Yeah, she dropped out in her second year (or just after) to stream full-time.

I think Jaime understands that she isn't a bad person, but she is flawed. It's really easy to look at the controversy and paint her as a racist person, but I don't think it's accurate. She has prejudices like most people do, and while they certainly are NOT OK, this post shows that she seems to have grown to understand them and herself much better.
It doesn't excuse her actions - those were and remain a racist, prejudiced response. However, I wouldn't discount her ability to take a step back and understand how wrong she was.
As to the half-apology of "I'm so sorry if I ever hurt you", I don't think this is a half-apology in the sense of removing fault from herself, but a combination of her lacking a sense of direction toward who she should be apologizing to, and that she is not very articulate.

MGTOW and copycat subs quarantined (some banned) on Reddit - watching them justify their misogynistic incel rage is really hammering the nail in further.

I'm BARELY taller than her and I'm 5'7" so she's somewhere in 5'6" territory

The coronavirus has become the perfect avenue for people to spew their existing racist views toward asian people; especially chinese people. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these fake asian or fake hapa people co-opt the latest surge in sinophobic racism to further whatever BS they have going on.

https://twitchtracker.com/pokimane If you look at her follower growth and hours watched growth, I don't think it's especially high or out of the ordinary as a percentage growth. Up until Q4 2019, Twitch was growing incredibly fast and Imane was at the forefront of a lot of their marketing. She definitely is and was the biggest streamer of her style/type (regarding personality, Just Chatting content, and gender). This yields some positive feedback: she gets bigger, therefore she is advertised more, therefore she gets even bigger. As OfflineTV has grown as a brand, it has also brought in a lot of people from other communities (especially YouTube, in no small part due to Michael Reeves and other collabs). For communities like Offline, new followers will start following/watching pretty much everyone in the group, and that includes Imane.
