honestly... i feel like all of you are oversimplifying how easy it is to run a business. it seems simple to do this or do that from a consumer's perspective but on the business' side there's a million granular aspects to take care of when it comes to even one change in their business model. also, most likely the reason why eggie's prices are so high despite their poor quality is because eggie doesn't have economies of scale; it's a small company so it's difficult for them to drive down prices per unit while still maintaining good enough profit margins. moreover they don't have that many sales in the first place im assuming. like okay im not claiming i know a shitton about business but u have to acknowledge that there's a reason why so many ppl fail at building ecommerce businesses, even when they have an audience. a lot of you are defending the fact that you're merely criticizing the brand and not the person but it's easy to see that a lot of that criticism often overflows into simply degrading jenn, exhibit a above. so its not like she doesnt have a reason in wanting to defend herself personally at points. tbh... i'm happy that she even said anything about it at all, i was worried she'd never bring it up. i think it shows that she does have some level of integrity in attempting to address this situation instead of just covering shit up. like she could have if she wanted to; her fanbase is big enough for her to do that. and even though there's still a lot she failed to talk about in the video this is a really great step forwards. people MAKE MISTAKES GUYS, hindsight is 20/20, you don't know what you don't know until you try it and fail still not gonna buy anything from them until she gets her shit together and stops releasing these ugly ass drops though lmao
i might be projecting but most e.asian diaspora or immigrant children (including me) do feel a lot more pride for our ethnic identities once kpop became mainstream. it sucks and its so shitty but when you grow up in an environment where anything that connects you back to your cultute is demonised, then suddenly seeing so many of the same people demonising your culture actually finding e.asians attractive is like... a gigantic boost in self-confidence lol. i dont think a lot of ppl in this thread are truly understanding the level of self-hate, shame and embarrassment about our cultures immigrant kids experience when growing up in majority-white communities. idk i just think her vid on her korean-american experience was really raw and relatable and authentic, like it explains a lot of her behaviour, and i feel like you guys are twisting it into something it wasnt supposed to be lol. anyways i feel like im derailing and getting further from the point so i apologize if thts what i did
speaking from personal experience and because i'm also friends with a lot of first gen immigrant children it's almost sort of a universal experience for us lol. especially when we go to school in areas with almost no other asians in our early childhood years, we lose our mother tongue really fast. this is also in combination with a lot of other factors like reticence to learn our mother tongue because of discrimination / shameful feelings about our own cultures and wanting to "erase" it, etc. etc. lol so it's really common for you to see an immigrant child with really good comprehension of the language when other people speak it to them but being unable to fluently form sentences themselves, or basically staying stuck at essentially the fluency of a 6-7 year old. it's not really out of a lack of effort; usually language schools suck and by the time it registers for the parents to send their children to language school they've already grown out of that neuro-elasticity that allows them to actually fully learn the language. plus, most of us barely get exposed to our mother tongue since it is basically never used outside of interactions with our parents. u generally see a deterioration of the mother tongue to jenn's extent with immigrant kids raised in areas where they're the hyper-minority, but usually for kids that go to middle school / high school surrounded by a fair amount of other kids of their ethnicity they manage to maintain the language relatively well. just wanted to put another perspective out there! i thought her video was really authentic, it hit home hard for those of us with that first gen asian immigrant experience but i don't know how well it connects with people without those specific experiences !
is kenna really 4'11 as she claimed in her recent post? i know pictures aren't super great of a basis for guessing someone's height, but 4'11 is SUPER tiny and it should show in pictures. like jenn im from clothesencounters is really short and she definitely looks like it in her photos (even though she's still just 5'1...) but kenna just looks like she's an average height. i'm looking at her leg lengths and stuff and it doesn't seem possible that she's only 4'11? she seems like she has lots of leg (weird thing to say but it's true) plus the friends she's usually posing with are crazy tall (like bree, who's literally 5'9..... anyone would look dwarfed when standing next to her) also in one pic where she's standing right next to bree she's around a head shorter than her, less an inch, which is around 7 or 8 inches... so she's definitely not 4'11 unless francinamodels lied about bree's height this sounds kind of obsessive but i just got really confused so i wanted to know The Truth lol
whaaaat you're definitely looking in the wrong place!! theres barely any girl groups that do the classic schoolgirl concept anymore excluding the token ones (like lovelyz and fromis_9) theres actually so many interesting and original girl group concepts out right now especially these two years lol (red velvet, loona, exid, blackpink - though i dont like their songs but they're definitely different, girlkind, gugudan's new songs, clc, the list goes on and onn) and i really recommend checking out some of the groups i mentioned for that breath of fresh air you're looking for! they probably won't all be to your taste tho haha girl groups have really been making this kpop gen amazing for me and i hope u can rediscover that spark a little bit!
ohh this is such a cute idea! i love lemony scents, subdued floral/fruity scents! i like the smell of generic sunscreen because it gives me a lot of warm fuzzy feelings of nostalgia, and also specifically the chloe absolu de parfum perfume bc it reminds me of my sister and every time i smell it on a random stranger i feel so happy inside lol oh green tea (any tea really...) smells soooo good 2!!
the comment section makes me fucking terrified because all these people think its just funny that jake is getting called out, but this video is actually fucking terrifying???? like that one clip where he was firing a gun at the girl, she looked fucking scared out of her mind like that was animal fear, she was literally running for her life before she could rationalize that it was a """"prank"""". when he just laughed off almost killing one of the boys with the jenga tower? humping his gf in the fucking grocery store? how do people find this shit funny? like it literally just makes me feel so disgusted and scared for the lives of the kids in team 10. they are not equipped to function in society, theres literally something wrong with their self-perception....... like it's not fucking funny to be a public disturbance, it doesn't show you have balls or shit. all of these people just filming each other like nothing life-threatening is happening?? just standing there and laughing and holding up cameras while he trashes the twins' room, holy fuck. it feels like they just live in their own fucking bubble without ever suffering any consequences i'm literally shivering right now i have never seen someone so unhinged in my life, i can't believe these are the influencers pre-teens look up to
i respectfully disagree. i think what really needs to happen is to start separating beauty standards from body image, and focus on the health aspect instead. like i'm not sure how you think this works but people don't get "embarrassed" into losing weight. you'd literally either have a country full of kids with eating disorders or a country full of plus size kids that hate themselves so much they get depressed. and when you're depressed, it's not really a priority to adopt a healthier lifestyle. like what we need right now is to stop tying someone's weight to their intrinsic value as a human being, and start seeing obesity and above average weights as temporary health issues to be easily addressed that SHOULD NOT define the person, and SHOULD NOT define how they are perceived by the public. plus size people already have huge lifestyle changes to worry about, they don't need that extra psychological burden of feeling like the literal scum of the earth whenever they're out. for me body positivity means to just stop focusing on how your body looks, but rather focus on how well it's working for you, and how you feel in it.
blackpink's songs suck lmao, but it's probably just because i never liked 2ne1's sound in the first place. the melodies all sound so elementary and they all sing in that awkward overcompensating yg-style way ughhh. their stuff reminds me of old school edm kpop, a lot of which was BAD lolalso i love the girls but they're literally an upcycled, more attractive and more talented version of 2ne1 imo, like any given member of bp can sing with less strain than bom #itsthetruthtwice deserves all the hype, they're the only gg who is doing the bubblegum pop gg thing RIGHT. like so many girl groups with standard gg concepts like twice have always tried to pretend to be something they're not?? twice's songs are very open about it, they have a strong pop foundation and are brainless & catchy (actually likey wasn't all that brainless, that shit was a deep dive into the toxicity of the idol industry lmao) and that's why they're so successful, because it's what people WANT from standard girl groups but they NEVER FUCKING GET IT because everyone's trying to do some quirky shit while using the same gg template!!! that's not gonna work!! either go completely off the rails like RV or follow the goddamn bubblegum pop gg formula.tbh the kpop industry should be fucking scared of seventeen. from choreography to music production to performance they literally push the limits of everything beyond what anyone else has ever tried to do in the industry and they still have so much potential. like take lilili yabbay. never seen shit trippy like that, ever, in kpop. and the members created everything themselves!!!!!! why isn't it blowing up????? no comprendo.
