We've heard you loud and clear - negative reputation is back. Remember that it's still against the rules to complain about being downvoted - if you think someone's mass-downvoting posts or otherwise abusing the reputation system, DM a mod and we will take care of it.
Well, it sure was entertaining when the producers had a source material to adapt the show from. Once it got passed the books, a lot has changed. Characters who are alive in the novels suddenly die on-screen, the Dornish are nothing more than an irrelevant plot device, Doran Martell went from a player in the books to Ned Stark vol 2, House Tyrell is extinct....
On the other hand, there's the shock value. Nobody knows what will happen next, since the show has reached its finale while the books are just starting to get there. We also have no idea how the producers have influenced Martin. His original plan for the Iron Throne may have looked different but since he hasn't finished his writing and the TV series needed to continue, he kind of had to present a short-term solution to the show-runners. All in all I'm going to watch the rest of the season, then head back to the written work (which is, in my opinion, better anyway).
Gotta pull out the thread from the dead. I like the show, hence my profile pic and name. It's filled with cute and fun moments and "Hase" (Hawk and Rose) is adorable, like you said. It's a feel good show after a long day of work. I definitely recommend it.
@shifty: Wow at this one Winx fan. She/He must be a really hateful person. I wonder what caused this much hatred? I mean, there has to be a reason for all of this. Maybe bad experiences? A former Miraculous fan that was bullied? Victim of racism? I kind of feel bad for him/her.
Yeah, I agree. This Winx fan seems to have some sort of a mental problem. No healthy person would act like this. Thankfully I'm not too deep in fandoms either. However, I do observe and I think I saw this one deviantart account before. As for sexual fanfiction, that's part of EVERY fandom... Avatar for example. I often see sexuality in it, especially when it comes to "Zutara" or other non-canon ships. Voltron has them. Miraculous Ladybug has them too....the so-called "sinners" and what else. So does Winx Club and practically everything else that's popular. Kids shows aren't holy anymore. I bet you can find something for every cartoon. It's just the nature of human kind, I guess.
You mean the first movie? Secret of the Lost Kingdom? That was a good one. Can't believe how much time has passed.
Looks like we might get a Regal Academy/Winx crossover in the future. I don't mind the new artstyle, although I do question why Rainbow needed to change the perfect season 4+ style in the first place (same with Flora's skin and the girl's outfits).
But as long as it gets Rainbow new fans - and it probably will, considering how many people love cute and young faces - go ahead.
I wish I lived in Italy. As a Winx fan it must be Paradise over there (if we ignore the Italian politics).
Not just that. The producers admitted a few years ago on Tumblr or Twitter that they're reading smutty fanfics about the characters (one of them even wrote "what happens in the fandom stays in the fandom" as some sort of justification). And yes, they still draw nsfw stuff about minors. The fans of the show are even worse...you should have seen the disgusting amount of underage porn or the plethora of comments stating how "hot" the characters are. I don't know Shugo Chara but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if it was ripped off.
I would love if Orion was transgender. I mean, Rainbow could finally show that LGBT dies have a place in the Winx verse. Doubt they do it, though. Thankfully there are these things called fanfics. Yeah, Riven looks like a cutie boy now. But, if it helps drawing in new people to Winx, why not. Besides, all the "Miraculous" fans should now have a reason to watch Winx since the season 8 style now resembles the style from Mlb...without the hideous CGI, of course. I just never could get into CGI...I prefer handdrawn animation the most (yeah, I'm old school there). Speaking of handdrawn animation, there is so much great stuff from the 80's to 00's. Does anybody remember "Redwall", "Arnold", "As Told By Ginger", "Braceface", "shera", "TMNT", "Carmen Sandiego", "GI Joe" "Animals of Farthing Wood", "Spider-Man & the Amazing Friends", "Batman TAS" and many more classics? I kinda feel sorry for the kids today. Today's cartoons, save for the "oldies" that are still running, just lack the quality and epic storytelling. Yeah, my childhood was awesome.
Hope there is some reference to Darkar and the Wizards, though. And please, Rainbow: No more Trix.
Same here. I thought Mirta should have hooked up with Flora instead. Two cutie pies in a lesbian relationship or just very close friends (with benefits ) was apparently too much to ask for. I think Rainbow is just growing tired of Winx for many years now. They wanted to end everything with the first movie but fans wrote thousands of letters asking for another season, so Iginio gave the fans season 4 and movie #2. And then Rainbow probably thought about taking over the US market with Winx to make even more money, hence we got Nickelodeon USA working on seasons 5 and 6. In my opinion, Iginio should have directly asked Bryan Konietzko instead of leaving everything in Nick's hands (the Nick President Cyma Zarghami clearly had no clue what to do with Winx). Season 7 was also a half-assed effort with Duart. Rainbow should go back to work alone on their stuff in my opinion. Produce everything in Italy and sell the product worldwide to all the countries that want to have Winx instead of giving everybody an "americanized" version. No offense, but once the Winx started to wear more modest clothing, the writing quality has also started dropping somewhat. I really miss the maturity from seasons 1-4. Hopefully season 8 is a step towards that direction.
Do it. Nothing makes your heart grow fonder than watch older stuff. The recent seasons have some decent stuff in them. But I would definitely choose 1-4 for rewatching purposes, especially for the nostalgia bonus. Btw: My country hasn't aired these four seasons in a decade (we always get 5 and 6 on repeat). No idea why, maybe the rights are gone. Speaking of nostalgia, does anyone miss the really simple superhero movies? Just hero and one or two villains squaring off against each other. Don't get me wrong, the shared movie universes from DC and Marvel are nice and all but I do miss the older times when you just had Batman beat up Joker/Penguin/Two-Face without having to worry about Evil Superman, or Spider-Man facing off against Doc Ock/Goblin all by himself without help from the Avengers. I wish we kinda had that these days as well.
The Winx fandom is indeed mild when you compare it to other fandoms. There are more haters than toxic fans when it comes to the Winx franchise, I would say. Anyway, I never thought I'd see a Winx fan on this board, much less an account dedicated to Bloom's sweet bunny Kiko. I think I also saw someone with an avatar of Tinkerbell (World of Winx version) earlier. Very good choices on the episodes too. I also like the ones playing on Earth the most. Seasons 1-4 are my favourites. 5-7 are good too but they lack the epic storytelling of the first four seasons in my opinion. The new character Orion (name sounds like the green Star Trek species, doesn't it?) is interesting. I wonder how he/she will be connected to the Winx. I'm also curious to hear the explanation for Valtor being back. I mean, he died at the end of season 3. Wouldn't Darkar have made more sense to revive since he is a phoenix? Oh well, nitpicking on my part.
I can't wait to see the new episodes. Rumour has it that the eight season will be released sometime between April and May. And then there is the Netflix live-action show to look forward to.
As for Lucy: Yeah, she was kind of naive and annoying. Mirta on the other hand was a cutie pie. I wonder what these two are up to now. It's a shame Rainbow doesn't go back to the supporting characters of the earlier seasons. Instead of introducing more and more new faces, have some of the already established ones come back, like some fairies/witches from season 1. Rainbow S.r.l does seem to care less and less about continuity.
Underage nsfw is wrong on so many levels. Why even bother drawing children when there are millions of adults in the cartoon/video game/manga world? Must be some weird fetish. On the other hand, the JK coffee business is big in Japan so perhaps it's not that uncommon for Japanese people to draw nsfw art of minors. Add to that the very liberal stance on sexuality and that child pornography was not punished until 2014 and you might have an explanation as to why Sakimiart does what she does. Of course, it is still disgusting and morally wrong, no matter where this person is from. Child fetishism is never acceptable!
I can't believe such people exist. I mean, I'm not a conservative but this is too much! "Princess Noodle" should be ashamed of herself. She probably doesn't give a damn that some of the people looking her up are under 18. I also cannot believe that there are seriously people paying her to do this shit, instead of spending their money on something we all could profit from...Or, you know, give it to poor people who would really benefit from a few extra bucks. :barf:
