We've heard you loud and clear - negative reputation is back. Remember that it's still against the rules to complain about being downvoted - if you think someone's mass-downvoting posts or otherwise abusing the reputation system, DM a mod and we will take care of it.
Lol ironic indeed: "We planned the song coming out months ago, and she was preventing it. I got to watch her bully songwriters into signing NDA and not taking credit for songs that they were a part of. She doesn’t practice what she preaches. It’s really upsetting to work with a female that is very outward about a topic, but behind closed doors, it’s the complete opposite. It’s actually very disheartening to people that are actually feminists and supporters of other females." Say the "feminists" who stalk, abuse, and harass their former girlfriend. Like anyone is going to believe this. More to me like they are trying to fabricate reasons to cover up the fact they got dropped.
Her view count is abysmal. She has 2.3 million subscribers but barely caps 200K view per video on average, if even that much. Her relationship with her brand management is fucking weird. Her management company is run by her former BFF's, SoothingSista, sister (and I say former BFF because it seems like she dumped her once she realized she wasn't getting anything from her) and this woman is always tagged in her photos of partying and drinking. Jenn is overdiversified. From her clothing line, regular beauty/fashion YouTube content, random ass vlogs, random ass sponsorships. She sold out way long ago, and to be honest, this is who Jenn always was and always wanted to be. A wannabe "In" LA chick with no real personality who only cares about her reputation. She was better off being a fake hipster. Her content is boring, her clothes are so cheap you can see the threading coming loose in shots that aren't even close ups, and the fact she has to monetize her relationship speaks volumes about her priorities. Cheap dime-a-dozen LA asian chick with an inferiority complex that she claims to be over but obviously is not.
Whole thing seems really shady to me, and not just Tana but the whole Youtube community. Think about it. The debacle happens. And then a few days later, all the major content creators are putting out content commenting on it. Shane Dawson has a highly produced, highly edited, and LONG AF 3 part series on it within a few days. Yeah, I'm sure Shane has a big production team behind him, but the narrative seems too highly crafted to just be spontaneous. Paired with the fact that he already has this whole conspiracy theory series going from him, doesn't it seem weird that this series follows the same tone and narrative as those? My theory is that many of these major Youtubers were behind the whole thing for profit. It's easy. You martyr someone and then make a bunch of content lambasting hef as soon as possible in order to bank on the controversy. Tana was already a polarizing figure and we all expected something like this from her, so wasn't she an obvious choice? There just happens to be footage of Tana and that Michael guy talking about how they deliberately sold overcapacity. But who was filming that? Why would someone film that? Everyone goes on IG live sessions so they then have footage to edit from to make it seem like everything is spontaneous and true. Shane was using clips in his docuseries from Philip DeFranco to make it all seem more credible. All these other creators piggybacking off of Shane to make their arguments more credible. Doesn't it seem weird that everyone is just piggybacking off of everyone else? It seems too highly curated, and like they say, if something is too good to be true, it probably is. Feels like Lonelygirl15 on a massive scale 12 years later.
Ok, so I made like a one sentence post earlier, but now that I've had some time to look through the entire thread and do some unashamed social media digging, here's my take on this. I still stand by my original premise that Bobby once upon a time seemed like a high quality content creator and that LA really got to his head. But HOLY CRAP, I did not expect it to transform his and his girlfriend's personalities in the dramatic way it did. Like, honestly, it's pretty pathetic in the way that it's reshaped them completely. And I mean pathetic in the most literal sense of taking pity on them. I ask myself, "How could such a bright, insightful, intelligent young man turn into such complete pile of cringiness in the span of only a few months?" And it's this: he and his girlfriend are acting like a couple of podunk kids from the middle of nowhere who want to show off how absolutely cooooool they are for up and leaving for LA. Kids. Listen. There are over three million people living in LA proper ALONE. Smoking a joint doesn't make you cool because everyone, including your great grandmother, could go and roll up in the Golden State. They are trying so desperately hard to be Youtube's cool kids without Bobby even realizing that being genuine was probably what made Shane reach out to him in the first place. I don't know anything about the dynamic between Bobby and his girlfriend, but if you want to talk about absolutely no individuality, I suggest you scroll a year and a half back into her IG. She looked just like a normal basic white girl from the middle of nowhere, and now she relocates to LA and looks like any other basic girl in LA with her shoulder length bleached blonde hair. She is also completely dependent on him. Like, there is nothing interesting about her at all as a person other than the fact she dates him, and her feed reflects this. Like, don't you have any dreams or aspirations of your own? Their age is showing, and badly. I get it, relocating across the other side of the country is stressful and difficult. You feel like your first few months are going to define the rest of your time there, and "OH MY GOD I just spent thousands of dollars and am away from my friends, my family, and everything I ever knew. I better hustle to make this work or I will completely flop!" No. That is what you think when you are 21. When you get older, you realize that the only thing that is going to make you successful is what little honesty and individuality you have because everyone can smell fakeness from a mile away. It's sad, because based on his history of making videos and idolizing creators, I know becoming a successful Youtuber is something he really wants. If anything, watching his old videos on what made creators genuine and disingenuous, he technically SHOULD be able to become one of those people he respects. However, sometimes the only way to grow up is to first flop hardcore on your face. So with the way thing are going, let's see if he can salvage whatever he has by having any ounce of self reflection and turn things around. Or if he wants to continue to be a woke, edgy millennial (no stabs at millennial but he is totally buying into the whole sterotype) and try to fake his way into a decent living. Also, why is his house so damn big, it's only him and his girlfriend. Maybe if you got a smaller house, you could relax and afford to make content you actually cared about lol
Just another interpretation, but given the abuse allegations against Titanic, the whole "I invented Mars Argo" tweet gives off a narcissistic vibe. It's pretty common of abusers to take the stance of "I made you who are you and you're nothing without me!" and belittling the other person's contributions and individuality. This is all speculation of course since none of us truly know the dynamics of their relationship. I always got a weird vibe from him though and am not inclined to take what he says at face value...
Dang, I remember watching some of his videos when he did reviews and commentaries on movies and thought he was a very talented video editor and had a lot of potential. Sad to hear it’s come to this but it’s not uncommon when people move to LA. His age and immaturity is showing. Sounds like the internet fame shot to his head too quickly.
Ok, I’m going to preface this saying I’ve been a long time fan of Ceilidh. Not as long as some but I found her when she had a relatively small following on IG. She was my favorite IG’er. Girl has a real artistic eye (for herself and other things lol) and always looked forward to her content. But goddamn did she reveal herself to be a freaking hot mess. Like, seriously, how is she even alive right now? How does she have any money? When was the last time she’s had a job because based on her posts it seems all she’s done for the past 2 years is sit at home and mooch off the guys she’s dating. Heroin’s a hell of a drug is the only response I have. When it comes to her, her problems are ALWAYS someone else’s fault. Her family, her boyfriends, her so called friends. I’m not at an expert at human relations but if you’re constantly having problems, maybe look at the most common factor, which would be yourself. At one point I saw a lot of promise in Ceilidh, and apparently so did a lot of people who hired her for modeling gigs. But that hasn’t been there in a long time. Her behavior must have run them off. And kissing her ass hasnt done her any good. It just reinforces the idea she’s done no wrong. Im glad she’s taken off from social media. That just seemed to feed her appetite for constant reassurance WHICH SHE DOES NOT NEED. Honestly, she needs a swift kick in the pants which this thread has given her. Girl’s life has deteriorated into a mess. Get yourself off social media and start investing in a future beforehand you start becoming a drain on society.
