We've heard you loud and clear - negative reputation is back. Remember that it's still against the rules to complain about being downvoted - if you think someone's mass-downvoting posts or otherwise abusing the reputation system, DM a mod and we will take care of it.
They all are nothing but a bunch of spoiled, overrated overgrown toddlers who are ready to kill each other in order to get a bigger piece of the pie that sponsorships are. They all are disgusting, and seeing people forgiving them over and over again is nauseating.
This tea got stale really fast. There are too many people that claim to have receipts, too many people that have something to say, too many people who need to take a side to stay relevant. It was all fine until it was Tati, James, and the receipts from the boys he went after, but now there's a whole load of assholes who have nothing to do with the situation but want, need, to be a part of it because they have to be wherever the drama is, just like how vultures have to feed off of roadkills. That James went after straight boys hoping to turn them is something known, and it's really disgusting that all what people did, when they began noticing it, was posting video memes titled "James Charles making the Dolan twins uncomfortable" and stuff like that, without ever calling him out. Seeing him say "I was just playing/It wasn't that serious" really speaks levels on how much of a creep he is. He can be pardoned by the audience only because he's 19. Onision, sorry to bring him up again, kept doing that stuff and being pardoned until his face didn't completely collapse under the botox injections and the untreated rosolia. It's nothing new, but it's still disgusting.
Apparently the Sister tour was canceled, but no refunds are in sight, both for the tickets and merch. Another proof that James absolutely needed Tati and her husband to keep the team behind the scenes together.
Onision got lucky, but so did James with Covergirl, and Onision too had a few years of fame: after his video (was it the banana one?) exploded, he enjoyed a few years of gaining fans only to brainwash them and convince them that it's perfectly normal for a 30yo man to groom teenage girls and then make them suicidal. But look at where he is now: a man with a wife he hates, two kids he hates, bad plastic surgery, his ass fucked by the IRS, and a destroyed property the state of Washington will make him pay for. He could've stopped years ago, when his subscriber count began going down, to get an education and a real job, but he didn't, and now he's in millions of dollars in debt, without fans, and the continuous scandals he put on the internet did nothing but make his situation worse. Onision began losing traction when the last people that enjoyed 2009 random lulz humour recognized it wasn't that funny, but he kept living the life of the multimillionaire. Are we really sure this wouldn't have been James' future, if Tati didn't post that video?
Omg, who wears stilettos at the airport? His PR team better put their shit together, because this is getting embarassing.
So... now even Nikita is trying to come to the rescue, and makes the situation even worse.
Honestly, I think that this scandal is something James should consider a huge stroke of luck: he has millions in the bank and he's still young. He could just let YouTube fuck off and get in some online university, get a degree, find himself a job away from the ring lights and still earn money from the videos he posted. Internet fame is something that doesn't last long. Anyone remember the MySpace celebrities? Where in the world are they now? Jeffree Star is one of the few that managed to save themselves from those times and find a new way to earn tons of money while still not doing a 9 to 5 job, but he has other stuff going on, other than YouTube videos and merch. Not to mention that also the most popular trends change a lot in the matter of a few years: a while ago it was videos of cat, then it became skit comedy, then very dark and inappropriate comedy, then movie reviews, then gameplays, then makeup, and the youtubers who didn't want to find a normal job had to reinvent themselves each time. Just look at what happened to Onision, who is convinced it's still 2009. YouTube may appear as something eternal at the moment, but some day it's just going to fade out, and then what are these people going to do, when they haven't taken a single higher education class and their only skill is applying foundation? Really, James should reconsider this whole situation.
Gabriel Zamora is the "friend" with whom you don't really have a friendship with but who managed to get into the group you hang out with and now no one wants to tell him to just go away; he never has his own stuff going on, all he does is leech off of everybody, when there's a fight he tries to protect the one he considers to be the most powerful, and, especially, no one really likes him. The problem is that now he's trying to protect a predator, and there's no plead to Jeffree Star, for that. He should've really been cancelled the first time around.
I both agree and disagree with your point...? I mean, I disagree because Tati was always there to help him, and everything she said in her video seemed to be truthful, so if she said she told James to get help, then she probably has, and the only reason I could think for Jeffree to never say anything about it is probably because he wanted to handle it privately. The others, the straight men James bothered and preyed upon and all those around them, possibly thought that it wasn't that bad, or they were too afraid of James' celebrity status to speak about it. Just look at all the people that went after Gage. But at the same time, I agree because it seems to be too constructed to be something they didn't keep for themselves so that the next scandal James would've put himself into would've been also the last. I mean... James was quickly gaining subscribers before this, he's been only ascending since he started (even if it wasn't because of his talent but because of the work others put behind his videos and persona, and helped him anytime he didn't know what to do), has now a sister store with his merch, and was invited at the met gala with people who are actually celebrities. It feels just really, really calculated.
These last two days (since Tati posted her video) are the actual proof that she (and her husband) was the mastermind behind James' success. Just look at how well written her video is (because it was clearly scripted before, as she goes through so many points and does so without ever losing what she said five minutes before or forgetting what she wanted to say), how eloquent and classy she is, and how good she acted it the whole way through, without ever sounding phony or too harsh, or anything that wasn't a very cool yet slightly disappointed tone. And then look at James' apology, now that she's not guiding him through it, and the mess he's done with the sponsorship with those gummies (a mess he's done because he knew he couldn't ask Tati/Tati's husband for advices or help with the contract he was going to sign). He's an idiot whose luck was to find someone who wanted to take care of him and protect him from the big bad world, and now that that someone is done with them, he's going to deal with years of shit he's not prepared to live.
The only thing I didn't like about Tati's video is that she said she covered the fact that she perfectly knew James is a sexual predator whose favourite preys are straight men, and didn't say that she regretted it, nor that what she has done is wrong. It's wrong to cover a predator, no matter if said predator is young, rich, inexperienced, or your own son. A predator is a predator, and if you know someone who preys on people you should cut all ties with them and expose them immediately. It's not right that he went on doing that shit for years with Tati knowing and not batting an eye if not by scolding him and making calls to excuse his inappropriate behaviour. It's not right, and it could've ended much worse than it did.
He should've learned from Laura Lee and Manny MUA that sitting on the floor without makeup and desperately trying to shed some tears while saying a fake ass, damage control apology doesn't actually work, especially when you don't have any friends to back you up. It's going to be fun reading Jeffree Star tweets about this.
Do you think this is going to be the end of his career? I somehow doubt that someone who is accused (with proof) of being a sexual predator could make a come back. People are stupid enough to support him (look at how many serial killers have actual fans that idolatrize them), but this seems to be a lot, especially for a platform like YouTube.
