We've heard you loud and clear - negative reputation is back. Remember that it's still against the rules to complain about being downvoted - if you think someone's mass-downvoting posts or otherwise abusing the reputation system, DM a mod and we will take care of it.
It would be better if she just focused on taking care of her hair. They look so dry and damaged because of all the dye. I feel like a long bob with some side swept fringe would look good on her. She's Korean and East Asians are naturally blessed with good hair. It would really take a lot of chemicals to ruin it and she plus the Captain did just that.
Joan's always self conscious of her fringe. Like the minute a breeze blows through, she's always grabbing at them to stay put. I'm just like, let them blow in the wind and comb them back in place once you're inside as her attempt at keeping them in place is futile.
The way she winks is the same way my 3 year old nephew winks. He only discovered winking a couple of months ago and still trying to get the hang of it. He presses his eye so tightly like the way Joan does. It's cute for a toddler but tragic for an adult that tries so hard to be cute.
I am not fond of peaches so I don't know how to peal them but a quick search on Youtube and you can see videos of people giving proper instructions on how to peel peaches. The internet and Youtube is a treasure trove of information that these days everyone Googles or Youtube things to learn things like that. Joan's a flippin' Youtuber and she hardly uses the platform she's in other than watching people with the same content as her so she can be a copycat and "single white female" them because she has no original ideas of her own but claims otherwise. Remember her cream and that whole tantrum about "her original packaging"?
Someone who's not narcissistic would just thank whoever said she looks like an idol as it's only good manners to thank someone for a compliment but to actually believe that you look like that idol? Please!
Exactly! I really find Abe to be so obnoxious. He thinks he's so funny and witty when all he is is just an annoying show off. Just like Joan, he thinks he's cool because he wears Supreme clothing that his sister buys for him, collects Marvel figures when there are millions of people who do the same and pretended to go to medical school like he's studying to become a surgeon but really studying to become a physical therapist which is nothing to be ashamed of so why hide it?
Of course she brought that person from the refinery video to Myeongdong. It's not like there are no other interesting places to see in Seoul that has the same street vibe. The first thing you are recommended to see in Seoul when you do a quick Google search is that place. You would think Joan could have taken her somewhere else with the same vibe but has less tourists since vlogging Seoul is her job. This girl is lazy and basic af. The stuff they did were generic as well. Eat your standard Korean street food. Buy cheap quirky earrings, purchase some make up and skin care that isn't even that special. You guyz, Joan's job is sooooooo haaaard!! She needs another vacation because she hasn't been on a vacation for yearsss!!
Another one of Joan's bad table manners. Isn't it rude to keep your hat on indoors and especially if you're eating in a restaurant? She's not giving up those bucket hats, huh. Last year it was those Gentle Monster sunglasses. Well, I'm guessing those hats are cheaper than the sunglasses so there's that. Also, at least she wears the hats properly and they protect her head against the harsh summer sun unlike the sunglasses which she wore perched at the very tip of her nose therefore don't protect her eyes from the sun AND the dust. Her go to excuse as to why she bought many. Both equally still don't suit her apart from one or two of the more classic Gentle Monster designs.
I feel like Joan was one of those girls back in high school that had good grades but weren't really that smart. Were not popular and just had a couple of friends. A wallflower basically. Perhaps she harbored a desire to be one of those popular girls. She seemed to have more friends in college and they were all Korean (which I find weird) and rather well off. She said she had family money problems at that time so she felt insecure about it as she was surrounded by wealthy people in college. Maybe now she's compensating and sort of reliving that fantasy of hers as being this rich popular girl hence she tries to dress like a hypebae **shivers** as it is what popular girls wear now and regressing with her attitude therefore acts like a teenager and not someone in their late 20's. Anyway, I think there are far worse Youtubers out there than Joan who developed huge attitudes due to the fame and money it gave them.
Her Joan and Co. series ended because she and her friends are mostly just privileged people with zero self awareness. They can still talk about the pitfalls of their "job" but alas, they're all ditsy people who can't string proper sentences together to express their opinions.
She just does the same old content and she just doesn't have an interesting personality that people will still watch her even if she just rambles in front of a camera as those people have interesting thoughts, you know. At this point she just continues to make videos so she can flex her fancy life of travelling, getting gifts, buying/wearing expensive junk that she thinks makes her cool. She still has an audience now but if she continues to be stagnant and have zero maturity with her videos, her teenage die hard fans will not watch her videos anymore as it's boring and disconnected from their own lives as perhaps college students or fresh graduates who can barely afford to pay for their basic needs.
I think grunge style or whatever only suit certain people who have the street cred to pull it off. Joan's personality is nowhere near thug enough to wear what she wears. She just follows that trend because, well, it's trendy for TEENS and not for someone of her age and/or her personality.
She should give her hair a rest from all that dye. I honestly don't know how much business she gives "The Captain" with all that shameless promoting of his salon. Do tourists going to Seoul honestly go there to get haircuts? I would think fan girls would opt to go to where idols get their hair done and Joan never mentioned that Captain does hair of which idol.
