He could just be able to read/write English more fluently than he can speak it? I don't think it's strange at all. I'm assuming he is going to America to study/for college and to do so he would need to be able to read and write english fluently in order to keep up with the coursework.
Is venus still MC-ing that Korea Jpop event thing in march? Cause if this "Ken" guy was her manager will/did she loose the gig? To be honest I feel bad for the two singers going to the event (GARNiDELiA and Amatsuki). They are really nice and talented people and deserve a better MC then Venus and all her drama...
A lot of people seem to love Tweety but at this point is she even really considered a beauty youtuber anymore? She's only posted only beauty video within the last 6 months and seems to have almost entirely switched over to couple vlogging now. I've unsubscribed. She use to make great makeup and fashion videos but now the only thing she seems to care about is vlogging dates with her boyfriend/fiance...
Could she be publicly complaining that she has nothing to sleep on in hopes that one of those mattress-in-a-box companies that ships to your house see's it and sends her something for free? Literally all the time do I see an influencer be like "omg I'm moving!" Or "oh no guys I need a new bed/mattress!" On instagram and in less than a week they make a video or Instagram story thanking some company for sending them a free bed/mattress.
I kinda blame Sunny for Kim's sudden constant buying of luxury high-end brand stuff. I've followed kim for YEARS and she never really seemed to care about this stuff. I forgot if it was mentioned on this thread or Sunny's thread but then one day in a Vlog Sunny started to make fun of Kim for having an old Prada bag while Sunny was showing off her newest LV bag. (Sunny ALWAYS seems to be buying new luxury goods, as if she thinks she is some young kpop idol, pretty similar to Joan IMO.) Then after that vlog Kim suddenly bought a gucci belt, and then the same LV bag as Sunny, and then at this point Kim and Sunny stopped being friends and Kim started making vlogs where she showed off buying those Gucci sneakers, and then the Dior shoes for her wedding, and then the Chanel earrings... Idk if maybe behind the scenes Sunny was making fun of Kim a lot more for not having luxury goods like she did? But with their friendship ending I'm 99.999% certian all of this stuff was bought as a jab at Sunny to say "SEE! IM NOT STINGEY/POOR! I CAN AFFORD TO BUY GUCCI/CHANEL JUST LIKE YOU!"
A lot of them are 16 and under so we can't post about them here but there usually is a TON in the amino app. My friend use to be in the Kpop amino and would come across multiple daily, and I was in some ulzzang for a few days but had to leave because it was practically a support group for these "Asianboo's". Literally almost every member claimed to be half Korean or Japanese, fluent in Korean, and wanted to become a kpop trainee.
I wasn't critisizing her using the dermaroller or its affecticeness. My issue was that on youtube she use to always talk about this cream or something and say that it was the miracle product that transformed her stomach and now she's done a 180 and is claiming it was the dermaroller that did it. It's like, please get your story straight and decide which product you want to claim is the miracle worker that changed your stomach.
I got a video of Lindy as a sponsored post on Snapchat? I forgot which snapchat series thing it was but she was advertising some Dermaroller on her stomach to show how it got rid of the sagginess (?! I don't know the proper term) from childbirth and made it tighter. I'm sort of confused. I stopped watching Lindy awhile ago but when she was pregnant with Issac she said some face cream made her skin tighter?! Where did this dermarolling thing come from?!
Tbh I think at the very least she should be in her mid 30's? I tried to Google her age and it brought me to her website and apparently she has two masters degrees?! Both of which she got in the UK. Both of her masters degree's are also from different universities so she couldn't have worked on both at the same time which would make completing them longer. She must have completed her degree's before moving to Japan. (I'm assuming she moved to Japan around 2016-ish?) Assuming she started college at 18, trying to add things together I think she would have to at least be in her mid thirties by now?
I've also noticed that Noe always goes out of her way to sit away from Mikan or disappear whenever she is trying to film around her. I remember in her school vlog she would leave the group or sit across the room to avoid being filmed by her. It's kind of ironic because Instagram-wise I think Noe is Mikan's most popular friend with her Instagram fanbase? I remember Noe (or someone else?) making some sarcastic comment in one of her vlogs saying "Hello people who followed me because of Mikan!" Or something. I think that's why none of Mikan's friends take or post pictures with her. They want their Instagram's to stay personal and don't want to become insta-famous from mikan's followers.
Are Kim and Sunny no longer friends? Kim's wedding is next month and ever since Kim said Sunny isn't going to be a bridesmaid I feel like I never heard either of them talk about each other again. Kim hasn't made any trips to Korea ever again this year or mentioned Sunny in her vlogs. I don't follow Sunny anymore but she seems too focused on Indonesia and her new "BF" to care about Kim or going to her wedding. (The reason why Sunny isn't a bridesmaid is also because despite the fact that Kim made multiple trips to Korea to see Sunny, she can't be bothered to make a trip to Australia to see Kim.) Unless Sunny magically shows up at Kim's wedding I'm assuming they had a falling out? I think it's just too weird that for the past few months Kim hasn't even mentioned Sunny's existence. *edit* In Kim's newest Q&A there was one question asking "who are your best friends" and she said they are her Australia friends that she knew from highschool that she doesn't really show on YT and didn't even mention Sunny. There was also another question where Kim was talking about relationships and she was saying she doesn't show her Fiance on Camera because a relationship is between two people and shouldn't need to be Floated(?!) For social media which I think was kind of directed at Sunny?
At first I felt sorry for her because of what happened with the Mikan incident but now I feel ZERO sympathy towards her. You can't just complain and cry about someone filming you without permission while making fun of you then turn around and do that exact thing to other people. She's a major hypocrite.
Speaking of videos: Apparently Tsuruko is now being paid to make videos for the Amino app now. Here is her profile. Anyone who is a verified amino creator account is someone who is being paid by the amino app to create content for their feed. Yumi King in the snowflakes section is another paid amino creator.
I think the videos are from August? But still, I find it really hypocritical how she accounces "I don't like being in videos" yet at the same time accepts this job/sponsorship of making videos for this app. Maybe another reason she doesn't want to be in Mikan's videos anymore is because she isn't getting paid for it 🤷♀️
Mikan said in her last video that we probably won't see tsuruko much anymore because she doesn't like being on camera but isn't she also a YouTuber?!... I thought Tsuruko came to Japan to be a Jvlogger like Mikan?
I know Mikan implied she helped tsuruko with all of her paperwork for coming to Japan but did she also help her find the place she is living in right now? I just find it extremely ironic that Mikan said in one of her tips for Japan videos that if you are a girl you should never live on the first floor for apartment buildings because it's not safe, yet in her typhoon video she said that piper lives on the first floor in her building.
Kinda off topic, but do you guys think her sudden lucky charms obsession is her way of trying to copy Bestdressed and her cereal obsession? I know Mikan is a fan of her channel and has kind of tried to copy her before (such as with her girl talk video). When I first started watching bestdressed I noticed there was some running gag/joke(?) That she seemed to be obsessed with cinnamon toast crunch? I know this is kind of a stretch but I'm starting to wonder if Mikan is suddenly trying to push the "I love Lucky Charms!" thing just to copy Ashley and her love of cereal. (I know in the Joan Kim thread people have accused Joan of being obsessed with Hot Cheetos or something only because some youtuber she was copying was obsessed with something similar? So I wouldn't really put it past Mikan to do the same thing.)
Idk about Australia but I live in America and in the part I live atleast I think I have seen these at street corners/crosswalks in cities and busy areas and such. Aside from that though no, I don't think they are too common here and I never knew what they were used for before either 🤷♀️
Personally I understand why she doesn't go around thrift shopping or buying more expensive clothing. You guys need to remember that all of her "cheap" clothing are sent to her for free, she doesn't pay for them at all. And, as someone who claims to always be struggling with money, why would she go around dropping lots of money on expensive thrift store and higher-end clothing when she could just wear her "cheap" clothing for free? She does not buy new items of clothing for videos, she is using free clothing items that were sent to her. I remember back in one of her first YouTube videos she even said that it was one way she saved money to move to Japan. She always accepted sponsorships and free clothing items and such for her Instagram and saved some money because she never had to buy new clothes herself.
I know the US tour date prices for seats dropped the closer it got to the concert date, but weren't there people complaining the Europe prices were too high? BP's fans are mostly young middle/highschoolers with maybe some college students, none of which are probably that rich. If they were overpricing the tickets then they shouldn't be suprised they can't outsell the stadiums.
Did these lalaray people intentionally name their song the same name as Sunmi's new song and release it at the same time?... Everytime I try searching for Sunmi's new song or watch one of her stage videos their cringey MV keeps popping up and it's really annoying.
I ended going to Q2HAN's KCON LA panel on Saturday and it was a Hot Mess. Here is a summary for anyone interested: (I apologize in advance if this gets really long.) - I thought I would start out by mentioning that their entire panel audience consisted of middle and high school girls. (All the other DIA panels had a fairly mixed audience with people of all ages so I thought it said a lot that they were the only DIA panel with no one in the audience older than 17?) - They started out the panel by praising 2 QTee's who were wearing their "brand" and then made audience members do a silly/cringy "model pose" in reward for the candy bags they prepared in Korea for their fans. - They didn't talk about their panel topic at all. The panel was pretty much a Q&A and the closest thing they talked about to the panel topic was answering a few fan questions like "which kpop idol's style do you like the best?" Or "can you do a video on xxx group?" - They spent a portion of their panel talking about how they hate wearing bras and where they buy their nipple cover stickers (someone asked where)?!?! They did acknowledge that this probably wasn't the most appropriate topic to talk about though and tried to move on to another topic. During the Q&A when someone asked what style/clothes they like to wear they went back to this topic again by answering : "Sweatpants and baggy T-shirts. Any clothing we don't have to wear a bra with". - All DIA TV panelists were required to advertise 3-4 products to the audience during their panel. They didnt read up about their products beforehand at all and handled the ads very unprofessionally imo. They just looked at them like "LOL what's this?!" And tried reading the boxes to the audience. - They gave away their Used Clothing as prizes!? It was all either Korean brand clothing they were sponsored/gifted in videos in the past for stuff from their yesstyle hauls I guess they didn't like. Why couldn't they at least give away their brand clothing as prizes?! Why their used worn clothing?! - To win their giveaway prizes audience members either had to answer questions about them or act out something like "Sing our intro song" or "Sing at dance to our Christmas Carol song". The thing is though: the audience members felt really cringy/uncomfortable having to act out these "silly" questions. I remember one person was too embarrassed to do it and asked them to act it out with them. You could tell the people answering didn't feel too ok doing it in front of everyone else in the audience. I think it says a lot when even your teenage fans are too embarrassed to preform your catchphrases (?) In public? My favorite part of the panel was the end when they said this in regards to advice on fashion college: - "We studied Buisness management in college which helped a lot. We learned sewing in high school so we thought we didn't need to study it in college." - Q2HAN's advice to someone who was/wanted to study fashion in college. Unless they messed up and meant to say "We learned sewing for our associates degree" or unless they maybe went to an arts high school and I'm just unaware, they honestly though high school level sewing skills was enough knowledge to start a fashion brand in the future?! No wonder their "brand" is just ugly tie-dye shirts! I apologize again for this being so long and I hope all of this didnt come across as me hating on them. After this panel though I think I have lost any last bit of respect and credibility I ever had for them.
This is pretty probably going to be a very unpopular opinion (and I hope this doesn't sound like I'm WK-ing her?): but I went to Joan's panel at KCONLA and I actually thought her panel was pretty great! Her panel was probably the most professional one out of all the DIATV panels at KCON tbh (except for maybe HeyItsFeiii's?) Her panel was for people 100% completely new to starting a YouTube channel/vlogging and I think she gave pretty good simple advice for it. When asked if newer youtubers need an expensive camera to start a channel she actually responded by saying that content is worth more than video quality and encouraged that youtubers now in days can start a channel just with their phone camera which surprised me? (With how much Joan likes to flaunt her expensive camera's I was sure she would tell people that you need to buy expensive stuff to be a good youtuber?) She had a camera with her and gave physical examples on getting good shots. Her brother was at the panel as well and they were really funny together and kept the audience engaged. She also always had something to say and was able to answer questions quickly without having to give any awkward pauses which I thought was pretty professional. The thing that I think made her the most professional out of all the DIA panels was her handling of the sponsored product advertisements. All DIA TV youtubers had 3-4 products they were required to advertise during their panel. Almost all the DIA panelist didnt prepare their advertisements beforehand and literally paused to read the product box or a prompt off a piece of paper for their ad which was very not genuine and unprofessional imo. Joan was literally the only person who researched their products beforehand to give an informative ad to everyone on the product without needing any notecards or kcon workers to explain the product for them. She may not be the best youtuber, but she has my respect for being the only one out of her DIA YouTube buddies who took their panel job seriously. (IMO the worst DIA panel was probably Q2HAN's who seemed to have winged the most of their panel, didn't even talk about their panel topic, and gave away their used clothes as panel prizes?!?)
