    • Clarifying How To Use the Report Feature   06/29/20

Hello. I have noticed a great deal of confusion regarding how to use the report feature and what is expected regarding reports, so I am making a clarification announcement to users who may be unfamiliar with how the report feature works. Please note we have this rule regarding reports: 16.  Do report. Do not make frivolous reports (such as "I don't like this person"). Frivolous reports will result in a warning and possible ban. a. When reporting, please give a reason. Reports citing what rule the post is breaking and giving some information are way more valuable and will get the issue resolved faster. (Reports with no explanations sometimes require mods to go through and skim the entire thread to find out what's going on. Please save us time if you can). b. Don’t waste the mods’ time. Report people for breaking the rules, otherwise don’t report. [Rules in their entirety can be found here.] We also have a wonderful tutorial on how to use the report feature created by one of our former moderators which you can find here. In essence, we enforce the rules as they are written. In a rare occasion there may not be a direct violation but the user is still conducting themselves inappropriately and how we handle that is up to the moderators discretion. We do our best. We also encourage you to use the report feature to report posts that have been edited down to nothing or if you double posted and would like your double post hidden. Also, please note that we do not provide updates on reports. We get far too many to be able to keep up with every one. You are welcome to message a moderator to ask about your report, but please know that we cannot and will not divulge any information on whether we banned the user you are reporting. Simply that we have taken appropriate action. I hope this helps provide further clarification on how to use the report feature. Should you have any questions not clear in these instructions, please feel free to message me or Nyx. Thank you. *Please allow up to 3 business days (as we tend to be slower on weekends) for a response and for reports to be cleared.

I actually screenshot the posts so I got it covered! But yeah, next time please put pics instead of links
The hitler post is already up there so I won't repost it.

Yeah yeah I think that's fine if she's wearing the stuff regularly and not reselling it for a pretty high profit. I mean like... that $5 jacket she sold for $35..... lol... It seems like a bunch of the pieces in her depop are things she bought from the thrift store not really for herself, but with the intent to sell since a lot of things in it don't fit her correctly, or are too hard for her to incorporate into her looks frequently.
About the hair thing YEAH, I agree. That dusty pink was really nice  Plus it seems like Olivya is doing something again with her hair too...? They both change their hair so frequently omfg

Omg haha, it's ok. I think we all get nitpicky sometimes.
And I see what you're saying... that sounds pretty true to me. Different example but, look at how she has treated her subs in the past - shitting on them when they're the reason for her success. If that's not being ungrateful idk what is lol...
I get upset when clothes are ruined or stained too  It's so stressful tbh. At this point she seems to be pretty used to staining her clothes? lmao... but don't worry I think your reaction totally makes sense! Like most people try to preserve the nice things they have/value, but she doesn't (or has a harder time doing it?).

(Ok, first of all, I love Rian Phin - she's one of my favorite youtubers! She's so real!)
I think that this is a really, really valid point. Someone mentioned this issue to me a couple months ago and it was really some food for thought. Thrift shops original purpose is to serve low income citizens who do not have the funds to purchase new clothing - so by shopping at thrift stores, it's really a bit parasitic in a way? I mean of course, it depends on the extent to how much you thrift - the more you thrift, the more you are taking away from people who may need those resources. And it's a bit messed up to profit off of a system meant to serve people in need... which is what Mei is doing. In general, the rich (or upper-middle class) arguably shouldn't be taking advantage of a system designed to help the lower class. I wouldn't call that ethically (or morally?) sound. (feel free to correct me or anything - I'm tired so I might not make 100% sense)
The best solution is honestly to stop buying clothes, but I don't know if Mei would (or could?) do that since she has to be a e s t h e t i c and #goals all the time. Making clothes is a good solution too, but is pretty hard to get into the habit of doing admittedly  Making clothes takes so much time and effort, so kudos to her for sewing clothes now and then.
I'm thinking that both Mei and Olivya have been sponsored/partnered (or some kind of program) with Artic Fox maybe? I could be wrong but I think it's a reasonable possibility, since both of them are using Artic Fox as of late. I don't think Mei is the type to just give a shout out like that just for kicks. I think Mei is dying her hair so often because her hair videos tend to do waaaaay better than her other videos, take one glance at her uploads page and you can see the pretty huge difference in viewership.
tbh the 'rat' part was really extra omg but ok...
In my opinion I think it's OK that she made a comment like that - twitter is a place to just be candid and express your thoughts. It's not so much that the LOL is a real 'lol' (if you get what I'm saying) but shes just complaining about something in a lighthearted matter. A lot of people have a self-deprecating sense of humor so idk, I think it's fine. Tbh I think this thread is getting really nitpicky in some ways, man.  (this comment is not directed at you by the way - just the thread in general as of recently!)
As for the staining part, yea she should probably try a little harder not stain things but maybe she's just really clumsy in that way... I have a sibling who stains stuff pretty easily so some people are just more prone to staining stuff I guess lol? I think her parents probably don't care too much if she stains her stuff, I mean, it's her stuff so how she takes care of it is her responsibility. Unless she's wrecking the house or other family members stuff I imagine they don't really mind - they seem to be pretty supportive parents (they do support her youtube career so y'know, that's pretty supportive) .

Thank you for the upvotes on my last post! I appreciate that you guys appreciated it, LOL.
Another thing I wanted to mention is that Mei like... actually lied about not having a soundcloud ( in this video, she states she does not have a soundcloud - after 9 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F54AYFN5I0U also like when I was rewatching this vid, damn she is... whiny... holy heck.... I sped it up/skimmed through it because it was getting to be a bit grating). I happened to stumble across it a couple of months ago and it is definitely her, lmao. I'm not going to reveal her super secret soundcloud as she has not made it publicly known. I'm guessing she didn't reveal her soundcloud because she wants to keep all the music she finds to herself...? Lmao..... ok. She could have just said that she has a soundcloud, but prefers to keep it private, end of story. I don't understand why she didn't admit to having one...? Very snowflakey.....
She seems to be on it pretty often/frequently as she liked tracks that were released a couple days ago. So even if she did make her soundcloud known, it wouldn't be too hard to upkeep at all? It's pretty similar to tumblr in that you mainly 'like' and 'repost' (like reblogging, just in soundcloud) tracks. Super lowkey, tbh.

You guys should check out her SocialBlade - https://socialblade.com/youtube/channel/UCPlPMWbk0fy_zKvUDEnm0vw
I'm not 100% sure how SocialBlade works, but according to the estimated earnings, she's making a good amount/fair amount. She's obviously making enough to buy expensive clothes, so there's no need to re-sell them for more....? I guess she can do what she wants, but... I find it distasteful that she's trying to advertise this ~ ethical lifestyle ~ but not making it accessible to a lot of her viewers when she sells her stuff for so much. Most of her viewers are probably young adults - teenagers who probably don't have that much money to splurge. I remember back in her depop video (I think) she said 'I'm being nice and sharing these pieces with you all!' Girl, please. Just say you want to make some extra cash. We all know that's what you're after lmao.... just be real, geez. This hypocritical look ain't cute, Mei.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure she blogs for a living. She has constantly stated that she is broke. I don't know about her newer blog entries but at least in her older ones she has mentioned that she is in debt/has no money. I can't be bothered to pull up the exact blog posts, but if you read her blog she did talk about it before. Apparently a lot of brands contact her asking her to promo their stuff for free, but don't want to compensate her for advertising their clothes. She also mentioned she rents out locations to shoot in, pays her photographer, and other expenses (I don't think all her clothes are sponsored since her image is pretty curated? Some clothes are sponsored but a good amount probably aren't). I don't follow her, but I do take a look at her page sometimes. She's pretty edgy but I appreciate her originality and style - but she seems very unhappy a lot of the time (unsure of how she is lately). I hope that she can find happiness, tbh. I think she is really creative and a talented individual.
Edit - I don't think she lives in SG right now? I think she might be living in Vietnam at the moment. The t-shirt line they released lately is based in Ha Noi so I think it would make sense if she was living there presently.

I just wanted to play devil's advocate and post these asks from Junie's blog! This thread seems pretty one-sided at the moment, but hopefully this gives another side to the discussion
Also I don't know if anyone else noticed but Junie restarted their twitter this past week/last week (not sure what day it was exactly). She used to have 60K+ tweets and now shes around 1.5K or so?

FYI, 'Stay determined' is a reference/quote from the game Undertale. It's not an original phrase that Bon came up with - just wanted to clarify that!
Also I agree with everything you said... Bon.. it's ok... you don't need to try so hard to be the ~ shining light ~ (or snowflake?) for everyone... she is neither the hero we want nor the hero we need LMAO

Just because there is a group of people who don't find it offensive doesn't override the fact that there IS a large group of people who are not comfortable with him taping. I mean, the cos community's response to finding out his actions was... really big. I don't know if you are in the cos community but I personally am and - many, many, people were not cool with it. There is no true 'right or wrong' for anything really, but I think we can agree that his actions and the way he went about it was clearly not the best.
Also tbh, your example... doesn't really make sense - I think I understand what you were trying to do in the example but I don't know if it really works (in this particular context). Imitating one's culture vs. calling names are two very different things. I kind of get what you were getting at though.

Agreed, the thread has been incredibly redundant and going in circles for the past 10-15 pages. Everything has already been discussed and there really isn't much to add, unless Knite does something new. I really wish newcomers would read through the entire thread before saying something that was already said.

I'm no supporter of Bon at all, but tbh it is uncalled for to compare her to a terrorist. Bon is many things, but to give her a nickname referencing a terrorist is... not very cool. It just makes this thread look worse when we call her stuff like that. I understand you may not like her but there are certain boundaries you shouldn't cross, likening people to terrorists is one, as telling people to die is another (not that you said that, just an example).

Lmao I'm the one that originally posted the Erwin pics and I'm glad that people are calling him out. If he doesn't realize what he's doing is wrong, I really don't fucking understand what's going on in his head. He literally brought this upon himself by:
    1) Taping his eyes
    2) Acknowledging that it was racist and said he deeply regretted it, and wouldn't do it again
    3) Kept taping his eyes, what the hell...
And to those who are like, 'Oh but he's doing it because he admires asians' - please, just be quiet. He obviously has some self-image problems to the point where he goes out normally with his eyes like that but that's besides the point. This is modern yellowfacing. Maybe it isn't malicious, but it is still imitating another culture and their features, demeaning and entire race of people. We are being reduced to a costume with this kind of behavior. Yellowface in the past was painting your face and taping your eyes, a literal costume. But no one is going to do that now - it's too blatantly racist and everyone knows it's derogatory. You would have to be really ignorant or stupid to do that. I don't understand why so many people are trying justify and defend him - what he is doing is wrong. Yes, he is attractive but that doesn't mean he should be free from criticism.
Also, there are so many other ways to manipulate your eye shape without physically manipulating the skin (taping). Knitemaya calls themselves a makeup artist, so I don't doubt that they could do their eye make well and get that sharp eye effect. They obviously have makeup skills - the tape is so unnecessary.
Jesus. Knitemaya, just fucking admit you're in the wrong and STOP EYE TAPING. Come to light with what you've been doing and stop trying to cover your ass, it's only making you look worse. Ugh!
there's so much I wanted to say but lmao I can't remember it all... I'm really glad this thread has been active though this is important stuff to talk about

Ok so, I was looking through Knitemaya's tumblr and - I found these pics. He definitely tapes his eyes. Most of his cosplays, there are bangs on the side (which probably hides the tape), but on his Erwin cosplay you can see the flesh-colored tape.
I personally think it's a bit... questionable to tape your eyes, cosplay or not. I think that he should work with his natural eye shape rather than manipulating it for the sake of cosplay. To me, it's on the same level of "Is it ok to blackface in cosplay for the sake of 'accuracy'?" It's a very gray area... (I don't think it's ok to imitate another race, no matter what your reason/excuse is.)

Ooh, ok my bad about the wigs (I don't follow her so didn't know). I know that she had a page up for selling stuff though.
Regardless, I'd like the emphasize the last part of what I had said - Bon, stop complaining/throwing a pity party for yourself, and get your ass up and do something. You're an adult now. Things don't change unless you change.

  20. kyara added a post in a topic Puddingkanin / Bonbonchuu / Pele Whitney / lillaflan

I'm 95% sure her wigs are probably all $25-$10 cosplay wigs. She doesn't seem to use lace-front (and definitely doesn't use human hair wigs, those are the really expensive ones) which cost more. Bon's the type to tag stores/brands. If the wig was brand-name (ex: Gothic Lolita Wigs, Arda Wigs) we would probably know; her cosplay stuff seems to be mostly Chinese/Taobao/Aliexpress wigs. She's just a casual cosplayer and does mostly costests so no real need to purchase high quality wigs. And Bon is constantly talking about how broke she is so... yeah, don't really see her buying wigs that cost more than $30... I mean, you guys have seen her wigs before LOL.
And honestly, there are so many things you can do to earn money through the internet. Make an online shop, resell Taobao/Aliexpress goods, etc. You can even take online surveys to earn money. Learn how to code, become a web designer. Hell, she has a bunch of sponsored stuff I bet she could sell. She's not as helpless as she thinks she is or makes herself out to be. While her situation may not be the best right now, Bon, you're not really doing anything good for yourself by whining about it. Complaining about doesn't do anything good for you or the situation, it actually just makes you feel worse about the whole thing. Start looking for a damn solution, it's not so hard.

Same I don't really understand why she has so many followers, but whatever. And I really don't understand the horrible grainy quality of her pics - she obviously has a smartphone (she edits her photos on her phone) so even edited, the quality should not be so bad. I don't know how she gets all of her pics to consistently look so grainy LOL and why would you even want your photos to look like that? Is it to make the shoop less noticeable so everything becomes kind of blurry...?
Also we are in 2016 now, it's not hard to have quality photos at all. Even bonibel.chu has better quality pics and she's what, 13? So age is not it. If anything it is way easier to have higher quality pics nowadays!

I don't use oil paints too much, but when I do I use the Winsor and Newton water mixable ones! That way I don't need to use solvent and breathe in fumes.
As for acrylic, I think GOLDEN makes some really nice quality acrylics. The colors are really rich and smooth. You can tell they're high quality by when you clean your palette, the paint can peel off in one piece when it's dry - it's formulated well. They have a huge selection of glazes and mediums as well - I want to try them at some point when I have more money, haha. They look really cool. They're kind of more pricy though - Liquitex or Blick are fine as well if you're on a budget. I definitely would generally try to stay away from student grade or store brand paints (Like Michael's Artist Loft lol...)
Btw, I don't think you need to make a new topic. It is the artist and drawing thread so talking about materials/supplies is very relevant in my opinion!
We should talk about different digital programs/medias too, what programs do you guys use? Tablets specs?
Personally, I usually use Medibang Paint (I've been using it since 2012 and when it used to be FireAlpaca) a lot of the time. I have Photoshop CS6 as well, but I tend to use Medibang more since it's lighter on my CPU and simple. I've basically tried all of the digital programs out there - you name it, I've probably tried it haha. I use an Intuos Pro 5 Medium and sometimes my phone (it has a stylus).
