i cant upvote your post because im at my limit for today but i do agree with you. while im not entirely sold on her being her fathers biological daughter they do share some resemblance in some photos. also i agree whether she is faking or whether she is really biracial she still doesn't share the same struggles as "black-passing" people. i dont wish to erase her identity if she really is telling the truth, however i still think she isn't doing as much for the black community as she thinks she is.

ok i know this post is a week old but i haven't been here in a while and i wanted to discuss this. halseys insistence on being perceived as "biracial" and "a black woman" is one of the things that annoys me the most about her. i genuinely don't believe she is any percent black at all and it doesn't seem like her father is biologically related to her. people use the excuse "oh she's only 25% black, obviously shes going to look mostly white" but she doesn't even look vaguely black at all. on the topic of logic, as cringeworthy as his non-stop talk about his race is i really dont think he's lying about being mixed. if you look at photos with him and his dad (who, like halseys supposed "dad" is mixed as well) you can see the resemblance, and logic at the very least looks slightly black. halsey on the other hand has no "black" features, she gets spray tans to darken her skin and even then she just looks like a tan white girl. if you look at pictures of her as a child she doesn't look biracial then either. i feel like more people should be calling her out on this because imo race is a completely unacceptable thing to lie about just to get people to take your activism more seriously. there's also the topic of whether shes lying about her sexuality but i feel like that's much harder to decide on considering you can't tell someones sexuality by looking at them, unlike race. there have also been claims of her hanging around with a racist white crowd and possibly also joining in on the racism herself in high school (i believe that was in the beginnings of this thread, i could be wrong though) and that just makes her lies even worse. either way she shouldn't consider herself helpful to the black community when i feel like she just makes it harder for actual black peoples struggles to be taken seriously. finally if i said anything wrong here please feel free to criticize/correct me, i feel like i mightve made some mistakes here but overall this is how i feel about the subject.

because twitch higher ups are horny dudes that want to keep her on the platform. alinity could call for a fourth reich and they wouldn't care as long as she shows off her body.

i stg what's up with popular tumblr accounts and getting pedophilia callouts? i feel like every time someone gets big on that platform they eventually get themselves involved in pedophilia somehow. i know it can be hard to stay out of drama when you're that popular on social media but is it that difficult to just not partake in gross things?

-as someone who enjoys calligraphy i don't understand why people get so upset at the thought of cursive being removed from schools. first of all, most schools still do it anyways from what ive seen so idk why people think its dying out in the first place. second, i honestly dont think its that important of a life skill and while it doesn't hurt to learn it at a young age i dont like having it being taught as something that absolutely needs to be learned either.
-kanye needs genuine help, making fun of his actions isnt going to do anything. i heavily disagree with a lot of his opinions but regardless i feel bad for him.
-i know this is just a matter of personal taste but i find most video games to be boring no matter the genre.
-i dont believe in "respecting the dead" if they were bad people in life, however its generally a bad thing to use someones name for personal greed no matter how bad of a person they were. you see this a lot with celebrities especially.

exactly...even if she is a member of minority groups she is white-passing and all of her most publicized relationships have been with men. if she dated women more publicly or had darker skin, for example, maybe she would have more of a feel of the oppression she claims to go through so often. not saying she doesnt face any challenges already but certainly not as many as she claims.

i agree 100% with everyone here saying she's trying to be a martyr for her sexuality. whether she is lying about her sexuality or not is debatable but regardless she capitalizes on it extensively to make herself seem like a ~woke queen~ and a better person than she actually is. another thing i wanted to bring up here is that she does a similar thing with her race/claiming to be biracial. while im not denying the fact shes biracial like with her sexuality she does capitalize on it to a gross extent, especially since shes only 1/4th black. going a bit OT here but ive noticed that more "white-passing" biracial artists tend to talk about it far more like halsey does while more "black-passing" artists dont discuss it as much at least from what ive seen. overall shes been a liar in the past and i feel like shes only using her minority status to her advantage.

are we allowed to suggest group topics here as well? because if so i have a couple:
-general rapper/hip-hop thread. i know lolcow already has their soundclout thread but id be interested in seeing discussion about more mainstream rappers here as well.
-not sure if this is too broad but a thread for general youtube drama not big enough for individual threads would be nice.
-this is kind of a broad one as well but a general celebrity thread (not e-celebs, mainstream ones) could be interesting.

-i hate it when people in the youtube comments sections try to be qUiRkY and relatable. the lengths they go to try and make self-deprecating jokes no matter the video subject matter is both impressive and extremely annoying.
-drake is the wikihow art of hip-hop. when its bad its bad, and when its good its usually because it was copied from someone else.
-idc what anyone says i love the modern "e-girl" style (the more grunge type stuff, not shitty sexualized cosplay) and makeup. plus its really easy to pull off imo so you dont really need a big budget for it unlike some other fashion trends.

do you know if there's any truth to this? because getting arrested for tax fraud/evasion is a pretty big meme especially with the "thot audit" that happened a while back.

im 50/50 on whether this is a h3h3 inspired joke or actually real but either way this is definitely not how i expected her to come back. also ot but i think its funny how she looks better here with smudged mascara and messy hair than in 95% precent of her "cosplays".

same...if she is then good for her i guess but i feel bad for her hypothetical future child especially if its a girl...tho maybe being a parent would force her to become a more mature human being, who knows? i really hope that'll be the case if she really is pregnant.

great video. i don't agree with all of TROs opinions (ironically) but he's one of the better youtubers making analytical videos like these.

thank you for giving more detail! ive considered watching it but ive always put it off partially due to the hype as i said. im also not very perceptive when watching movies and shows so the subtlety might be a problem too.

not a huge anime watcher but im getting a lot of unpopular opinions off my chest right now so why not?

-i absolutely loathe cilan from pokemon with a passion. not a fan of anime serena either.

-i have no desire tp watch evangelion because i feel like im going to get let down, lots of people talk about it as if its a masterpiece and it scares me off. also stupid detail but the main characters remind me a lot of people i know irl and i cant really get past that.

-the fact that so many popular animes are just lolicon bait disturbs me.

-not every rapper you dont like is a mumble rapper and the term has been overused to the point where it has no meaning.
-commentary channels are just glorified reaction channels for the most part.
-(this might be my most controversial one so bear with me) meme culture makes fun of women (especially teenage girls) too much. when they make fun of men/teenage boys (the latter of which make up a large percentage of people making memes) its usually meant to be self-depreciating but when they make fun of women the sexism shows through a little more. imo i feel like people should be made fun of equally (if you really want to make fun of people i guess).

-this ties into my previous point a little. we as a culture hate on teenagers (especially girls) interests too much. why can't we just let guys play fortnite and girls listen to billie eilish in peace? we are all at least a little cringy as teens.

-(also possibly controversial) i dont mind people drawing white characters as black but it does bother me when they just darken their skin color a little and call it a day. they just end up looking like the original characters wearing blackface, there's more to drawing black people than just skin color. as an extension to this it also bothers me when i see people pick unrealistic and sometimes downright racist-looking skin tones for characters (especially ones that aren't white), its an issue you see a lot on tumblr.

-speaking of tumblr, twitter honestly isn't much better as a website at this point. its mainly the same user base with the same opinions. the only advantage twitter has is reaction videos.

-instagram is the worst social media platform. tbh most social media platforms are just the same post from a different website being recycled constantly but at least there's still original content. instagram, being entirely image-based, has this especially bad. pinterest and weheartit work because they're meant for inspiration purposes and original content isnt the main focus. instagram tries to be a hub of content but fails in part because of the image-only restriction, and tbh the original content that is there isnt all that great either.

-as an american, our ignorance isnt just a white american or older american problem (tho they do make up a pretty big percent of it) its just an american problem period.

-this is kind of a dumb one but imo the vsco girl stereotype isnt really accurate to how a lot of vsco girls actually act, but then again i haven't been on it in a while so it could have changed.

-stan twitter is the worst collective group of people on the internet (not counting pedos, incels or other human garbage) and im not just talking about kpop stans (tho they are some of the worst offenders), the whole thing is terrible.

-possibly the one ill get most attacked for, i dont think tiktok is that bad.

late as always but i find it funny how she complains about 1/10 of men being pedos yet her entire career is her trying to pander to pedos 🤔🤔🤔

i know this is kind of a late reply but ive been waiting for someone to say this and i 100% agree. i know girls irl that are 1/4 japanese and they have similar facial features to what belle photoshops herself to have (no disrespect to those girls). i think she purposely does it to appeal to the weebs but she's more "subtle" about it as to not get accused of full-on race faking. remember the person a few pages back that tried to argue belles mom is half japanese? while their enthusiasm in attempting to prove their conspiracy was bizarre and kind of creepy tbh you cant entirely blame them for thinking belle isn't completely white.

i just wanted to say thank you for finally making a thread about this situation, i have been waiting for so long for the slazo drama to be covered on this website. like someone else in this thread already said she's just making it harder for real rape victims to come out... honestly the entire commentary community has a lot to apologize for, they collectively formed a plan to backstab their friend. its made even worse by the fact the community is pretty much based on calling out others and criticizing their responses yet when they get "called out" they pretend like nothing happened.
