wait what will happen.

does anyone here have science-y knowledge that could explain some of the issues eugenia will face even if she recovers fully from the disorder? i know anorexia and restriction are AWFUL on the heart and she will likely have a weakened heart which is pretty serious, and will probably suffer from issues relating to bone density/strength etc, but i'm just curious (as much as that makes me sound like i'm just here for the popcorn, which i'm not, i've always had legitimate concern for this girl) as to whether she'd have a decreased life expectancy or something etc.

and mods, if this isn't allowed or treading too closely to armchair-diagnose-y type stuff, lmk:alpacacrush:

[rolls out freudian armchair and tobacco pipe] good news [shallow huff on the pipe] many mental and physical complications from restrictive eating disorders can be reversed (e.g., cardiomyopathy, reproductive problems). proper nutrition and other interventions aside, unfortunately, the longer someone practices an eating disorder, the more challenging for his/her body and mind to heal. all this is to say, only her treatment team can really comment on her prognosis

from experience your digestive system is forever f*cked up and severed if you suffered and succeeded in recovery. you would need supplements like probiotics and vitamins in order to get the digestion going. Recovering from an ED makes your body go through different stages, as when you start being admitted your metabolism will skyrocket (if you are Anorexic) and thereby losing weight is inevitable and endangers your organs that are hanging on of failing (for instance kidney failure is one of the main concerns for doctors that is why patients are put into bed-rest stage for months as a result). the second stage is bloating and edema and aches everywhere, you would need counselling because it challenges every aspect you have striven to reach. when a person overcomes his/her demos and overcome these hurdles, it is when really recovery starts. It is a path paved in thorns and heartbreak. hence, it is crucial to have a profound and genuine support system. I am not a medical specialist but i am still walking that path because i want to live and what i have learned is from various visits to the doctor's office through and through again. There is a channel called what *What Mia did next* where she explained a person isn't truly recovered till they reach the 5 year mark. Needless to say that eating disorders aren't exclusive to thin or *emaciated* individuals that's why it can be a silent death sentence for others drowning in their own shadows. i believe Eugenia has a will to live and it might just be enough to pull her through.

If she is in therapy I doubt they will let her use SNS, it will just make it worse.

as similar as symptoms of starvation are, bodies do recover differently, which is dependent on multiple factors; most notably, length of time someone practices his/her disorder or other health predispositions specific to an individual. we do not have access to this information,

no doubt she will struggle with some health complications for the rest of her life, however many complications during starvation and/or during refeeding can be reversed. in the original question, the user asked about residual long-term consequences of restrictive eating disorders after suffers have "fully" recovered, not about refeeding syndrome or other refeeding complications

attempting to "guess" these long-term-chronic-health-complications/consequences for eugenia specifically falls under "armchair diagnosis," which the original poster also commented on
