I’m not disagreeing with you at all, but I have to wonder... at this point, what CAN she do? If she talks about her interests, we slam her for being myopic. If she talks about real world issues, she gets slammed too apparently. Her sincerity is called into question even when her action is “good” (raising awareness about one of Japan’s biggest issues). I get it though because I also don’t believe her to be sincere. Reminds me of when Taylor Swift suddenly became a feminist and you just rolled your eyes every five seconds for three years straight. It’s like saying the right things creates a protective bubble from another group of people that once criticized you. When you have as long and thorough a history of virtue signaling as people like Kenna and Taylor, it’s so hard to take their good actions at face value.
You can see it in the screenshots posted. The person took the screenshots all at the same time (7:08). The top reply (which is usually within seconds of the original tweet) is from “~1 hour ago” and valkyrae’s Instagram post was “~5 hours ago,” so there was ~4 hours in between the picture and the tweet.
If you’re referring to the discussion here, this is a rather deceptive portrayal of a simple disagreement that it’s natural and normal for someone to eat an excess of calories and not gain a pound. If you’re referring to some other interaction, I apologize.
I always wonder why Kenna doesn’t ever “make things her own.” Like if you’re interested in boho, kawaii, and ‘60s fashion, why not integrate these interests into a unique style? Kenna is a California girl. She’s got a very “easy” look (meaning she can pull off the “I woke up looking pretty” look). She could do an “effortless chic” spin on kawaii fashion by integrating California fashion with the Disney princess look. She would look like a cool girl. And it wouldn’t be disingenuous.
It’s because she eats trash. When you’re young, your parents have the power to put a cap on your appetite (“no candy until after dinner!”). Many teenagers gain an insane amount of weight after the age of 18 because they have the freedom to eat whatever they want. If they want pancakes for every meal or cake for breakfast or donuts with sugary drinks, they can.
I don’t mean to sound like a bitch but I constantly visit this thread out of sheer curiosity and befuddlement. Clock me if I’m crossing a line. Why is this girl e-famous? She’s below average in every single attractiveness category. She looks unhygienic. Her cosplays suck. The answer I can come to is “because she does lewds,” but then I have to ask... is the lewd market so small that literally any girl who goes down this route can obtain some degree of fame? I’m absolutely being genuine.
“They say the coward is the man who refuses to take flight” ”They say the observer is often intelligent” I don’t wanna be #nitpicky but - starting two poems with literally the exact same format is embarrassing - who says these things? These aren’t figures of speech? These aren’t sayings? - “take flight” is so awkward. “Fly” would’ve flowed better
The entire public reception to Eugenia’s anorexia and attempt at recovery has left me so cynical. I absolutely hate that everyone did absolutely rude things to Eugenia literally just to make themselves feel better. I understand there’s a helplessness to watching a sick girl kill herself and being unable to do anything to stop it, but it shows society’s true nature that everyone was more focused on forcing Eugenia making them feel better rather than Eugenia herself. And then Eugenia goes into recovery and once again society pats itself on the back. Like I already knew this was how society worked, that its morality is shallow at best, but seeing it depicted so vividly and callously with Eugenia is nauseating and disappointing.
Well if Onion is reading here... Hey, Onion! I just wanted to let you know publicly bullying a mentally ill girl does NOT lead to recovery under any circumstance. It actually makes it worse. So stop taking credit for her attempted recovery. If anything your bullying probably made it worse for her. Eugenia is doing this for herself. Maybe she’s doing it for loved ones. But I can guarantee you she sure as shit isn’t doing it for you. This might be a difficult concept for you to grasp, but the world does not in fact revolve around you. Your impact on this world is negative if you have any at all. Oh and nobody — NOBODY — gives a shit if you find Eugenia attractive or not. The fact that you see this as some kind of motivation for her is, at best, ignorant of mental illnesses and at worst narcissistic. Pull your head out of your own ass, take a shower, and work on developing some semblance of self-awareness and wisdom,
I was gonna post this on the IG post but she would just delete it, so I’ll say it here. It’s honestly disgusting to me that her fans think they’re supporting her by playing into her desperate longing to look East Asian. I’m half South Asian and half white and trust me when I say I understand that desire. I’m half white, but, with the exception of my nose, I primarily inherited South Asian features. Where I went to school, East Asians were extremely popular and trendy and stylish, and all the cliques were designed according to race. Either you were a popular East Asian, a cool white girl/boy, or an edgy Mexican. I felt so alienated by these groups that I began dressing like an East Asian, hanging with white people, and talking like a Mexican. I used to draw Punnett Squares with other white/Asian folks to see if I could breed the brown out. Nobody on TV looked like me. Nobody on IG looks like me, and the few who have similarities edit the similarities out. I started embracing my unique looks when I started tuning out people who praised me for looking like an entirely different race, or those who absolutely adored how racially ambiguous I am. That shit is toxic and only makes you feel WORSE about your natural features. It’s no different than when I, a mixed child, was praised for not exhibiting the features of the less desired race. Thank God you whitewashed yourself! Because South Asian features are ugly! I don’t know how deep Kenna’s alienation with her own ethnicity goes. Maybe it isn’t as deep considering she’s white as fuck, but, by feeding her Japanese mask, she’s definitely, 100%, alienating herself from her own roots. So I’ll keep praising her for her TURKISH features because honestly I find her stunning. And because I refuse to visit that racebaiting hell on someone else. And those of you (@ her IG following) playing into her delusion... you’re not a fan. You’re not a friend. You don’t care about Kenna. You’re nothing but a yesman, and if you were a real fan/friend, you’d actually try to help her feel more comfortable in her own skin. Miss me with that virtue-signaling crap.
What’s telling about her captions is that she subtly likes her friends because she can “use” them to fulfill a role. Like she doesn’t say Bree is wonderful because she’s sweet or daring or determined or brash or considerate (she did say hardworking once so that’s a step up). Bree isn’t valued for what she “is.” Bree is valued because she disneybounds with Kenna, watches Netflix with Kenna, sees Broadway shows with Kenna. She serves a role. That’s why Kenna is friends with her, or at least that’s how Kenna portrays her in these kinds of captions. And there’s nothing wrong with valuing a friend because of the role they play in your life (in fact friends SHOULD fill a role). It’s just weird on a birthday post, a post that should focus squarely on who the friend is as a person rather than who the person is as a friend.
