We've heard you loud and clear - negative reputation is back. Remember that it's still against the rules to complain about being downvoted - if you think someone's mass-downvoting posts or otherwise abusing the reputation system, DM a mod and we will take care of it.
It looks like a rented workspace. Not a place that she outright OWNS, and pays a mortgage on. Nevermind the equipment. I agree... I doubt she knows how to operate most of it. It honestly looks like a rented facility, and I wouldn't doubt her pawning it off as "her own".
Renting a studio will not change the quality of her content. Even if she hires a full production team to create a set, design a wardrobe, edit frames, and enhance the sound, you can't spin shit into gold. Her days of pulling a large audience based on her quirky self discovery story, are over. She's wrecked her brand... and I think she knows it. Excatly. Case in point: 5 years ago that "voice acting" video would have had a totally different reception: "She's coming so far!" "Good for her for trying!" "Keep up the dream, Venus!" But now? Too much has gone down, for the focus to be shifted off the bullshit. Anything other than the truth is seen for what it is... damage control, or a cover story.
If memory serves, I think film-version of her role is just a person in a bear suit. Maybe that's why they wanted her to voice act? To dub? (If so, jokes on them for attempting continuity.) So... she's the voice of a "teddy bear" in film...
but also "Student Council Member #2" in the flesh - on stage...
tbh, I'm not offended. But many people would be, and you'd think Venus would give a damn, based on the fact that she NEEDS people to support her social media career. Honest opinion: She was too shit faced to pretend to care! Hard to give a fuck when that liquor is on your lips!
Right? Like again... sure. Social-political stuff may be different in Japan... but is she really *that* under a rock? Is she really *that* unaware? Lmao! Like... she knows most of her audience is in the West, right? Just... holy crap. I can't decide - Is she monumentally ignorant? Or is she just plain arrogant?
Greg being surrounded by drama is so normal by now - I bet the big drama channels think it's old news.
Blaire White - is she considered "big"? - covered it briefly, a week ago:
Anyway, anything that relates to Onion boy to pedophilia, grooming, and abuse, is all white noise at this point. I bet the majority of the larger drama channels have yet to dig deep, simply thinking that their suggested videos are old.
It'd be surprising, at this point, if she follows through with anything. Anyone wanna place bets on her excuse this time? 5 bucks it's her poor internet connection. I'm actually glad she's not keeping up with her lofty schedule. I hope she's getting burnt out, and decides to step away from the spotlight all together. Only thing: I think she's addicted to it. It looks kinda like a love hate relationship. Loves the attention, hates the work.
right? it's hard to decide how "on board" she was before this fiasco occurred. like, did some rep contact her agent, and she was advised to do this for extra income? or what this really her literal dream: having a skincare line. (I kinda doubt the latter.) @sk2 is right though. The beauty industry is dependent on leeching off of everyones' vanity, money, and self esteem. Women, men, and kids.
She's gone back and forth with sharing her private life. She's refused to disclose in the past, and can refuse now. She decides to share her private life when she can gain validation, attention, and sympathy. She shares it for therapy too. These aren't good reasons to go public, imo. True. But on the same token, she's pandered in livestreams for $2.44. I don't think she believes she'll pay next months rent with 1 "My Divorce" video. But, she wouldn't do it at all, if she didn't think it wouldn't be productive in the long run. Jenna Marbles does that too. Along with dozens of other online personalities. It's not a coincidence that the long term, successful content creators, keep their dirt offline. Business wise, it's just a good idea. And, Venus wants to have 2 businesses now: social media and her company. That's double reason to protect her private life.
Tldr: Over-sharing with fans will never be good for Venus; financially or mentally. She needs to realise this, or she's gonna keep making the same mistakes.
Ditto. If she does, it'll only illustrate 2 things: 1.) She's just like her mother: she'll use anything for money and pity grabs. Interesting too, how much she wants to put these private events on blast. Almost like she's trying to prove something. Well... too bad the internet isn't the *real* court that judges her. 2.) She's not ready to run a legitimate company. Seriously. Who wants to know their boss like this? What kind of management thinks it's a good idea to air their dirty laundry? She reminds me of a narcissistic Michael Scott, lol! C'mon dude... at least try to appear professional?
It's super sick. I'm on the fence about wanting an official response from him. One on hand, he could probably squash this topic once and for all... on the other, he could simply be choosing his battles. I wonder how much of her smear campaign actually reaches him, too. Not that a language barrier can contain everything. I also wonder if he has been advised to ignore her tantrums, for the sake of legal proceedings. Whatever the case, her refusal to deal with this situation privately speaks for itself.
guys my brain is spinning. wtf is this?! is this serious? Like... I think it is! I think he's so shook right now, that he thinks this is some next level art or something! (uploaded yesterday:) I really wish I understood the lyrics, but his was "singing" was far beyond comprehension! ...I don't have the strength to watch it again Oh well! Dude is off his rocker! (what's new?)
oooof. ok. So, Malice: At one point, this past Spring (?), Venus decided to change her YT channel around COMPLETELY. She decided to make it a "virtual yotuber" channel, complete with a new host: Malice. Malice was a cartoon character, and a part of a squad of other virtual YouTubers... but it never went anywhere, due to Venus's lack of follow-up. There are way more details, including allegations that Venus slept with the manager of this virtual youtube squad... but nothing substantial came out (imo.) I think she just got lazy, discouraged, and depressed... so Malice inevitability flopped.
Exactly. Social Media is a HUGE part of her issues. She seems completely addicted to it. On one hand, she uses it to propagate this perfect image of who she wishes she was. On the other, she uses it to put herself down, for attention and validation. She attacks genuine supporters, panders to orbiters, and focuses on negativity. If she didn't have social media, she'd be forced to change into a different person: Someone who socialized in intimate circles. Someone who developed life skills, suited for "the real world". Someone who coped with trauma efficiently. And, someone probably be better off, in the long run. The hypocrisy is real.
Dude... nice photo recall! And, wow. I remember ranting and raving about that previous post... how she seemed so together, and healthy, and full of self love... Fuck. How things have changed... How wrong I was. *smh*
The fact that she is bringing attention to Suicide Prevention Week, and fundraising for crisis lines, is so freaking awesome! Her personal story is touching alone, but she's going the extra mile here. She's not just uploading another "I got bullied, and it gets better!" story. She put actual thought into this video, and she's using her platform both wisely, and emphatically. Fucking GOOD for her!!!
side-note: Good for her on promoting therapy, too. A LOT of people shit on it, and while it's not a cure all, it can be SO beneficial, with the right doctor. I think it shows she embraces the heavy lifting part of recovery.
Whatever it is, I don't think she's the owner. I think she's just hired to be hype it up, and be the "face" of it. She probably just has fun saying it's "hers". It's the kind of grandiosity you'd see from Margo. But, if I'm wrong, here are some other guesses: 1. A MLM, like you suggest. (And if so... nuff' said, lol!) This does seem super likely. 2. Social Media Management; an idea her mother came up with, for herself, a while ago. Interesting choice for Venus, since she hasn't been able to manage and maintain her own fame, to date. I wouldn't trust her, personally. Aside from not leading by example, she's been erratic emotionally, and unstable habitually. 3. Promotional PR for local businesses; Restaurants, boutiques, leisure activities, etc. (Seems like a fruitless venture, seeing that only a minute % of Venus's followers are actually in Japan.) And, even if she DOES own this company... I have little faith in her ability to keep it running. Regardless of partners or staff. Venture capitalists, with years of education, experience, and resources, flop their companies all the time. Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Donald Trump. They all falied *at least* once, with their companies & investments. I'm not saying Venus is doomed... but I am saying she has zip for eduication, and zilch for experience. Guess we'll see!
