We've heard you loud and clear - negative reputation is back. Remember that it's still against the rules to complain about being downvoted - if you think someone's mass-downvoting posts or otherwise abusing the reputation system, DM a mod and we will take care of it.
I've got a couple of his velour liquid lips and they're honestly some of the better ones I own in terms of just, staying power and not needing to be caked on which is what it looks like Ryland did here. I feel like it's down to just, a not great colour and bad application? It didn't look that bad in the promo or the video. Also I really... don't get the story behind the promo stuff. How does that link with the idea of "conspiracy" OR "controversy"?
I literally had to unfollow her because I felt like this too. I remembered seeing her respond to tweet that J* had replied to about sending "normal customers" on a "brand trip" when she'd just posted like, "spent $600 at Zara" or wherever and "bougie rooftop bar, bye $250!!!" as if she doesn't have like 15k subscribers and can afford to throw away that kind of money. NORMAL CUSTOMER
I still wouldn't say that her face is aging that rapidly that she'd struggle though so I do wonder why she'd be SO concerned about it. Peachmilky is 24 and she still seems to get a TON of modelling gigs without, from what I can see, being too hung up on the fact she's mid-twenties. Granted she also has the whole pale blonde sexy cosplay thing going on. If anything, wouldn't it encourage her to want to achieve as much as she can and to pursue as many avenues within those industries as she can? Like, there's no age limit on teaching or fashion design specifically if you put in the work. Then again it always seems like a lot of influencers like her end up like this?? Abipop rode the whole forever 17 thing for ages and still acts like a ditzy teenager now, Taylor R obviously has hang ups about her aging etc. etc.
Didn't they already release stuff like the bags? I'm sure Shane dropped his merch before and it was like, all sold out or something. I'm not sure what to make of the palette though.... I liked some of the colours on their own but together...... I'm not feeling it. I love wearing yellow shades but in that colour story? It just seems..... misplaced. Adding on about the money thing, I don't think it's all that tacky? I am nosy AF so I love finding out stuff like actual costs of some palettes compared to what they make from them. I think the whole idea was to "blow the lid on the beauty community" by talking about this stuff anyway wasn't it since it's normally pretty hush hush?
Also from what I can tell there's probably a ton of seasonal goods she could make videos about, not just for halloween but for autumn too. Like the sakura themed products in spring, it literally would take next to no work and yet.............
How......... is this extra? It just looks like every other insta e-girl who is like ~uguuuu japanese fashion~~ to me lol. It's a cute outfit sure but it's not like...... that dramatic Mikan. I'm really curious about the Venus/Mikan thing too. It does give the impression that Mikan kind of ghosted her rather than explicitly told her she needed distance or didn't want to be friends which, I guess I can kind of understand because that's a Not Fun conversation to have, but it's still a shitty move considering. Also, the whole constantly bringing up Hiro thing just seems like she's doing it for clout to me? Like OH HEY look at this actual Japanese guy I was dating!!!! Maybe that's just me though.
I didn't mean to imply that Japan has no support system, maybe that was awkwardly worded. I meant that VENUS herself has no real support system, so I'm sorry if you misread that. I don't really buy that her friends, bar maybe when she was around Taylor, are necessarily strong enough to weather an alcohol addiction, and obviously she doesn't have any family around her. She doesn't even really have employers/agents who might be able to step in and help. Like I think someone else said above "some manager, huh?" It doesn't seem like he's stepping in to help either. Also, just because she's gone to therapy in the past doesn't mean it'll be as easy as going again. I've been to therapy multiple times before too and hell, it still took me MONTHS to go through with referring myself the second time even though I'd been through it before. Addiction wrecks havoc on your mind and your emotions. It really isn't my intent to offend you, but your attitude still seems very naive. If you've not been through addiction or had someone close to you deal with it, then I guess that's why, but it really isn't that easy. A lot of other people raised good points about other people struggling with it too, so I'm going to leave it here. I don't really want to derail the thread any more arguing about whether getting help is hard or not because it's all relative anyway.
Part of her probably does soak up on comments like that from her fans as I'm sure a lot of people who overshare online do but, no offence, it really CAN be that hard to go to an AA meeting?? I say this as someone whose dad was an alcoholic for literally all of my teenage years who saw firsthand how long it took him to quit. It's one thing to acknowledge that you might have a problem (if Venus even really grasps the full extent of her issue) and it's a total other thing to own up to it enough to take steps to get over it. Kind of similar to getting help for mental health issues? It's terrifying to actually go through with getting professional help, even if you know that's their job and that's what you have to do to get better. There are so, so many reasons why someone can find it difficult to seek help for addiction. Especially when you combine all this with the fact that she lives in a foreign country with, let's face it, absolutely no support system. I'm not excusing her behaviour by any means and, again, I'm not trying to come for you personally but I just think it's a pretty naive take to assume that it's as simple as turning up to a meeting and that will fix everything.
I don't think people are concerned so much because of that tho, it's more the excessive drinking? That's not healthy for anyone, let alone someone like Venus when you consider her health/surgery history I guess.
