chinese is my first language but i did not grow up speaking mandarin. the only real insight i can give is that her high pitched voice sounds more natural when she's speaking chinese. her speech structure is pretty similar in both english and chinese. she would say "i think people that like _______ would like this." also i noticed that her terminology is so much better with chinese. for example, i don't think she would be able to describe the molding process in the last candy kit if she had to explain it in english. even in chinese, her videos follow the same boring and generic pattern.
here erika is with her lemon girl sour girl bitter girl look,,,it looks like she smeared yellow paint on her eyelids, grabbed yellow fruits off from her kitche table, snapped a pic, and called it a look
lmao about the decent quality thing, she gets most of her stuff from taobao so idk. her style is pretty cute but i remember she talked about wanting to go for a more serious-cut-crease makeup style. this could just be here changing her mind and wanting to go back to the kfashion pastel type style.
爸爸 isn't really a childish term, the direct translation isn't necessarily daddy. for example, an adult can address their father as 爸爸. if you want to be really formal, 父亲 would be the word. i don't think she was referring to trump as america's daddy, dad was most likely what she was going for.
also i'm curious about what her parents think about her relationship. i remember someone touched on maybe she has that relationship with her boyfriend because she's afraid that she won't find anyone else and doesn't want to be labeled as a sheng nu (剩女). sk-II did a little advert and documentary on this chinese culture around being a sheng nu. even though yumi might be in america, i think she still has that pressure to marry due to her age.
