yyep. As one of the people who she suckered into believing her sweet side, I can fully attest to this. It just takes reading the thread through to see it all, something i hadn't fully done before. But after the sex worker incident I did and yeah. She's manipulative as heck and rude whenever she thinks she's able to get away with it
I will say when I received my diagnosis, i was given the current label according to the dsm-v, but told that I would have been given the asperger's diagnosis previously. He did explain briefly that it was no longer the correct label, but that it could be useful when trying to communicate where a lot of my symptoms and traits fall on the spectrum. Especially to older people who do not stay current with the dsm. I doubt her own psychologist did the same, but if she did, I could see kenna ignoring the generalized asd label and going straight for what was previously considered to be a gifted/savant label. The "positive" side of autism, if you will.
she at least has training for developmental disorders and some of the therapies listed apply to development disorders such as asd. According to this, she is indeed licensed but yeah maybe not for Japan? I still have not watched the video, but I am curious to see the wording of the document which contains the diagnosis she was given. But you are right, her current research focuses mainly on culture shock, not asd in Japan. Perhaps kenna was referred to her for this by her school, and for some reason it lead to her asd diagnosis? Still im with everyone here, 3 hours is only enough time for merely the initial visit to determine if it's worth it to pursue a diagnosis process for ASD in at least America, let alone any other country that ascribes to the dsm-v.
in America at least, they wouldn't fire her for it directly, but rather find any other excuse to. Which im sure she'd give them plenty... she has no work ethic. Guess she's lucky she has her YouTube past to keep her afloat... and those lovely rich parents
I wonder if it's against contract to sell the yesstyle clothes on something like depop? Seems to me if she's going this route of leaning into fast fashion on her channel, that would be a smart way to make the extra cash she needs for school. That's basically just pure profit. Get free clothing, a sponsored video featuring them with pay from views, then sell them off before the season ends. No doubt tons of girls would want her clothes just cause she owned them. It would take extra time to do, yes, but it's not ebegging.
A little blurb about masking as an ASD woman under the spoiler. Yes, everyone masks and runs social scripts to a degree. That's why there are tons of other criteria to be diagnosed with autism, adhd, and other neuro diverse developmental disorders. Typically, masking is to the degree it gets in the way of a happy, healthy life for an ASD person, and that's why it's a part of the criteria. But not everyone struggles with masking. Some asd folk are very extroverted and purely themselves all the time
So I think the part that bothers me about her ASD diagnosis is... What was the point Kenna? If she's level 2 as told, then she absolutely needs to be pursuing therapies. I got diagnosed late in life because I was struggling so much and feeling so disabled. I needed help if I were ever going to return to school, and I needed help figuring out ways to keep my job. Truthfully, a diagnosis is, in America at least, not a great thing. It does open up a handful of helpful opportunities, such as therapy and help at school and in the workplace. In the rest of the world, however, it is not a good thing. Insurance can go up, you can't get disability because you weren't diagnosed as a child so that's proof you don't struggle with it enough, etc. She's clearly not seeking therapy because she is going on a month long trip. I see no evidence of her using the diagnosis as a stepping stone to finding her own healthy coping mechanisms for improving her quality of life and making the world less disabling for her. Yeah, it's nice to know why you've always felt so wrong and so different, and that's great. But the paper is just the first step. So regardless of if the diagnosis is real or not, and appropriate or not, she is showing us no proof of there being a point. (That is, beyond having it as an escape card up her sleeve anytime things "attack" her.)
I swear there was something about her making her own line with someone? I could be very wrong here but maybe this is one of them... But also I wanted to say don't forget her color filters. It may not look that shade irl sadly, even if she does tell what lipstick it is eventually. I love the color too though
Oooo Japanese horror stuff would be cool! But is she much into that? I could see her doing some aesthetic stuff based off some of the urban legends there but idk. She's very soft and gentle with her aesthetic right now so I feel like we won't see anything like that while she's in Japan.
