That was good of her to do. I always get the sense from Alex that she is basically a good person but she gets defensive really quickly and it leads to her going off on one instead of taking the time to reach a more mature conclusion.
What is galling is that she doesn't have enough self awareness to realise that even if she was ill, and truly did have a disability, she's incredibly privileged because it's not like she has to go to work every day and fight for herself in a work context, and make sure her work environment is fit for her use, and she doesnt have to deal with public transport, or anything that actually makes it hard for people who really do have disabilities.
Kenna makes it so abundantly clear every time she talks about that she has never struggled with illness of any kind. She says she has 'anxiety' but when she talks about it she clearly has no idea, and I bet what she means is sometimes she gets sad and nervous, which is NORMAL. Having an anxiety 'disorder' means it impacts your daily life, so she clearly has no idea. Her understanding of what people need for an invisible disability is literally just being a decent human being, which I guess is novel for her since she's so horrible to everyone and expects them to treat her like a special baby bean back. It's funny because she's basically just admitted nothing is actually wrong with her - she doesn't talk about managing anything, or how she deals with anything other than admitting she's a picky eater (not a disability) and sometimes getting tired (also not a disability). She so badly wants to be special and different and cosplaying at being 'disabled' is her last attempt at pulling the 'nobody understands meeeee' card. It's gross. I'm sorry for popping off, I'm just sick of this woman and the free passes and medals she wants to get for slowly realising that she's not the only person who exists.
Oh ugh if they're engaged there goes any hope I had of being able to watch her again. Tyler just creeps me out, and while I don't think this is true in general, I do think that since Annabelle got into going to church she's become overly prim and proper and it's so obviously forced.
