We've heard you loud and clear - negative reputation is back. Remember that it's still against the rules to complain about being downvoted - if you think someone's mass-downvoting posts or otherwise abusing the reputation system, DM a mod and we will take care of it.
exactly. people talk about being performative to seem like a good person to her followers... its this - after donating, screenshotting it, and posting it for her followers to see, she turns around and continues to colour herself darker and work on the same kind of art that does not accurately represent women, period. supporting the black community is deeper than throwing your cash at them. its a complete rethinking/overhaul of how you act, even if you might not think you're being blatantly racist. i hope her art drastically changes.
not to mention with everything happening right now with the protests in the US after george floyd, she's proud to be chinese only when she can use it to benefit her art/seem more diverse, but when it comes to checking asians in general for being anti-black she's reaaally quiet you're allowed to be confident (when everything happening is so uncertain, and people feel helpless, i get it), but there's a time/place for everything, and posting thirst traps, inviting people to your home, getting tattooed/tattooing people at home, during a pandemic isn't it... especially if you have a significant reach on several platforms and choose to be quiet about it. THERE ARE REAL ISSUES GOING ON, BESIDES 1 NEGATIVE COMMENT ON 1 SELFIE. check your damn privilege
asking for help is a little more justified this time. i'm not too sure about her situation and whether she's eligible, but the canadian government made it easier for people to qualify/apply for financial help (especially because of covid) i'm sure as a person who's also fleeing from an abusive situation, there could be smaller foundations that offer support too
yes i will say that was a reach. but are you just gonna pick this one out of all the other ones that actually show her copying/tracing? interesting mentioning any fast-fashion brand to defend your point also doesn't really help... they copy designs/produce similar things in order to pander to their audience, and it works (they've also been called out for copyright infringement and copying smaller artists, but ok). for an INDIVIDUAL who studies at an art school, yes there is a standard that i'd expect, and it doesn't include plagiarism.
mentions that on hindsight, she felt like she was taken advantage of when she lost her virginityfelt pressured by her ex to have sex"hookup culture is extremely glorified with social media use these days... i've partaken in it... its also a way to meet new people and make new friends. just take it lightly"got asked "oral sex advice" said basically its different for every guy, but "you could watch porn and analyze what she's doing to make the guy feel good"talked about double standards - said its fucked up because women get called a ho for sleeping with a lot of guys, but guys get called a fuckboy and its a compliment (probably not the right wording, because i've never met anyone that got called a fuckboy as a compliment lol)objectification/men are trash, but women also objectify men. "society tends to make women the victim, while men can also be victims" (i get what she's trying to say, but again, horrible wording)"women have started to objectify men more and more, like height, dick size, calling them "wallets"... and everyone should just be treated fucking equally""don't compare yourself to others on social media because its mentally draining and unhealthy... whenever i scroll through social media... i never really compare myself to them cause i'm like "that's negative energy and i shouldn't be doing that"" (thought i'd include this because of the irony lol)uses eyebrow shavers to woman-scapethen she talks about flicking the bean and relationships
does it bug anyone else that they're touring wedding venues right now? i know it depends on the state, but considering the current situation, going to so many places and meeting with different people seems so unnecessarily rushed... like they're doing it only for the content while its still relevant i know people who have had to cancel their weddings and ceremonies this year, and it just seems so unwise to do this now. highly doubt they'll be able to get married at a venue with people in the foreseeable future
i feel bad for her tbh... i think her wanting not to put a strain on her family made her act the way that she used to. she wanted to grow up so fast, she chose to depend on the people who just showed her any type of love and support, and ended up bringing 2 children into the mix. i really hope she figures out a way to support herself
even just googling "neon manga instagram artist" gives me soooo many similar accounts... why'd she only have to @ them two? its actually so sad seeing one of them quitting art because of this its so petty and unnecessary

so many newer "social media artists" would rather use their sexuality to sell their artwork rather than actual hard work, but i mean it works (coughalythuhcough) the frustrating thing is that beneath the social media/clout chasing tendencies, they have 0 knowledge about techniques and history, 0 willingness to learn, and their following helps them get away with being so lazy. rather than doing any kind of exploring on their own, they rely on trends to keep them relevant, but if ig and youtube were to be deleted tomorrow, they wouldn't be able to survive. jasmine doesn't interact with any of her followers unless they're giving her money for tattoos or prints, and if she's really planning on working with more people in the future, she's gonna have to pick up the damn slack and also learn how to manage herself as a business
"i don't get the point of writing essays.... like how is gothic marxism going to help me in the future? its not gonna do shit" "...as i try to figure out what the fuck is going on in my essay! i'm sooo confused as to what i'm talking about!!!" lol girl....... it shows. this is a horrible academic paper, even for middle school standards
(that concept is actually really relevant to capitalism in the US and how it affects its people, but for someone who couldn't even try to empathize with people who aren't privileged, i'm not very surprised that she doesn't understand) i'm starting to think that the reason why she doesn't like writing essays isn't because she's lazy, but she's just unable to absorb anything slightly academic. this could also explain why she resorts to copying work instead of trying to come up with concepts of her own in her final critique of her painting class, i still can't believe she said "i feel like its not worth the money if its going to be online i guess" no matter what context that's in, i feel like that's a slap in the face to everyone else - her prof, and her classmates... for someone who willingly drops bills on something as trivial as clothing, but is stingy about art supplies totally baffles me. her general comments about not finishing painting assignments/projects because of losing motivation makes me really think what she's doing school for at all? you're paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to be living/studying in new york and you write essays like that ^ and don't try hard to finish your assignments, but want to be a professional painter...... i'd have more respect for her if she just dropped out, honestly. i miss when she just used to copy catcreature on youtube
