lol the comparison to Lea Michele made me laugh cause they're both horrible, although I admit I think Lea is talented... but Lea never even bothered to pretend to be nice, she had a reputation as a bitch and didn't do much to counter it, which is at least honest. Dove just straight-up lies and made herself out to be a victim when she was a bully and continues to pretend to be everything she's not.
This so much. I like Sofia a lot and would love to see her succeed because I admire her work ethic and her commitment to not being a shitty person, but I feel a bit bad because I don't care for her voice at all and sometimes find it a bit grating... her saving grace is that she's been sticking to over-produced dance tracks so it works and I like some of her songs. Those clips Dove posted are rough.. I always thought she had a much better voice, but maybe I just wasn't paying attention cause her music sucks
I like Sofia's new song too and I noticed even though it's only been out for a couple of weeks it already has more streams (on Spotify at least) than Dove's last song which came out like 3 months ago. I mean it's a better song but I'm always surprised to see Sofia's music do a little better because Dove is the bigger star and yeah like you said, has more than double Sofia's social media followers. I think only Dove's fans are listening to her music and there's not nearly as many of them as her social media suggests, whereas Sofa's probably getting a similar core fanbase but her music is more appealing to your average listener who might stumble upon her song on a playlist and just find it catchy. Curious to see what Dove's newest song will sound like... wonder if she's going to switch it up since what she's been doing hasn't really been working.
Damn that post about her dad is heart-wrenching... and was actually pretty articulate for a 15-year-old. I think she had the potential to carry herself with intelligence and honesty, but she's veered so far off of that path and seems to be flailing for anything she can pass off as authentic to herself because I don't think she knows what that is anymore. Surprised to read he didn't support her acting career, sad to see her say he didn't believe in her in that regard. It's no wonder she's on a never-ending search for validation. I understand the pain, but man how do you do that to your children. Dove's always reminded me of a girl I knew whose father took his life when she was 16. She was so troubled after the fact and hurt so many people as a result while refusing to get help, and anyone who knew her would eventually reach the point where they'd have to decide if they were going to stay in her life and let her continue to hurt them because they felt sorry for her loss, or if they were going to walk away.... most walked away. I wonder if Dove's at that point, if she's going to eventually push everyone in her life away or if she's going to get her shit together at some point.
It's pretty common for child actors/performers to finish high school early. They graduate as early as possible so that they're not required to go to "set school" while working beyond the minimum age....which is 14, I think? I don't know the legal particulars but it's not at all uncommon for children in the business to stop school early so they can work more. And it definitely doesn't make her a genius, just means she had an indulgent mother who was willing to let her sacrifice school for her career, which is also pretty common for child actors.
I watched too, it was cute for a kids movie and I think it was trending high on Netflix so I'm happy for her, but yeah, I noticed her arms in the movie too. I actually thought she looked super tiny throughout the whole movie but her arms are particularly noticeable because of how she has to move her arms when dancing. I do think she's looked healthier in more recent appearances so that's good, but I just saw a clip of a video interview she did recently to promote the movie and they asked her where she was when she found out Cameron Boyce had passed (which is a shitty question to ask her when she's happily promoting her new movie) and she mentioned she was in Toronto preparing to film Feel the Beat. I know she did a few weeks rehearsal before shooting officially started so I wonder if the news of Cameron's death might have had a negative impact on her health while she was rehearsing and that's why she looks so thin in the movie and around that time. I remember first noticing how thin she looked during Paris fashion week last year which is in September so that would have been a few months after Cameron's death and probably not long after she wrapped filming. Also, her new song has only been out for a couple of days and is almost at 1 million streams on Spotify. Dove's latest has been out for months and hasn't hit 2 million. It's petty as fuck but I kind of get a kick out of Sofia's music doing better than Dove's lol.
In addition to her Netflix movie which should be out in a couple hours, Sofia also just realeased another new song with Rehab. He mentioned putting out an EP with her this year so I imagine there are a couple more songs with him coming. I wish her music was more my thing because I want to see her succeed but this song isn't too bad. Very basic lyrics but catchy beat and hook.
And none for Dove Cameron Jamie Foxx, Ariana Grande, and more celebrities join protests after George Floyd's death This article lists a bunch of celebs who have participated in protests over the last few days. Dove isn’t mentioned, which you know must have her seething. She’s gonna have to up her game.
The first couple of times she went no one must have recognized her so she decided to step it up tonight and get on the roof of her car so people could see her. she's still not getting much attention for it and it must be killing her lmao
How many times does she wanna tweet about being at the protests? Go and shut up. If you have to broadcast your good deeds, you're doing them for the wrong reasons. Still think she's trying to get arrested for clout.
I had a feeling she was going to pop up at a protest. She probably stayed for 10 minutes and took as many pics as possible. Bet she's pissed she didn't get arrested and can't be touted as some type of white savior like Cole Sprouse.
Her name started being tossed around in serious talks for Wicked a couple of months ago... was hoping it was a rumor but guess not. If she loses the part to Lili or whoever after getting this close, that's gonna sting for her.
Yeah, I don't really know what to make of her posts... on one hand, she's saying a lot of the right things and it's great she's using her platform to address her young following who hang on every word she says, but it also comes off as kind of virtual signaling-y to me.
I noticed Sofia didn't use the " @dovecameronteamed up with @thecameronboycefoundation to create the Dove x Wielding Peace collection" copy that must have been sent out to everyone to use. Sofia made it about Cameron while still giving Dove credit for the shirt, which I respect her for.
