We've heard you loud and clear - negative reputation is back. Remember that it's still against the rules to complain about being downvoted - if you think someone's mass-downvoting posts or otherwise abusing the reputation system, DM a mod and we will take care of it.
Venus has a manager now right? If you're a cute young girl then one of the most profitable target audiences is guys who are (to some degree) into you. The best thing business-wise is to be single so all those guys can (often subconsciously) think they have a chance to date you. Same reasons j/k-pop idols aren't allowed to date. Keeping Manaki away from social media is a good choice for business... Especially in Japan where idol-culture is big.
Sorry I know some of you want to move on from the autism speculation - but - I've got my tinfoil hat on here, and something about the way she wanted to know what was "wrong" with her struck me as odd.
I've heard things like "everyone would get a diagnose if they went to a doctor, because everyone is weird in their own way" SO many times. It's true in that everyone fits the criteria for something. (Example: You bite your nails too much? You're an obsessive compulsive onychophagia sufferer.) But there's a misunderstanding in what a diagnose is for, it's not an identity label to explain your quirks. It's so you gain the right to receive the help and support that you need.
The way Ken explained it makes it seem like she went to see what was "wrong" with her without there actually being a problem. She's not suffering (in a broad medical sense) and doesn't need access to aid. Yet she's supposedly a "level 2", requiring substantial support? It just... doesn't add up, unless she's hiding a lot about herself. And sure, that is possible, just unlikely.
It's almost - and my tinfoil hat is still on - like she thinks of it like a Hogwarts sorting ceremony and wanted to know which diagnose-house she would belong to. Like a muggle doing the pottermore quiz.
I'm autistic, and naturally I've ended up knowing a bunch of other autistic people as well, so I'd like to think I've got at least a decent amount of knowledge about it. While Kenks does display some possible symptoms, that doesn't mean she actually qualifies for having the diagnose. Just like if you google your regular mild illness symptoms, google will tell you you've got cancer and you will die in 24 hours. Here's the thing with (specifically) high-functioning autism, aka asperger syndrome: it's often mentioned that it comes with positive things like higher IQ, detail-orientation, not giving in to peer pressure... Back in my tumblr days I saw a whole bunch of (mostly girls tbh) self-diagnose themselves with autism. I think it's easy to think "well I'm kinda quirky and different, and I am intelligent" and get into the idea that you've got it. So weirdly it is a romanticized diagnose. I don't think she's lying about it, I think she's just misdiagnosed and actually thinks she has it.
It's also an "invisible" disability, so you can't really prove she doesn't have it, making it even easier to slap it onto her own identity. I'm interested in seeing how this Kenka era will play out.
It happened gradually, but it was mostly brown when I was maybe 10 years old. Same for my siblings and my dad. Dad has black hair now. I even knew a half white/polynesian guy who was blonde and had fair skin until he was 10-12 and his hair became black and curly and his skin got a lot darker. He literally looked like he changed race.
She wasn't brought up with them, she doesn't know them. They live in a different culture on the other side of the world where she literally doesn't know anyone. They're essentially strangers who happen to share some genes. We don't know where Margo got her abusive ideas from, the rest of the family could be just as abusive. Venus has A LOT to deal with both mental health and career-wise. Maybe there will be a time for her to reconnect with family members, but that time is not now.
It's weird seeing someone with so much skill, yet so little skill. Like what-
what's up with those tiny arms and hands??? what's up with those weird nonsensical fabrics floating around??? what's up with all the obese thighs??? what's up with the crisp looking bodies yet blurry out of focus faces???
Your experience is what I meant. I haven't seen many people admit that they were actually doing it and being a transtrender. It's hard calling it out too because you get called a transphobe... I feel like if more people admitted to it then it would be easier for more transtrenders to realise they're doing it too so they'll stop.
"They looked so much better before" as a comment on someones plastic surgery is really rude, and in 99% of cases I don't agree. Most plastic surgeries are successful and subtle and you literally have no idea they weren't born that way.
If YOU're commenting on how the person looks "bad" now, then you're just as vain for judging people on their looks.
I'm kind of interested in hearing about the transtrending, would you mind sharing a bit more about it? And good job on waking up from your snowflakery! If only more flakes were like you haha
omg you were a hisser?? The weeb legends were t r u e
lmao I'm autistic and I get "wow I didn't even notice/you don't look like it" comments. It's like.... no, I'm actually acting pretty autistic, it's just that YOU don't actually know what that means because you have no idea what real autistic people act like.
Autistic people can of course be "retarded" (I'm don't actually know a non-offensive way to say it...?) AS WELL. But it's not part of the autistic diagnosis. It's like how someone can be born with just one leg and also be lesbian. They're different things that can occur at the same time.
I know it's my own biased opinion, but I find polyamorists so gross. I've never seen a (conventionally) attractive person be into it. So my tinfoil-hat-theory is that it's based on (ugly-ish) people feeling insecure and some using that in others.
For example, people who think along the lines of "I'm not good enough on my own, so of course my partner needs another person as well..." Or "I'm not really in love with this person but I like the convenience of being in a relationship so I'll stay and let them have another gf/bf as well" And also people who think like "if I'm so ugly, then how come I have TWO people!? haha take that society" Statistically, most relationships fail (as in they end). I don't know anyone into dating who doesn't have at least 1 ex, meaning even if they currently are in a relationship they only have a success rate of 50%. With 3 or more people it's soooo unlikely that they're all compatible on equal levels that there has to be some gross power inbalance involved...
Idk. I want to be an open minded person but I just can't stop feeling grossed out about it.
Even though direct tracing obviously isn't ok, the otter, for example, isn't traced. It's just a "redraw"-copy, which I personally think is ok as long as you admit to "being inpsired" by the original or call it a redrawing, or even fanart. The style is different, and she gave it a different item and added some plants... so I think she made it her own. (I still think the original is way cuter)
As someone who doodles A LOT, I sometimes copy something for practice and then draw 100 other things and I literally forget that I copied anything, especially when looking back at it weeks or months later. It's not great, but it happens. Idk why I'm sort of defending her, I have no idea who she is lol And like I said, tracing isn't ok. And the other shady stuff she's doing is deserving of being called out.
