    • Be a moderator! & Reports Announcement   03/07/19

We're aware that PULL needs more moderation and attention, so we're actively looking to expand our mod crew! If you're a regular user and intend to stay this way, then rest assured that we're working on improving PULL for you. In order to do this, we rely on user reports, so I'd like to take this opportunity to ask everyone to report posts you think break a rule, disrupt discussion or shouldn't be allowed.  There is absolutely no concern over getting too many reports - we get a handful of reports per week. More reports would be great because it helps us figure out how our users want the forum to be - leaving criticism in threads doesn't make it easy for mods to find your opinions. Furthermore, don't worry about being a "snitch" or too harsh - a report doesn't mean action will be taken, that's up to the mods. A report really only tells us to look at the comment and to gauge the community atmosphere. Often times, peer pressure or established community atmosphere will dictate the direction a thread takes, and criticizing certain posts can be uncomfortable or downright futile when the majority disagrees with your view. This leads to groupthink and degradation of thread quality because the loudest/most active users get their way. So reporting is a way to quickly and anonymously (to other users) give feedback to the moderators. If we don't get this feedback, we think everyone's happy and there's no need for change. So use this feature as much as you'd like to help shape PULL into a more constructive community again. If you'd like to be a moderator: Click here for the application form.

i only found about the moomins show about 2 years ago and yeah it's a pretty cute show. not a lot of people know about it. It's technically an anime which is weird to think about tbh. I see why they would choose Dodie to be on the moomins soundtrack, she's very mellow and I'm not sure how the new adaptation will be but if it's anything like the 90's anime then it would be a good choice

they certainly went above my expectations especially since it seemed like their popularity was only gonna be based it off of how they look tbh. they have such nice voices i love love love it so much. also i'm glad they did it in english assuming that at least most of them don't know even basic korean? it always feels messy when people have to do songs in a language they don't know

I always found it weird that Victoria was never really there but maybe since Victoria was the star of Victorious she was trying to focus on that rather than hanging with them? I feel like it didn't have to do with any beef, but more like Nick focused on her so much that she was kind of out of place from the others. The whole "I think WE all sing" is so funny though but it's kind of taken mostly out of context in my POV because they also started saying Liz sings all the time too and they just kept bringing people up so she was like ok we GET IT! I think they have a slight distaste towards each other but they would never say anything to one another
The Jennette McCurdy thing surprised me though because they acted like bffs when they were filming. I think after Victorious ended she kind of had a shift in personality. Like she knew she was capable of more and deserved more almost? Sam & Cat was around the time Ariana's singing career started and more focus was shifted onto her.
I've been a big fan since Victorious too, although my opinion always shifts on people, it's mostly been that I love her.

Haha yeah I hated using the word 'sexy' but it's literally what he said. He's a huge fan of Hyuna and I guess when he saw Itzy's teasers he was expecting that kind of style? Like I love Hyuna too but she's been an idol for so long and these kids are like brand new, they're not gonna do anything daring like she did.
He kind of just refuses to listen to anyone else like he's really the most annoying Blackpink fan I've ever met and he's not even like a koreaboo tbh
I haven't seen a group with a floppy debut in a long time. I wasn't a k-pop fan at the time but I heard EXO and Red Velvet's debuts didn't really do well? Obviously people love them now so if they were given the chance then Itzy will too

I honestly didn't see many people who liked Itzy's debut tbh (or at least as much as I liked it). I didn't have any expectations at all really but I ended up liking them a lot. I've mostly just seen people say "I didn't like this song but I'll give them another try next time!". It's good that people are willing to support in the future though tbh because they see the potential!
One of my friends hates most of girl groups songs because they sound too happy/cutesy and he was disappointed with Itzy's comeback because he was expecting the 'bad girl'/'sexy' kind of concept.
Spoiler because I kind of rant about the friend lol:
Anyway I guess there's just a lot of pressure on groups from the big 3 to be very impactful but they're always really young kids and people are always nervous / awkward when they're rookies. The standards are also very high now compared to a few years ago I think since k-pop is so well known now. K-pop is also very much different from how it was back then and people like to reminisce on the past! I did see a few people say Itzy's debut reminded them of old k-pop though so idk?
Buuuut I'm really easy to please though so there's that also

please don't do that thing stan twitter does and bring up other artists. it's annoying and off topic. this is why people hate kpop stans. y'all bring up some other artist when another celeb or even yourself are being called out on something. people have their own reasons to dislike cardi b, don't get so offended

I haven't seen much negativity about it honestly and it surprised me so much especially when she was this close to getting #cancelled by twitter! Can't believe she was able to dodge it so easily

I used to be part of the "phandom" lol I hate that word now but I noticed a lot of people who like/liked Dan & Phil moved onto kpop. I've seen this comparison so many times it's funny yet really sad at the same time because people really can't quit their shit

The most interesting thing about this video is that one of his comments says that "she stopped replying to texts, changed her number, and won’t reply to dms anywhere." It seems like lately a lot of people have been even more concerned so she's been pushing them away. Whenever someone has an illness they refuse to acknowledge and someone tells them to get help, they often go "you don't understand" but since she's probably heard it multiple times so she's blocked contact with all friends. Being isolated from others make it worse sometimes but I don't know if that's the case with her since we don't know how long she's been doing this

I used to think I was trans male (and thankfully I never came out as such because it would have been embarrassing to be like lol nvm) but recently I've started to identify as non-binary. I've had dysphoria ever since I started hitting puberty tbh. I'm comfortable with female and male pronouns but I like to be called male more idk. I plan to get top surgery one day but we'll see if that ever works out lol (hopefully it'll happen though, I've wanted it for so long).
I used to be one of the people who would say "you don't need dysphoria to be trans" but now idk why I ever thought like that especially since I myself was really dysphoric. It's kind of insulting when you see people who are comfortable with their genitals call themselves trans when actual trans people struggle so much to achieve that comfort. My bestest friend is female and identifies as such and she always cuts her hair and dresses very tomboyish, when others could do the same but they'd say they're trans just to feel special.
I'm also bi but I don't really know the difference between pan and bi. One time I read somewhere that people say bisexuality isn't limited to female and male but like also non-binaries and other genders? I'm not sure though but both are valid anyway! I'd never exclude trans people from my attraction since I'm attracted to both females and males anyway. I always tend to lean towards girls more though they're so s o f t (at least that's the kind of girls I tend to attract to) and cute!
Also I think it's kind of offensive when people say that pansexuality includes trans and bisexuality doesn't because it's saying that they're really not actually male/female but some other like third gender or smth.

I know I'm late but I still just wanted to say this lol
In her book, she had a part where she talked about how she used to starve herself so she could feel good about herself but then after a while her fans started getting concerned. I think she said she eats healthy now and that the way you look shouldn't matter? Just the typical love yourself and your body thing tbh. I don't think people should talk about loving themselves or their body until they've really gotten over most of it at least because it doesn't seem like she has.
In that chapter I think she also was like "I stopped those bad habits because I didn't want my young audience to be influenced badly" which was kind of weird to me because she still does and says a lot of things that can negatively influence her young audience but idk

I read it when I was very depressed so it's a bit of a blur to me but basically she just talks about her mental health, how she used to be a happy little girl for the most part when she was younger, and her family had issues and little stories about getting drunk or being with friends. Her book felt like things she could have made videos on although she kind of did make videos about some of them (derealization, her bisexuality, etc).
She also spoke about her very abusive relationship for the first time in depth and I think that's mainly the reason why she's the way she is?
I've been in a bad relationship as well and you kind of get used to victimizing yourself and want to be seen as someone who desperately needs to be protected and cared for. I've had lots of trouble voicing how I felt towards people and she felt that way when she was in the relationship so now most likely she's very vocal about everything because before when she wasn't it had hurt her. She always used to blame herself for everything bad that would happen in the relationship, so when she got out and realized it wasn't her fault she probably developed the feeling that she's always right lowkey? People mentioned her victimizing herself before in this thread but I really think it stems from the abusive relationship she was in.
A little thing that I also found interesting is that when she was little she really really wanted to be famous. I don't know what to say about that really but she also said that she felt like her dream came true because of YouTube. I just find it a bit strange that that always seems to be people's goals?
I'd really speak more on the book but these are the only things I can think of from the top of my head. I like her videos and music but I don't like how she treats mental illness but honestly I think you get kind of numb to it after a while? It just seems like it's how life is supposed to be after you've had mental illness for a long while. In one of her recent videos, she said something along the lines of "I haven't been speaking on mental illness lately because I seem to romanticize it accidentally" so she's most likely becoming self-aware at least.
