Did anyone see that she's in the kawaii.i fashion contest finalists??? To be honest I was under the impression that the contest had a ~level~ playing field but it seems that only bigger names in social media got selected to be finalists...
She had a video a while back about tips for starting a youtube video, and she said something like "find your aesthetic, cling to it, and never let it go". Sooooo she REALLY wants social media success or something because she doesn't allow herself to go outside of one aesthetic
She's got a spending problem yes, but also an instant gratification problem just like a lot of people in today's western culture. 600$ is a lot of money and it makes you wonder why she couldn't save for Japan sooner. It's because she can't live without buying.
I'm very disappointed in Kenna, but truly, I'm not surprised in the slightest that she's putting Japan and Japanese people on a pedestal. I just figured that after her recent art scandal and apology that she'd take her online presence more seriously and really think about things before putting them on the internet, but she's right back to her "UwU aesthetic! I'm so cute, Japanese people love to call me kawaii! I can speak for an entire group of people after only observing them for a week" attitude. So annoying! It's 100% fine to appreciate the beauty in a place. I once went to a beautiful place and think about it all the time. Everything I do, aligns with going back there at some point. That's fine. But putting an entire group, culture, and people on a pedestal, and then speaking for them, is NOT RIGHT and shouldn't be treated as though it is.
Honestly it could have been the weight gain in addition to her structure. With my body structure, if I gain only 8-10 pounds I can feel the difference when I walk. It just carries the legs a little differently. She probably gained more than 10 pounds so who knows...
She's taken on a new aesthetic, but it seems to me like she's still got a little bit of 2013-14 tumblr in her with that cigarette selfie. Anyone remember when it was super cool to take photos with cigarettes on tumblr?
It's a feeling. I mean, and it might just be me, but I've been getting a more pretentious vibe from her lately, and it's weird. I mean I'm not even the type to judge just to judge so I'm not trying to pull this out of nowhere, but I got a bad vibe from the school supplies video with her sister. It seems to me that they get along great, but in that video she seemed to almost elevate herself above her sister. Probably just me; everyone throw in their two-cents to I know whether I'm crazy or not
I can't tell if she just isn't trying with photoshop anymore so she looks unattractive, she is trying and thinks she looks attractive, or if she's trying to be more "herself" and stop shooping as much??
It's even worse that she referenced a youtuber by the name of Qcknd in her video (which if you don't know is a youtuber who has a lot of good quality tattoos and is educated on the subject of tattoos) and claims to watch her videos but I feel like she didn't take any tattoo advice that qcknd offers, like the fact that you're supposed to find a brilliant artist that can do no wrong by you to make sure you get a great tattoo. Jillian just went to the first shop and artist that could get her in because she has an instant gratification problem (i.e. her shopping problem)
If I remember correctly, you're not really supposed to cosplay at Disneyland/world because it breaks character continuity and children could mistake the person cosplaying as the actual person paid to dress up as the character.
I started watching her videos about a month ago, and I watched some not-so-old older ones, from like 3-4 months ago. Then I watched some of the newest ones, and honestly, I feel as though her personality has changed even in that short span of time. I'm not saying people don't change, and her aesthetic has been pretty consistent, but I feel like she kind of "blew up" recently and it's almost ?gone to her head? a little. Does anyone else agree??
