Hi all, I paid the server bill for the month so the site can be archived, sorry for the mess, didn't realize there'd be such an uproar. The site's in read-only mode. Happy archiving. Here's a link to a user-made PULL discord server: https://discord.gg/vZFEm75
Thank you, that’s helpful to know! I had been under the impression that MCNs could help someone get a work visa. I’m actually surprised a vlogger/streamer can get an artist visa. So do Breaker get their money from the companies who want to promote through them, rather than the influencers themselves? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
Hi sorry if this is a bit off topic. Does Breaker Japan count as an MCN and if so, does that mean it doesn’t sponsor the visas of its influencers? I’m doing a bit of research into Breaker and this seems to be the best thread to ask about them. If it’s the wrong thread to ask I’ll take the topic elsewhere.
I prefer honesty to fakeness 100% of the time, there is nothing more obnoxious to me than another comfortably middle class white woman talking about how hard her life is and how much she cares about black people from her mostly-white neighborhood. At least you know where you stand with xiaxue, she's entitled to her beliefs and she's easy to ignore. To each their own, I guess. Yeah that was pretty much exactly when I stopped caring. Sadly a lot of people become boring after they have kids, bloggers or not. It's like they forget they have a life and personality outside of their children. I feel so lucky to have parent-friends who are still awesome.
At Pride London in the past they have booed and chased away actual gay people who are supporters of particular political parties, so it seems even among gay people you have to have certain politics to belong or be 'real' gay. And Political Correctness is not designed to protect the listener, but to protect the person speaking. It doesn't mean you actually give a shit about the people you are 'supporting', just that you know the right things to say. I'd prefer her to be honest, even if she may upset people, than to pretend to care like so many SJWs.
I don't agree with a lot of what she says or believes but you can support gay rights without being always adhering to PC or being an SJW. It's a shame you have to be hard left to be accepted at a lot o these events.
I get the feeling she is desperate for someone to talk to about all the shit going on in her life (dunno if things are really all that great between her and her bf, plus being in Fukuoka separates her from most of the J-vloggers), and maybe because she knows people are wondering what is up with her (because there is clearly something wrong) and feels she needs to get something out there, even if it isn't the whole story. But as you say, all it's gonna do is stir curiosity so it comes off as attention-seeking.
Sorry to be a pain, would it be possible to PM to me, too? I've just been on lolcow and...yeah I'm probably not gonna be able to navigate through that. Edit: On Topic: I don't know why she bothered to post the Orbiez thing? Who would really sit and watch that?
I'm not in anyway saying that they have, just that we're assuming it's only Mimei because her shade has been obvious. The others might have shaded her in ways and references that only she would get, things that were said in private or whatever. I'm not on Mimei's side, I've only watched a couple of her videos and to be quite honest, I think she's a bit of a weeb. All I'm saying is that we don't know everything, so we can't take Toph at his word until someone spills (likewise we can't view Mimei as a pure victim either). TL:DR - we don't have enough data
Isn't it possible that J-vloggers have thrown shade at Mimei but have done it in such a way that viewers wouldn't get it? Maybe Mimei is just less subtle about it. The point is that we don't know, we don't know anything. Everyone looks bad right now.
The problem is that everyone in this situation is throwing shade in all senses of the word - it's dark but there's nothing of substance. That's why this is so frustrating. Either spill it or zip it. As things stand now, no one looks good, they all look like drama queens.
