Turkish coffee is very very different from 'normal' coffee or anything you'd find in a coffee shop like starbucks, the 'coffee' referenced in her 'coffee with Kenna' shtick was most definitely not turkish coffee The closest I can come to describe it is a more 'robust' version of espresso, served in the same quantities ( tiny cups ) except turkish/arabic coffee has a 'deeper' flavor and is usually spiced with cardamom and other things.
yeah, i wanted to say something similar honestly. as a muslim myself, i don't get why people were getting on her case for not mentioning eid at all-- first of all, eid is a muslim holiday, and afaik her family isn't muslim, and also not all turkish people are muslim. it's not a 'turkish' thing, just a muslim thing. like, if she has muslim friends it would be nice of her to wish them well for the holiday, just like any other religion, but there's absolutely no connection between posting about eid and celebrating turkish heritage???
honestly, i feel like if it wasn't for her awfully unflattering haircut + if she had worn a cuter and more flattering outfit and toned down the uwu ~west asian~ makeup these pictures would have been kinda cute not model contract worthy, but cute
This is kind of off topic, but I looked through that update account on instagram that archived a bunch of her posts and.. looking back on all her old posts, through every 'era' of kenna you can just see her becoming less happy and enthusiastic.. her smiles become more forced over time, her content less creative, etc. It's kinda sad and it's pretty obvious that she's only forcing herself to post these bland pictures and videos now just for ad revenue and yesstyle partnerships, but it's all so uninspired and painfully/clearly forced that she's losing followers + money left and right anyway
I can honestly say that I have no malicious feelings or thoughts towards Kenna but... at the same time... i really wanna see what would happen to our Budget Kween if/when she runs out of money from the way her wallet has been hemorrhaging ever since her plane landed in Japan
I don't understand why she insists on telling people she worked so hard, saved up so much, lived paycheck to paycheck, etc. while also humblebragging about buying a second PS4, blowing money on expensive disney passes and furniture for an already furnished airbnb/apartment she'll only be living in for a year, eating out almost exclusively, and going on shopping sprees. What makes it even more ridiculous is that it's not much of a departure from her life back in the states–– and that said, how is that a lifestyle of working, saving up, and budgeting all her 'hard earned' cash? It's like she can't decide whether she wants to portray some kind of 'struggling and hard-working millennial' image to be ~relatable or a 'perfect glamorous aesthetic life' image to be ~insta-famous/inspiring, but in the end when she keeps flip-flopping like this it just comes off as flakey and painfully clear that she's a trust fund baby who doesn't really know the value of a hard-earned dollar.
her hair.... i know we've been over this a million times before, and that we've all been here through the rapid decline in her hair's level of quality and texture and several bad haircut decisions but, seriously, for someone who puts so much 'importance' on and time and effort into her aesthetics and outfits and makeup and general overall 'look', how can she be okay leaving the house with hair that looks like that???
literally how hard would it have been to say something like 'some of my classmates had a hard time with my full first name so i shortened it' rather than her thinly veiled 'uwu my Western name is sooo complicated and unique, i took pity on these poor struggling foreigners and let them use this conveniently kawaii nickname' inb4 she starts calling herself 'kei' publically on all her platforms because 'this feels more like the real me, japan is my home and–––'
EDIT: also considering how globally widespread a certain fast food chain is, I sincerely doubt anyone had trouble with 'mckenna'
Kendra: hi guys welcome to my cute and small airbnb in cute and small japan, here's a cute and small video tour, take a look at the cute and small bathroom next to the cute little small kitchen, where i keep my cute cocoa puffs next to my small cocoa powder. also, here's my cute tiny little mostly empty fridge, you see, cute small fairy people like me don't actually cook for themselves or deign to ever touch any fresh veggies or fruits, and instead exist solely on sugar and various shades of brown-colored junk food for the a E s Th e t i C (ﾉ◕––◕)ﾉ*:・ﾟ✧
i feel like the editing + the way she styled herself ( curly hair, tiny flower sprigs as hair accessories, earrings ) reminds me a lot of 'old kenna'.. maybe she's backtracking to what made her popular on YT in the old days?
