We've heard you loud and clear - negative reputation is back. Remember that it's still against the rules to complain about being downvoted - if you think someone's mass-downvoting posts or otherwise abusing the reputation system, DM a mod and we will take care of it.
I think it's fine to imagine a character in any age you'd like, but to age up a preadolescent child for the sole purpose of making them sexy is disturbing. Take Kanna from Dragon Maid for example. She looks and acts like a child and attends elementary school. Would you ever think about her having sex? I sure as hell wouldn't!
I've seen a lot of people outside of this forum saying that it's fine to age up the characters for lewd artwork but it really isn't. If you look at an 11 year old and think they would be sexy as an adult, please see a therapist.
Usually, conventions have a limit to how much of your artwork can be fanart but I just looked at their policies and Anime NYC doesn't have any limit. I'm more concerned about what her display table was like seeing as all of her works are border lining on porn, some of which feature underage characters. Imagine walking down artist alley and seeing a loli character with huge deformed titties on display... yikes
I actually laughed myself to tears looking at these! Holy shit! Can we talk about how the girl in the first picture has a whole ass dress hanging from her neck?! And why does the last dude go from limp to raging hard on, holding up a peace sign with his tongue out? Looks like a meme format
She uses stock photos and then warps them to fit whatever she's painting. I don't mind it too much cause it looks great but it's usually the only thing that looks good which really says something about her art.
There are a few articles but I read this one: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/melanie-martinez-k-12-album-youtube-880480/ "The film includes music videos that correspond to each of the album’s 13 tracks, and these will also be individually released, one every two weeks. In between these clips, YouTube is partnering with Martinez on a four-part mini-series, thematically tied to K-12, culminating in what’s called an Artist Spotlight Story, which will demonstrate Martinez’s approach to songwriting, acting, and directing." If you mean what lyrics would I actually want to hear her talk about, I'm not sure. Nothing really stood out to me in this album. The lyrics I quoted are jarring but not in a way that makes me wonder how she came up with them.
Has anyone else heard about her partnership with Youtube? Apparently she's going to be doing a four part Artist Spotlight Story. I had no idea what that was so I watched a few by other artists and it's like a behind the scenes about how an artist writes their songs. Can't wait to see how she came up with genius lyrics like "It’s not just me, it's everybody who thinks that you're fucking ugly" and "If I pass this quiz, will you give me your babies?"
