I was curious so I sharpened it (only sharpened it btw), when I clicked back to compare the original I thought the original was a mistake I’d made because it was so smoothed out. Edit: I’m curious after sharpening if they use those “nosejob” inserts for selfies, at first I thought it might be the end of a piercing but that didn't make any sense
Trinity can actually do make up, I followed them awhile ago and watched them grow into being a model/starting T! If Rin put in effort, tried to be professional, and networked instead of having their sloppy manager and husband team begging for invites to makeup parties they could at least do editorials. Jude Karda shoops to hell and back and still has managed to get a foot in that door, just because they wanted to (And I don't have anything nice to say about them but they did the work to succeed at their aspirations). Rin is whining about not winning the lottery when they don't buy tickets. It’s useless and frankly annoying knowing all they probably do all day is sit around doodling on their face but they think they have the work ethic or drive to pursue a professional modelling career.
I’m sure it took them that way when their ”nose makeup” got picked up online as a ”trend”, I feel they have the sense that the more stuff they do that is over the top the more they'll get featured on articles and gain interest. Seeing their inspirations really drives it home they are most inspired by clown makeup looks, by which I mean they have no original ideas and just tag people as inspirations while they attempt to recreate the designs in a half-assed way.
It seems like they're also one of those people who doesn't like how they look in upright photos, like those Myspace people who choose upside down selfies.
It irritates me that they way they draw it seems to lend to ”soft yellow-facing” as its been called, they say they're Mexican openly thank god but they use a Japanese name while taking pictures using expressions/makeup that hints like they are trying to look like they have monolids. It's not serious enough to be all, ”They racefake” or anything like that but you just can tell they're a weeb who feels validated in a way when they're considered ”maybe asian”. They'll be lucky to not head down a road with Kenna levels of narcissism and fetishism. They literally chose their name because they cosplayed Rin, and they used to have all their Tumblr links in Japanese. I think they just think as long as they try and appear a certain way while saying they're Mexican its fine?
I just don’t get it? I don’t understand the inspiration to idea? Its like they take an idea and run it through a clown filter? It still bothers me they don’t even put the effort in to fill in the patchy makeup, they physically could take a couple more minutes and make the wings on the “eyes” a solid black. You can literally make out the lines they drew individually because they’re all very dry and cheap looking, they didn’t even bother to do the same number of “bottom lashes” in makeup on the look. They could have took the effort to achieve anything from the “inspiration” at all. There’s no realistic eye kaleidoscope imagery, no cool-toned red lipstick and pointed cupid’s bow, the eyes below aren’t even drawn to be upside down-it probably took them less than 5 minutes to pump out this ketchup and mustard spill. I don’t usually care to go in on how distasteful I think their makeup is, but I would be so offended as an artist if a grown adult drew a stick person and stuck it up beside a portrait in my gallery. No respect at all.
It reminded me of Meitu!! Which has those automatic filters that change the face shape (I’ll include a before/after using that for people to see of a Cara D pic because she's the first person I thought would be easy to find haha) and an app by Meitu called BeautyCam where you can literally just straight up change your features. I thought of beautycam at first when I saw the softening, there’s other similar apps as well like CandyCam (Edward Avila is a fan of that one). BeautyCam feature examples from Original to Most Edited, it’s easier than anything to move that slider.
The first thing I thought was ’Are they editing themselves to look like Gass.y?’ I think they’re growing increasingly insecure about their nose and the comparison is mostly coincidence because Rin wants to have similar features.
People will be mad over editing regardless imo, but the way I see it their face is supposed to be an ad for the product and they’re not doing their job well. It’s like how food companies used shaving cream instead of whipped cream for ads so it looks better and sells more. I’m not saying one’s more right than the other, but more that seeing the brands fall flat and be all uneven and muddy makes me want to not purchase it kind of deal. The reason i brought it up at all is because they edited their face but didn’t clean up the edges of their makeup, and I’m wondering why.
I honestly have no issue with the ”looks” because they’re just gonna do whatever anyways but what does bother me is they don't edit the colours. The makeup looks patchy, faded, and it doesn't look pigmented. It looks dusty, like chalk. The clown nose blush and facepaint is embarrassing, but IG they think maybe at least one will end up alright? I associate MILK with dewy looks, and there’s no ”healthy skin” look to their makeup. Their hair looks absolutely fried and dry, absolutely crispy. I'm sure they could pull off a shaved head look, and honestly it’d be better at this point. If you have access to editing tools as a ”MUA Instagrammer” or whatever they're going for it really makes me grimace to see they blur their nose into their face but don't smooth or polish their hair or makeup. Insecure about the wrong things.
The bedhead was better, the bowl cut isn’t doing it. I wish Rin lurked and took tips like other people so I could tell them to do a faux-hawk to save their hair until it grows out and they can layer it.
