    • Be a moderator! & Reports Announcement   03/07/19

We're aware that PULL needs more moderation and attention, so we're actively looking to expand our mod crew! If you're a regular user and intend to stay this way, then rest assured that we're working on improving PULL for you. In order to do this, we rely on user reports, so I'd like to take this opportunity to ask everyone to report posts you think break a rule, disrupt discussion or shouldn't be allowed.  There is absolutely no concern over getting too many reports - we get a handful of reports per week. More reports would be great because it helps us figure out how our users want the forum to be - leaving criticism in threads doesn't make it easy for mods to find your opinions. Furthermore, don't worry about being a "snitch" or too harsh - a report doesn't mean action will be taken, that's up to the mods. A report really only tells us to look at the comment and to gauge the community atmosphere. Often times, peer pressure or established community atmosphere will dictate the direction a thread takes, and criticizing certain posts can be uncomfortable or downright futile when the majority disagrees with your view. This leads to groupthink and degradation of thread quality because the loudest/most active users get their way. So reporting is a way to quickly and anonymously (to other users) give feedback to the moderators. If we don't get this feedback, we think everyone's happy and there's no need for change. So use this feature as much as you'd like to help shape PULL into a more constructive community again. If you'd like to be a moderator: Click here for the application form.

I don't get this. Am I the odd one here? What's her deal with saying that she's "baby free" for the day as if that's a good thing? I mean I get it to a certain extent, new mothers have it hard, but she... literally just gave birth? It gives me a bad impression, signalling that she isn't taking her child or her birth very seriously at all. And just one thing: I'm not saying that she's wrong for wanting to dress up and go out, but it just strikes me as so incredibly immature... Haven't you got other, better things to focus on?
    Side note:
Someone I know got pregnant when she was what, twenty maybe? And gave birth just shy of her 21st birthday. She acted really immaturely at the time too, saying stuff like "oh man I miss drinking and having fun" when she was pregnant, talking about how she was locked down and stuff after she gave birth. She even broke it off with the child's father because he wasn't so interested in having fun and partying, instead he focused much more on the baby. Like that shit was tragic to witness. Fortunately she has grown up a lot since then.
Jasmine really reminds me of her with this kind of post. It signals that her behavior is centered around herself, and that her child is a toy (much more so now, with that disgusting photo holding her by the neck). I feel really bad for little Luna. She hasn't made herself deserving of that kind of treatment from a mother who already (!) lives vicariously through her, who then also turns around and says "I'm baby-free even though I just gave birth and my instagram hashtags would imply that I'm much more attached to her than I actually am!". She is so trashy...

I think the reason she does this is because of a) her fetishization/interest in Asia and East Asian people and b) because she hopes to eventually capitalize on these people. We saw her do this when she was in Japan last time, when she hung out with Mei and commented on a bunch of her posts, commented on Marzia's posts (because they were in Japan at the same time) and so on. She's just trying to get noticed while she is also catering to her interest in these people.
As an aside, I'm not sure modeling will work out for her at all, no matter how famous her future friends might be. I straight up think that she is too lazy to make it work. Like I get that she's busy with school and all, but she posts next to no content these days and when she does eventually post it's incredibly boring and non-engaging. It was like this before she left for Japan, too. I just don't see her being able to make a future for herself there at the current rate.

Who exactly is the planning on giving this list to anyway...? Like, why does she think this will succeed?

Miranda: "Konnichiwa Google, here iz 100 people who don't like this website alhamdulilla. Take it away from in front of my eyes when I am computer"
Google HQ: "Yeeeeeeeaaaaaah, that's too bad Miranda, but even the Westboro Baptist Church has like 3000 signatures in total for a whole bunch of gay porn websites and that doesn't do shit to the search results. PULL stays lol bye girl"

And if not to Google, then to who will she hand it? To Nyx?

Miranda: "Konnichiwa Nyx, here iz 100 people who hate your website, me and my sugar glider included. Stop to be bully me pls"
    Nyx: "No"

And if not to Nyx, then to who???+? The whole internet????

Miranda: "Dear citizen of internets, it is my anti-bullying crusade that I will embarq on inshallah. Please to never be watch PULL again or else I will be in contact to the cyber police and consequences will never be the same yadungoofd"

I feel like Cardi B with this whole petition. Why did you post it, Miranda? It cannot possibly be because you think you'll get anywhere with it. So why? Whyyyy?

Jokes aside, I hope she addresses the candid of the sleeping man. He doesn't deserve that. Judging from the image setting as well, it doesn't appear to be in public either, more like private property (like inside of a Yoshinoya for example), which makes that kind of thing not just morally reprehensible but illegal, too. Reminds me of TkyoSam and the GoPro camera that he put on the conveyor belt in a sushi restaurant, and that sushi chain basically ended up saying "sorry, no more filming ever inside of our restaurants" because of his lack of regard. Japanese folks don't fuck around when it comes to privacy, like they will go to some serious lengths to protect the individual's rights (fun fact: they even wrap your books for you at the book store so nobody will be able to see what you've purchased). I don't know why she thinks it's okay to do that kind of thing.
I also don't know about you guys, but I almost always feel bad when someone is being filmed or photographed unbeknownst to them, especially if they're doing something innocent. If it's animals on vine, then yeah, ha ha, very funny, but at the end of the day it's like this: a person is going about their business and they're not trying to end up on tape on someone else's phone. A sleeping guy on a table likely doesn't want that shit documented and posted by someone with a huge following, same thing with all these candids. This is why there is no possibility of purchasing a phone in Japan (or China for that matter) where the camera shutter sound is mutable, they're always on so that nobody will be able to sneak a shot of someone else against their will. You literally have to buy a phone from another country if you want to mute the camera shutter sound. Idk, man... I just... Get so disappointed. Kenna, please do not to do this!

I kinda feel bad for saying this, but I wondered why she never brought this video up since she clearly feels that aro/ace folks have it hard, until I realized that it's probably because she doesn't feel that her look is very flattering. I mean the message of the video is really good, you'd think that maybe she'd mention something about being a part of this little project and that she's proud to speak about aro/ace issues and other sexuality spectrum thoughts, but I guess not. Gosh, that makeup... "They say that blending is hard, you know?"

Who do we talk to when we want to suggest that threads should be merged?
The title basically says it - I found two threads, one which has been approved and one which is still hanging out in the approvals section. Thing is, the non-approved thread has more information than the other one, can something be done about this? What if this happens again? Who do we talk to?
    Thanks!

My fave salad is one that my dad makes, it's like a local type of salad that even here, not many have heard of, it's called Mariasallad. I even tried googling it, I didn't find shit lol. It is a heavy-ass salad you guys, and it usually tastes amazing the day after you make it, since by that time all the flavors will have mingled a lot more. Anyways! Here's the recipe:
    Contents:
Chopped celery (2-3 stems)Peeled and cubed apples, generally red ones (1 or 2)Cubed cheese (a white and hard cheese, my dad recs "prästost", a local cheese which is kinda musty and really tasty)Drenched in:
Cottage cheese (one box)Sour cream (3-5 deciliters)Seasoned with:
SaltPepper (white and black)Lemon juice (if it tickles your fancy)And mix mix mix until it looks all white and gooey.
And lemme tell y'all. This shit is so damn good. I feel bad because I haven't veganized it yet, mostly because my dad tends to serve it with a slab of steak and... well... I've never really gone in for that part. But even as a standalone it's delicious. I'm wondering what might be good to eat it with, maybe some kind of tofu steaks? Has anybody tried marinating tofu with liquid smoke and some other spices/herbs?

Oh my God, the salad recipe looks so good afasgsdgfasf I fucking LOVE potatoes in salads and stuff!
Mini-rant about salads underneath the spoiler:
All your recipes look so good! I love your blog! One thing that might not be very common in Romania but that you can use as a substitute for the pork in your bell pepper recipe is in essence quorn or minced soy meat. In Sweden there is a brand called Anamma and they have the most amazing knock-off soy meat I have ever tried! I use it as stuffing and in all kinds of stuff and plenty of my friends who have tasted dishes with Anamma in them have said that they can't tell the difference. I'm probably going to make your oriental salad next

Thanks for all the replies to my seiyuu post, but I know that she'll never make it as one. I only speculated about what she will attempt because an entertainment visa, in her mind, can entail any and all interests that Kenna may have at the moment. This being said, my personal expectation is that her statement about trying to get an entertainment visa will be the same as when she said that she might try out modeling, which is ridiculous and will likely never happen. She said she talked to a talent agency willing to sign her, but my skepticism knows no bounds, so until the day she announces her contract I'll remain doubtful.
Side note, the video she uploaded was okay. She was a lot more natural in it than in her previous video.

Makes me wonder if she's gonna try to cash in on that seiyuu action since she registered as a voice actor (without any gigs I presume). Gaijin voices in anime maybe? Pretty sure that's one of her dreams.

What... what does this mean? I'm so confused. Like I literally squinted at my screen for a solid 45 seconds trying to decipher this.
Arrow on head = anime character man is meant to be Aang
Points at Frozen 2 = Avatar?? But anime man is confused???
How is Frozen 2 equal to ATLA? What is the correlation? I get that the meme format is that anime man points to a butterfly and asks if it's a bird (he is confused/stupid/doesn't get it/misunderstands), and... so... What is the actual joke? Anime man/Aang doesn't understand that Frozen 2 isn't ATLA?? This makes no sense?
    Frozen 2 =/= ATLA.
    Ok.
    Ok???
    Or??????

I have upvoted you because I think that it's always good to do your best and contribute, but I feel the need to explain that plantromance and ilovenaturalmedicine (didn't thoroughly check out the rest for now) are very unhelpful pages in many aspects, sadly. A large part of the reason why veganism and vegetarianism often aren't taken seriously is because people are directed to false and entirely unscientific pages such as those. As I am vegan I am more than a proponent for how healthy you are able to become and how healthy your lifestyle can eventually be when you go plant-based - there are many physical issues that can be remedied through the consumption of plants. Without a doubt, I feel so much better since I went vegan.
With that being said, the no-meat movements lose traction and credibility when so-called "holistic health" pages spew absolute and total nonsense such as broccoli being an anti-cancer agent or that carrots help your eyesight in the same picture (a propaganda myth created by the British government during WWII to give the axis powers the impression that carrots were the cause of their amazing pilots' aim, when in fact it was their new radars that they installed in the planes). It also says that apples prevent cancer and that these plants can "detox" your body when that is so incredibly far from the truth.
I feel like vegans and vegetarians alike have a responsibility to ensure that no misinformation is spread and that we don't rely on non-peer reviewd research and publications, that that means that we cannot rely on instagram pages such as these. There is no "detoxing" of the body - your liver and kidneys take care of that for you. This is where fads such as juice and tea detox programs come onto the scene; these do not help and often just act as mild laxatives while promoting water loss from your body (leading to you shitting more and slimming down from less bloating) - but you are starved of nutrients at the same time. Let me elaborate without sub-text: there is not a single piece of research that supperts the idea of "detoxing". It doesn't exist.
One of the worst things we can do is spread this false information and act as though it is entirely fine to be reliant on things which are proven to have little or no effect. It is also extremely cruel to hand out false hope to those who are suffering from alzheimer's or cancer and tell them that as long as they eat broccoli or consume omega 3 and coconut oil then they will be fine or their ailments will be lessened. How can we justifiably say that "natural antibiotics" will help someone who suffers from gastroenteritis, streptococcus or pneumonia? They will only have an extended period of suffering without actual, prescribed antibiotics. Turmeric and honey are supposedly things that "even doctors can't explain" now? C'mon.
I want to explain - I am not criticizing you, only these pages. Again, like I said, I am all for seeking out plant-based alternatives for achieving a better overall health for your body, but I refuse to entertain the idea that people who have diagnosed issues will have it all solved just by eating som ginger, ginseng or blueberries. People have been eating (over- and underconsuming) vegetables for millennia and they still fell ill and died. My point here is that we tend to veer in the direction of the things we want to believe, but these things can be insanely subjective and are sometimes just smoke and flashing mirrors designed to fool you.
This being said, it's not like these pages are entirely useless. They contain motivational pictures, quotes and different ways of thought, not to mention that there is truth to certain things they post - the stretching and exercise advice is great! My only qualm is that there is so much misinformation that we need to avoid. Sorry for the long post, but please consider this. I only want the best for people, and while plants can do a lot, they can impossibly do everything.

EDIT: How fucking DARE they post this shit! A fruit cures your cancer? Jesus Christ! It doesn't take much to be disappointed, it really doesn't. Look at this, this is scientific research which proves that cancer patiens who turn away from medicinal treatments have significantly lower survival rates. We can't stand for this! People die from this misinformation.

Thank you guys so much for the replies!
I agree a lot with you on the seasoning thing, I kinda feel like lots of recipes could be improved so much more just by seasoning more intensely. That being said, I think a part of it might have to do with how the chef behind the recipe feels about food in general. I follow a couple of people but I tend to be pretty lazy with reading the blog parts, mostly because I'm interested in the actual food haha.
That being said, I find that The Korean Vegan does a good job of being both descriptive and good at seasoning, mostly because Korean food requires heavy seasoning to really catch those flavor nuances. There is also a Swedish blogger called Jävligt Gott (the name can be translated to Fucking Good or Bloody Good) and this man seasons the shit out of his stuff lemme tell ya. I tried to make a traditional Christmas dish called Janssons Frestelse (Jansson's Temptation) and it came out packed with flavor! The link leads to his vegan recipe category, and the website can be translated with Google Translate and still give a pretty good result.
