Hello everyone,   As promised, we're working on some changes to improve the forum and community! So far, here are the recent changes: Negative reputation has been disabled. Upvoting remains intact. This is a trial run to deal with whiteknights brigading certain topics and salty users mass-downvoting users they disagree with. Some text formatting options have been removed. Some users like to format their posts in ways that make them harder to read or downright obnoxious. (Light colors, tiny fonts, etc), so this helps make threads more readable. If you find yourself needing post formatting because you're making a new thread, please contact a mod and we will make it happen. New threads have to be approved anyway, so you're not going to have to start out with an ugly thread. Text formatting remains available to all users who have supported us via Patreon. No more threads on "Online Personalities". We will NOT lock or remove old threads, but we won't approve new threads about people who don't have any history of drama or controversies. Some threads will be moved to the snowflake sections if applicable. Read the new topic guidelines before you make a new thread. Here are our works in progress: New categories will be added. "Little Snowflakes" is too broad of a spectrum, so we're going to sort our flakes into a few sub-sections to keep things organized. We will also make more use of tags for those flakes who transcend categories. This will also allow us to appoint moderators to specific categories or snowflakes. New moderators will be onboarded soon.

yeah they’re claiming that the video is misogynistic because the girls are only dancing and don’t have an actual role. But the song is about partying and that’s all everyone did....party lol

also the way Sehun was telling the fans to behave today...I wish more groups did that.  Exols were pushing the barricade and he said “I don’t want to say hello” and then “I thought Exols could keep proper etiquette”

Chinese idols are different.  Jackson, Kyulkung, Chinese members of Uniq etc, all promote in China while also promoting with their korean groups outside of China. A lot of idols were doing really well in China, the market for kpop is huge there.
this is to my own knowledge, if i am wrong please correct me

also @taler didn’t the government invite them?
I feel iffy about it because even if it is private, it’s probably just a way to make the outside world/other countries more accepting/ignore the things they do “they deny people their human rights, BUT now they’re allowing kpop groups to perform!” .  I am also not denying that other countries that kpop groups have performed in are innocent either  please don’t take it that way.

I'm honestly curious what everyone's thoughts on bts in saudi arabia are because I am thoroughly confused about it.

I agree , I’ve also been a fan for a really long time and what frustrated me about their later releases is that it seemed sm didn’t care.  They’re music didn’t mature with them, I don’t want them singing some weird bubblegum pop song about partying and getting drunk, that’s played out for them.  You think had potential, but a bunch of different components made it so tiring , from the “you’re not” in the back ground to the dance it was just bad.  They’re 30 years old, I’m okay with a more mature sounding song, which is why I prefer their solos now, yuri’s was definitely my favorite.

Im not sure how to put it in a spoiler since I’m on mobile:
I think it’s worth it, it’s actually all pretty thick soft material, I was pleasantly surprised.  I ordered during the half off sale and bought a few more items full-price later on. Because the material is thick, it may be hot!!! DM me if you want more info lol
i think to this day, lost and save me are two of bts best tracks, they’re “basic” I guess, but they’re so effortlessly good. Also the only solo song I actually liked from wings was jungkooks begin, the others were more than forgettable for me.

i definetly think that whitewashing/lightwashing is a problem.  I don't agree with  how ifans handle it by harassing the fansites, but i also don't buy with the fansite's lame excuses of "poor lighting".  Usually if you watch fancams, you can see that they're not an actual reincarnation of casper the ghost.  I don't buy their excuses because they even edit company released photos and make them white as hell.  Look at the photos, guess which one was uploaded by the company and which one was uploaded not even 10 minutes later by the fansite.

I don’t think he’s THAT bad, I guess I don’t mind his rapping as much as other.  But I was rly surprised that sm moved Kai from rapper to vocalist instead of Chanyeol because I think chanyeols voice is better.
Sehun was also rly bad to me before, but he definitely got so much better.
I think what makes a lot of idol rapping so unbearable is that they all try to mimicking the same exact styles, either super nasally for girl groups or out-of-breath for boy groups.
But my fave idol rapper was definitely Zelo, idk his raps always ended up being my fave parts.

did you look at the korean lyrics?  The song is literally them saying “I don’t care what others think, I’m happy the way I am” .  The chorus is “don’t judge me using your standards, I like myself the way I am” .

I’m pretty disappointed in Baekhyun’s album, when I read rnb, I expected more vocal heavy rnb, the trey songz or take me down Chris brown kind , but this fell rly flat for me.  To me, it did nothing for him, he’s so talented, but this album made him seem so bland.  He decided to do more hiphop-esque rnb, which is fine, and some songs definitely worked more than others, but even the title track...not great.  I did like some songs, but I just think he could’ve done so much better.

  14. CrysCrys added a post in a topic Find Your Love In Japan (Nobita)

    summary
Intro: defines nationalism as  caring much more about your own country, not accepting foreigners. talks about how in Japan foreign presence and influence is very common and now more and more students are going overseas to study and they come back very influenced. Talks about xenophobia and racism(photos of anti korean, anti lgbt, articles).  How Japan is giving more and more support foreign business and children.
main point: he saw a vox video about Japanese right wing nationalism in the rise which inspired this video.  The video starts off mentioning how Japan sugarcoats history(using a textbook as an example), played off Nanking massacre and comfort women.  He claims that barely any schools use this textbook and that students DO study this and other controversial topics, but probably forget after tests.  Goes on rant about Chinese textbooks and patriotism (that’s a whole other issue, he rly just deflected imo).  Japan First Party- mentions that no one supports them.  Says Abe is not as conservative as he used to be.  Feminism is in the rise in Japan so that means right wing ideology is out!!! Also mentions how it may be on the rise individually , but not on a societal level.
TL; DR- right wing nationalism is not on the rise in Japan because Feminism, foreign workers and lgbt groups are more accepted?
all the comments are calling Vox sjw trash lmao

I went to KCONNY yesterday and was rly excited for a few of the groups especially gidle since I could never get into their music(supported soyeon since p101 tho), but maybe seeing them live would change my mind.  However, their songs are even more boring than I remember like omg.  Senorita was especially bad, all of their songs are tasteless to me.  I appreciate them trying different styles and the members do seem talented, but yeah their music is just not for me I guess.
